Top DoD Brass Supports Ending U.S. Military’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” (DADT) Policy — Senator McCain Was For This Before He Was Against This

SURPRISE, SURPRISE… Señor Juan Sidney McCain has waffled again…

John McCain For DADT Before He Was Against Gays Lesbians GLBT Top DoD Brass Supports Ending U.S. Militarys Dont Ask, Dont Tell (DADT) Policy Senator McCain Was For This Before He Was Against This

John McCain is a liar about DADT - for it in 2006 against it in 2010 since top military brass at Pentagon are now for repealing it

What a guy, this Senator from Arizona Panama is, eh? Today, Admiral Mike Mullen, the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and Defense Secretary Robert M. Gates, testifying before the Senate Armed Services Committee spoke out loudly and clearly in favor of overturning the DoD’s DADT policy forbidding homosexuals from openly serving in the United States armed forces.

One (that is, if the “One” in question’s belief in Panama John’s integrity remains blindly intact) would assume Señor Juan Sidney would be in complete approval of such an announcement since he promised the constituents he, too would jump on the “Time To Overturn DADT” bandwagon the day the top military brass said it was time to do so. It was just a few years ago (2006) when The Gentleman From Panama and Wheelman of The Straight Talk Doubletalk Express made such a statement:

“The day that the leadership of the military comes to me and says, ‘Senator, we ought to change the policy,’ then I think we ought to consider seriously changing it because those leaders in the military are the ones we give the responsibility to,” McCain told an audience of college students during the “Hardball” college tour on MSNBC. … — The Washington Post

Today, just such an occurance happened and what did Panama John have to say about it? “Disappointed” is the key word.

While many should be “disappointed” in Señor McCain, I am not one of them. I’ve come to expect such waffling and shiftiness to surround everything this man says and does. Forget all of the OTHER blatant lies the man has made over the decades; forget his direct ties to American terrorist Bill Ayers and ACORN; forget the man’s inclusion in The Keating Five and all of the other “missteps” and “misspeaking” the Panamanian-born Senator has presented us with. While you’re at it, DON’T forget (ahem… Arizonans) to FIRE him at your earliest possible convenience…

America’s had enough “John McCain’s” and hopefully more than enough of this particular one. I know I most certainly have.

Could not agree with you more GTL…McCain is the epitomy of incompetent, flip/flopping career politicians(military hero or not)that has this county so up in arms. Throw the bums out, all of them…

A fanatic is one who can’t change his mind and won’t change the subject.~ Winston Churchill

While I have no problem with gays in the military. Really I don’t I do find indeed that if he changed his mind it is more from political expediency and the fact he is running for reelection and the country once again is moving RIGHT………and very quickly.

Mr. McCain is doing what we all despise. Huh? Finger wiggling poll watching.

A wise man changes his mind, a fool never.~ Spanish Proverb

I have no problem with someone changing their mind. Remember the furor over Obama changing his mind and how it was perfectly acceptable to do so because……Well you had to explain somehow WHY Obama would change his mind. Remember Obama claiming he was all for a PUBLIC OPTION, and then suddenly it wasnt important.

GTL everyone changes their minds. The problem is that when a politician claims one thing that wins him votes and support…and when they change their minds its usually rather annoying. Thats why changing ones mind in Politics is usually done gradually and with trepidation.

Additionally Im seeing a TELL JOE LIEBERMAN its PAYBACK time as a block add on this page. Since he is a good friend of John McCain and was almost selected to run with McCain I think its appropriate that we think about him for a minute in conjunction with this piece.

Joe Lieberman might well be the bravest man in the Senate. He votes with Democrats and he votes against them. He is buddies with the GOP and he is buddies with the Democrats.

Heck……this is the way they all should be. They are SENT to congress to Represent the PEOPLE of their OWN STATES……….NOT THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY and NOT Nancy Pelosi’s radical district from California.

Yeah….of all the pols in DC…..Joe Lieberman is about the only one that I have faith in to at least TRY and do the right thing for America and try and work in a Bipartisan way to get things done. Its too bad hes considered a traitor to the Democratic party. Man if only we had more people doing that in DC we might actually all be getting along about now.

@Doomed, Although you make very good points Doomed, I think you miss mine…McCain is displaying WHY we need term limits, WHY politicians in general, cant be trusted.

Yes, that would be great if true, but they are acting, reacting, and flip flopping, in order to get re-elected…period. Every time a representative changes so drastically, regardless of “how long it took” it shows that thier values have changed. Like no longer believing in God, or the constitution…Why?….follow the money, and the money comes from holding that office for yet another term…Term limits, period. More citizens in more temporary offices, thats the answer….

@CLD, Exactly, my good friend — it’s one thing to change your mind for REAL and another to just say whatever you think the constituents want to hear to help you stay elected.

For example, when Colin Powell changes his mind on DADT, I tend to believe the man. When a career scumbag politician does, I simply believe it’s time for him or her to head off on a big white hoss into the sunset and/or the private sector…

      About DADT:

Who DADT, Who DADT, Who dadt gonna beat them Saints? Nobody!

    • Doomed

Im not a McCain Apologist and if you see above, I wrote that McCain is nothing but a finger waggling Politician changing his mind to get reelected.

I agree…..Im the first in line for term limits.

2 terms senate. 12 years in the house.

No Aide can serve longer then 15 years without at least a 5 year break.

But to change ones mind is not a bad thing. The reason why someone changes their minds is whats important.
