John McCain Upset With Barack Obama’s Decision To Save Taxpayers Tens Of Millions Of Dollars To Run His Election

The Nation’s First Panamanian-Born Presidential Candidate, Señor John McCain, Who Has Readily Chosen To Accept $84M (USD) Of Hard-Earned Taxpayer Dollars Is Miffed At Barry O-bomber’s Decision To Spend Private Donations Instead

Panama John McCain blasts Barack Obama for refusing to spend 84 million taxpayer dollars in public campaign financing...Eighty-four million dollars can feed and clothe a lot of hungry American children. Or, those funds, involuntarily hijacked from the paychecks of American workers to ram Barack Obama and John McCain’s mugs, words and pontifications down our throats for the next few months. Señor McCain has chosen to force me to pay for him to annoy the hell out of me for awhile; Barry has decided to spare me. Señor McCain’s not happy with Barry’s decision to leave tens of millions of our taxpayer dollars in the bank. But, HEY — this guy is suppose to be a “conservative”. RIGHT.

Some “spin” from ABCNews’ Political Punch (Jake Tapper):

Obama to Break Promise, Opt Out of Public Financing for General Election

In a web video to supporters — “the people who built this movement from the bottom up” — Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, announced this morning that he will not enter into the public financing system, despite a previous pledge to do so.

“We’ve made the decision not to participate in the public financing system for the general election,” Obama says in the video, blaming it on the need to combat Republicans, saying “we face opponents who’ve become masters at gaming this broken system. John McCain’s campaign and the Republican National Committee are fueled by contributions from Washington lobbyists and special interest PACs. And we’ve already seen that he’s not going to stop the smears and attacks from his allies running so-called 527 groups, who will spend millions and millions of dollars in unlimited donations.” …

(Snip!)

“… Obama said, “I’m asking you to try to do something that’s never been done before. Declare our independence from a broken system, and run the type of campaign that reflects the grassroots values that have already changed our politics and brought us this far.”

Declaring independence from a “broken system” by breaking a promise. Obama hopes you’ll care more about the former than the latter. …”

Okay, we all know what this is really about — Barry’s going to be able to raise much more money on his own versus “sparing we taxpayers eight-plus mil”. Señor McCain likely doesn’t stand a chance to raise more than the $84M (USD) “free handout” (I thought Republicans despised those?), so he’ll gladly accept my tax money in desparation.

On public campaign financing — I don’t like it. At ALL. Not because it is a bad idea, but because it excludes the average, ordinary Americans who claim to be “independent” voters who do not subscribe completely to either of the two major parties who are exclusively entitled to this funding. Open up this public money to a few other parties, keep it even, and I’ll CAMPAIGN on behalf of it. ‘Til then, KUDOS to Obama (no matter the self-serving reasons behind it, I just want my tax money left alone) and shame on McCain, and shame on BOTH of their parties cartels for hijacking the Democratic Republic of our Founding Fathers for personal and political gain.

The time has come for some TRUE “campaign finance reform”, Señor McCain and Senator Russ Feingold. “McCain-Feingold” didn’t even come CLOSE to resembling “reform” in any way, shape, or form, gentlemen.

So, you are OK with Obama breaking his promise?

I’m just amazed that people are swallowing the excuses “why” he’s doing it. He’s doing it because he can raise more money this way. Period. Good or bad? I don’t care. I just wish his followers (which are not the same as his supporters) would admit it.

I wonder if you would have taken such a kind approach had Sen. McCain opted out while Sen. Obama kept to his promise?

“Eighty-four million dollars can feed and clothe a lot of hungry American children.”

Actually, that would buy about 100 big macs by the time if made its way through the bureaucracy and down to the hungry children.
