With Panama John Pulling Five Points Ahead Of Barry Obama In Reuters/Zoghby Poll, Perhaps The “ELDER(LY)” Statesman Needs To Leave The Campaign Trail And Rest Those Old Bones?
That’s right, folks — it’s O-V-E-R for the Senator with the middle name starting with an “H” if you take the time to surf the Pipes And Tubes (Source: Reuters) of Señor McCain’s Internets and Blogospheres today. Correct; the eighty-two year old (?) former Panamanian who later migrated to the Great State of Arizona has all but won his race for the White House if you’ve been exposed to “the buzz”.
Frankly, while I’m quite impressed with the (so-called) last-minute sprint finish by Senator McSurge, I also fear a bit for his health. Oh sure, he LOOKS fairly healthy for a man of his age, but I’d really hate to see the man overdo it. He’s apparently cemented his presidential bid, so how about Señor SENIOR McCain taking a couple of months off so he’ll be well-rested once he lays his fragile hand upon the Holy Bible, raises another fragile hand, and swears to halt his numerous assaults upon our 1st Amendment and forevermore, UPHOLD the Constitution so he can “white-knuckle” this young nation’s steering wheel into his Utopic Land of McProsperity? We’ll need for this guy to last his entire four-year term if we are to further the G.O.P. agenda of stomping out our pesky middle class after all.
Aside from a long vacation, I would also caution Señor McCain to IGNORE RealClearPolitics‘ mean (and I DO mean “mean“) average showing Barry Obama to still be holding the overall lead by 1.3% at this time. After all, ask any neoconservative and I’d be surprised if they wouldn’t be the first to tell you RCP is probably backed by George Soros anyway.
Relax, Panama — just kick back and let Barry bury himself. You’ve got it in the bag, bro.

And now for The GTL™’s personal blogger roundup on the topic: Drudge Retort; Donklephant (Moderate); Comments From Left Field (OMG!!! — A “Spirited” response to say the least — Adult language warning though…); Outside The Beltway (Insightful response from the Right — Forgets the “cellphone thing” though — That goes in Obama’s favor); TalkLeft’s Big Tent Democrat (Some not-so-kind words for Zoghby); Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey (Right — But shares at least ONE point of view with Big Tent Democrat @ TalkLeft); The Moderate Voice’s Joe Gandleman (Center-Left — Offers another great roundup); Democrat Taylor Marsh and Steve Soto of The Left Coaster (Left — Shares some of the same sentiments of many of our friends on the Right on this issue however)

This is a good one GTL.
But before Señor McCain and his amigos head to the OLD Country Buffet, he need to remember that IF these polls are reliable he would not be who he is today (the nominee ).
interesting fact. as of sept 4th. John McCains campaign will have 180.4 million dollars in the bank to spend in 2 months.
Barak Obama will have 80 million dollars. He is seriously sucking wind on the campaign trail fundraising wise. This information was revealed today by Times magazine.
The caveat is that Obama can continue to seek funding while McCain must stop accepting donations. AT the current pace of 51 million per month Obama will have roughly the same amount to spend as McCain but the problem for Obama is that he will have to continue to attend fund raisers while McCain will not.
Perhaps this is the nail that will drive home to the candidates that public funded campaigns is not that bad of an idea.
Heh… great point, Daniel…
Neocon: “Perhaps this is the nail that will drive home to the candidates that public funded campaigns is not that bad of an idea. …”
I’d be ALL FOR IT as long as the public funding isn’t restricted to ONLY the two-party
systemCARTEL… I want to see no less than TEN publicly-funded windbags at the debates but that’s just MOIPS: Neocon — you need to get yourself a Gravitar, bro! Click HERE and get ‘er done — no “hurry up and wait” needed
Okay Ill look into it.

The comment about Sen. Obama’s fundraising is telling, given the failures of the Bush administration on economic issues. Somehow they screwed up and left the “progressives” with some disposable income. My plan would have made them choose between donations and food. Then we would’ve seen what kind of change they wanted. My guess is the dollar menu kind, but alas, the Bush administration never returns my call.
Interesting you mentioned the dollar menu because I just got off the phone with John McCain and we have decided that the best way to handle the current budget deficit is for the government to hand out McDonalds vouchers to the poor.
Thus we can drastically reduce the welfare rolls by killing them off with massive doses of Cholesterol BEFORE we start with the national health care deal.

You do realize that if we keep this up GTL will spank us. He loves po’folks and hates McDonalds…or was that Walmart? I can never keep ‘em straight.
I endorse Joe’s Taco Stand and Freddy’s Groceries, LLC, bro…
Get it RIGHT!
