Conservative “New Media Hero” Makes Richard Milhouse Nixon Proud — Busted For Wiretapping In A New Orleans Federal Building…

James O'Keefe -- ACORN Buster and conservative hero arrested by FBI for Nixon Era illegal wiretapping of Democrats -- Senator Mary Landriu this time

EVEN RIGHT-WING BLOGGERS ARE DISMAYED AT JAMES O'KEEFE'S DISREGARD FOR THE RULE OF LAW

This time, the ACORN “gotchya” man, James O’Keefe [ahem... allegedly] a member of the Pelican Institute for Public Policy, wasn’t dressed like a pimp with an “under-aged prostitute”, filming highly-edited, controversial, sneaky film footage. Nope, Mr. O’Keefe this time was dressed up like — guess who — the telephone guy (The New Orleans Times-Picayune), of course. His and his cohorts’ “mission” this time? Well, it’s obvious unless you’ve never heard of Nixon and his Watergate scandal — to wiretap his political enemy, the Democratic Senator from New Orleans. Unfortunately for Mr. O’Keefe (to the best of our knowledge, no direct relation to our good friend, Matthew O’Keefe of Papamoka Straight Talk), he wasn’t very smart about it and was busted like a former middle-class family’s piggy bank.

My, my, my — didn’t Watergate teach us that illegal wiretapping of the phone systems of Democrats can get you into some hot water? Apparently, our far right-wing ACORN-buster hero skipped that particular class in school. ACORN? BUSTED. ACORN “buster”? BUSTED. Enjoy your time in the clink with your new roomie with the missing teeth, Sir. That is, unless you can beat the charges (I know, I know, “innocent until proven guilty…”) but it’s not looking too good for you right now either, Mr. O’Keefe — even YOU have to admit that much.

Thanks again, Mr. O’Keefe, for YOUR part in giving even more fodder to those who question and even berate we “New Media” participants including but not limited to we bloggers. Do not forget, these are the very same people who say our leaders and “no man” is above the proverbial “law”.

      From an article about it: “All four men were charged with entering federal property under false pretenses with the intent of committing a felony.

      Lord suffering GGEEZZ-us! You could use that to nail most lobbyists and half of Congress if you applied it literally and evenly.

            Irrefutable Proof ICTY Is Corrupt Court/Irrefutable Proof the Hague Court Cannot Legitimately Prosecute Karadzic Case

            http://picasaweb.google.com/lpcyusa/
            (The Documentary Secret United Nations ICC Meeting Papers Scanned Images)

            This legal technicality indicates the Hague must dismiss charges against Dr Karadzic and others awaiting trials in the Hague jail; like it or not.

            Unfortunately for the Signatures Of the Rome Statute United Nations member states instituting the ICC & ICTY housed at the Hague, insofar as the, Radovan Karadzic, as with the other Hague cases awaiting trial there, I personally witnessed these United Nations member states openly speaking about trading judicial appointments and verdicts for financial funding when I attended the 2001 ICC Preparatory Meetings at the UN in Manhattan making the iCTY and ICC morally incapable trying Radovan Karazdic and others.

            I witnessed with my own eyes and ears when attending the 2001 Preparatory Meetings to establish an newly emergent International Criminal Court, the exact caliber of criminal corruption running so very deeply at the Hague, that it was a perfectly viable topic of legitimate conversation in those meetings I attended to debate trading verdicts AND judicial appointments, for monetary funding.

            Jilly wrote:*The rep from Spain became distraught and when her country’s proposal was not taken to well by the chair of the meeting , then Spain argued in a particularly loud and noticably strongly vocal manner, “Spain (my country) strongly believes if we contribute most financial support to the Hague’s highest court, that ought to give us and other countries feeding it financially MORE direct power over its decisions.”

            ((((((((((((((((((((((((( ((((((((((((((((((((((((( Instead of censoring the country representative from Spain for even bringing up this unjust, illegal and unfair judicial idea of bribery for international judicial verdicts and judicial appointments, all country representatives present in the meeting that day all treated the Spain proposition as a ”totally legitimate topic” discussed and debated it between each other for some time. I was quite shocked!
            The idea was “let’s discuss it.” “It’s a great topic to discuss.”

            Some countries agreed with Spain’s propositions while others did not. The point here is, bribery for judicial verdicts and judicial appointments was treated as a totally legitimate topic instead of an illegitimate toic which it is in the meeting that I attended in 2001 that day to establish the ground work for a newly emergent international criminal court.))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

            In particular., since “Spain” was so overtly unafraid in bringing up this topic of trading financial funding the ICC for influence over its future judicial appointments and verdicts in front of every other UN member state present that day at the UN, “Spain” must have already known by previous experience the topic of bribery was “socially acceptable” for conversation that day. They must have previously spoke about bribing the ICTY and
            ICC before in meetings; this is my take an international sociological honor student. SPAIN’s diplomatic gesture of international justice insofar as, Serbia, in all of this is, disgusting morally!

            SPAIN HAS TAUGHT THE WORLD THE TRUE DEFINITION OF AN
            “INTERNATIONAL CRIMINAL COURT.”

            I remind everyone, when I attended those ICC Preparatory Meetings in 2001, witnessing first hand the country plenipotentiary representatives present with me discussing so openly, trading judicial funding of a new international criminal court, for its direct judicial appointments and judicial verdicts, those same state powers were

            concurrently,

            those same countries and people were already simultaneously, funding the already established ICTY which was issuing at that time, arrest warrants for Bosnian Serbs under false primary diplomatic pretenses.

