- To everyone that accuses those of us in favor of withdrawing the majority of American forces from Iraq of stabbing our soldiers in the back or of being traitors…
- To those who think we’re “supporting al-Qaeda Troops” and “giving victory to the terrorists” while you fail to realize that foreign fighters make up less than 10% of the insurgency and that because of the ethic makeup of the region Iraq isn’t and won’t be a haven for Sunni terrorists…
- To those that think it’s our solemn duty to continue to spill American blood and destroy American lives policing a foreign civil war that will exist whether we’re involved or not…
- To those that think the $12 billion dollars per month currently being spent in Iraq couldn’t be put to much better use here at home (doing things like… oh I don’t know… securing our national infrastructure?)…
- To those who favor a nation’s right to self determination while ignoring the fact the majority of the Iraqi population wants us out of the country…
- To those who fail to recognize that by focusing all of our efforts on Iraq we’re allowing the real enemy to gain in strength by the day…
I’ve just got one thing to say:
- The Vietnam War ended 32 years ago. Give it up already, it’s time to move on.
Or more precisely:
The tired old arguments that anyone opposed to this war is a traitor, a coward, or an idiot are just that: a tired argument. You may honestly believe that the same attacks employed after the end of the Vietnam war can save the Republican party but they can’t. Your party screwed up, and it screwed up bad. Attacking the people who proved you wrong and who now have to clean up your clusterfu** makes you look like spoiled and craven hypocrites. Remember: you reap what you sow.
For the rest of my life I’ll have to watch as my generation deals with the repercussions of your adventurous folly in Iraq. We are the ones that will have to deal with the flaky oil economy, the hostile anti-Americanism, the cautious allies, and the badly damaged military. We are the ones that will have to try to repair the damage.
At least I’ll have the satisfaction in knowing that no matter how much you go on the offensive at this point you’re still likely to get crushed into irrelevance in a just over year’s time.
Your bag of tricks is empty and the crowd’s filing out of the room… how’s it feel?

Those are your opinions and you are certainly entitled to them. My only question is, How screwed up will things be when Your generation is done ‘cleaning up’ the mess???
From what I’ve seen so far, your generation is the single most screwed up generation in history. When your generation comes into power, God forbid, that will probably, truly be the end of this country.
Sorry, but that’s my opinion.
