Escalating Civil War In Iraq Brings Pressure Upon Candidate Who Promised Us “a long, tough road” In Iraq If Elected

Promising To Carry On With The Legacy Of President “Surge” W. Bush’s Foreign Policy In Iraq, Panama John McCain Faces Tough Questions As Opposition Forces Gain Confidence And The Death Tolls Mount Exponentially

Panamanian born Republican presidential candidate John McCain faces tough questions as Iraqi government collapses under insurgency...“Surge!”, ordered President Bush. “Surge, INDEED”, echoed Panamanian-born Republican Señor John McCain. “Stay the course!”, championed President Bush. “Stay the course for however long it (whatever “It” is?) takes!”, echoed Señor McCain.

A mere month later, many powerful Democrats, most likely after receiving their “smoke-filled room” cut on the “Big Oil And Nation Buildin’ Bidness” behind the scenes, joined in with ole’ “Panama John” and President “Surge” W. Bush in chanting “The surge is working! We must stay the course after all!” as they awaited Vice President Dick “Shotgun” Cheney’s bankwire transfers to their Swiss bank accounts.

Some Democrats, however; did NOT sing that song. Most rational Americans didn’t either, as a matter of fact. And speaking of “facts”, the fact is, only ONE of our front-runner candidates refused to vote for the war and/or its subsequent “surges”. Guess which one that was? Then again, to say that’s a sign of Mr. Obama’s “genius” would be a HUGE overstatement. MOST of us seem to feel the same way these days — regardless of our political leanings.

BUT — Señor McCain MIGHT just be in for a “long, tough” ride. After all, of the few campaign PROMISES the man has offered us, the continued “surges” and a “long, tough road” in the Middle East are the main ones. And now that the “body bag bidness” is BOOMING in Iraq these days, The Distinguished “Señor” from Arizona has a few bullets of his own to dodge — again.

From The New York Times:

Political Memo
Iraqi Offensive Revives Debate for Campaigns

By MICHAEL COOPER and LARRY ROHTER

The heavy fighting that broke out last week as Iraqi security forces tried to oust Shiite militias from Basra is reverberating on the presidential campaign trail and posing new challenges and opportunities to the candidates, particularly Senator John McCain.

The fierce fighting — and the threat that it could undo a long-term truce that has greatly helped to reduce the level of violence in Iraq — thrust the war back into the headlines and the public consciousness just as it had been receding behind a tide of economic concerns. And it raised anew a host of politically charged questions about whether the current strategy is succeeding, how capable the Iraqis are of defending themselves and what the potential impact would be of any American troop withdrawals.

Mr. McCain, the presumptive Republican nominee, has made the Iraq war a centerpiece of his campaign; he rode to success in the primary season partly on his early advocacy of the troop buildup. The battle in Basra broke out as he returned from a trip to Iraq this month, proclaiming that violence there was down and that the troop escalation was working. …”

Have fun, Señor. Have fun, Sir Hillary Rodham Diane Clinton. After all, the two of you are to blame for this bloody debacle.

That said — here’s another one of those little “insider predictions” I’m known to make every now and again, courtesy of my STILL “unnammed G.O.P. source”, and REMEMBER — you read it here FIRST, folks. Barack Obama, while definitely a “lesser of three evils”, has a little bit of “dirt” yet to be unearthed as you will all see in the coming months. So much “dirt” in fact; the G.O.P. is actually CHEERING for a Hillary victory (God forbid!) since there is no more “dirt” available to be aired on the Senator “Puppet” from New York. Her body count speaks for itself.

Remember again — in the coming months, more questions will arise about Senator Obama’s church and its connection to direct funding from the Great State of Illinois as well as federal and state funds being directed to (almost exclusively) “black” churches. You just THOUGHT Senator John F. Kerry was “Swift Boated”. Stay TUNED.

On the other hand, as a HIGHLY torqued off and potentially disenfranchised voting Citizen of the United States of America, what’s a guy to do? After all, there are NO viable third-party options available these days. But we can work toward such a solution for 2012…

And we MUST.

I guess this post was written BEFORE al-Sadr’s announcement that he was pulling his fighters off the streets in what appears to be a conciliatory gesture and an attempt to get the Peace Process back on track.

It is good to bring up the Iraq conflict again – we cannot forget about the brave men and women who are serving in Iraq and doing an Excellent job there.

It has been conspicuously missing from the liberal blogs and the MSM lately. Things were going so well in Iraq that I guess it just didn’t fit the liberal blogs/MSM’s agenda anymore. It’s too bad that things might just get better again right after y’all brought attention to the recent and short term increase in violence.

With the latest turn of events, it does appear that the current plan continues working admirably and the people behind it seem to know what they’re doing. Of course, only time will tell for sure, but al-Sadr’s decision today is definitely a positive event.

Or maybe al-Sadr is just afraid of what will happen to him if the anti-christ Obama is elected. Or not.

PS. “…in the coming months, more questions will arise about Senator Obama’s church…” As well they should. There are many, many unanswered questions about Obama’s behavior as it relates to this church and to his dealings with the criminal element in Illinois…