            The ICTY and ICC is just where it should be for once. Cornered and backed into and an international wall, scared like a corned animal (and I bet it reacts in the same way a rabid cornered animal does too in such circumstances). (ICTY associates)

            (Documents: Hague war crimes tribunal for the former Yugoslavia (ICTY) has destroyed all material evidence about the monsterous KLA Albanian/KLA organ trade in Kosovo).

            I believe strongly that ICYU assocaites murdered former Serb President, Slobodan Milosevic, tried to murder me, as well and other Serbs prisoners and presently places , Doctor Radovan Karadzic’s life in direct danger as well as Ratko Mladic’s life
            in danger should he be brought there.

            The ICTY has no other choice than to halt all further court proceedings against, Doctor Radovan Karadzic, and others there both serving sentences and awaiting trials. Miss JIll Louise Starr (The UN Security Council has no choice but to act on this now).

            I accuse the Hague ICTY war crimes tribunal of attempted assassination on my life and others, contempt of court and obstruction of international justice and “international witness tampering” in complicity with Richard Holbrook and Bill Clinton (Former US President of the USA) as well as political players in Spain and the Netherlands .

            I represented the state interests’ of the Former Yugoslavia, in Darko Trifunovic’s absence in those meetings and I am proud to undertake this effort on Serbia’s behalf.

                It is an important international issue. Name one thing “spammy” about it!

                I dare you !

                • Joe Lovell

                  @jill starr, how about the totally without warning, out of the blue, nothing to do with the topic nature of it? Hells bells, I go off topic, but I usually give at least a “And now for something completely different” Pytonesque segue into it. Shall I go into the semi-coherent phrasing? Or the conspiracy aspect?

                  (by the way, the general premise of it – that the “international court” is a crock, and a tool of the internationalists, I agree with, but having that rant just dropped in the way you did, and the style of it, smacks of spamming)

    • Deirdre Ewing

      The FBI leaked that some dude in a car had a listening device (probably an open lined cell phone, but who knows), this tells us they probably didn’t have anything worse than that.

      For sure, it’s very hard to wiretap this kind of phone system… there are too many wires to just pick the right one without a schematic they wouldn’t have. They didn’t have any bugging equipment, apparently.

      This blog repeated claims they are “busted”. Busted wiretapping phones? No… this blog has been busted, though, of not being fair.

      You don’t know what happened. I don’t know what happened. This person wasn’t there to tap any phones, though. That much is clear. Was he there to verify that Landrieu was lying about her phones being jammed? Was he doing an expose on lots of Senate offices (his last series went to several locations before announcing anything about any of them)?

      Was he doing what the MSM does all the time by showing that security is lax?

      The FBI has proof that ACORN conspires to defraud the government, to the point of helping people pimp kids. The DOJ says that’s totally cool. They say it’s OK for Black Panthers to intimidate voters with nightsticks. so perhaps it’s not very strong evidence that these men are released on such light bonds ($10,000). Even the unknowns.

      But maybe some idiot freaked out when it was clear O’Keefe had embarrassed them. Had the left blogosphere and MSNBC claim he was bugging phones, when that’s obviously not what happened (albeit, what did happen remains a mystery). This is just down the street from ACORN’s main HQ… this is the belly of the beast. There are many potential issues in play. It does seem stunning that O’Keefe would be ballsy and foolish enough to attempt some kind of operation in the heart of ACORN, where people probably know what he looks like.

      I agree that no man is above the law, and if O’Keefe committed an actual crime, he should be prosecuted. If he entered the building to investigate his Senator, and did no wiretapping, I don’t think it’s fair to say he entered under false pretenses. They need to prove that. People go to fed buildings all the time to see what’s up. Or protest.

      You’re saying this guy’s at fault for making the new media look bad. I think it’s you who is doing that by claiming, with no evidence, that this person is busted for bugging phones.

      Wait and see, and when it comes out that he didn’t try to bug any phones, correct your blog.

        What It’s Like to Chill Out With Whom the World Considers the Most Ruthless Men in the World Ratko Mladic, Radovan Karadzic and Goran Hadzic (+) Confessions of a Female War Crimes Investigator

        Retrospectively, it was all so simple, natural and matter of fact being on a boat restaurant in Belgrade, sitting with, laughing, drinking a two hundred bottle of wine and chatting about war and peace while Ratko Mladic held my hand. Mladic, a man considered the world’s most ruthless war criminal since Adolf Hitler, still at large and currently having a five million dollar bounty on his head for genocide by the international community. Yet there I was with my two best friends at the time, a former Serbian diplomat, his wife, and Ratko Mladic just chilling. There was no security, nothing you’d ordinarily expect in such circumstances. Referring to himself merely as, Sharko; this is the story of it all came about.

      Yeah I have to think that this guy lost his freakin mind when he starts trying this crap on sitting US Senators.

      To allow this to stand if he is in fact guilty of what he is alleged then that would be further encouraging anarchy in our streets.

      Its one thing to tape joe the plumber at the local bar talking about really being a democrat.

      Its another thing to do what this guy supposedly did. I’m still aghast that Joe the Plumber is really a democrat.

      I find it amusing that some people get so bent out of shape when civilians ‘tap’ the communications of government and government affiliates in an attempt to expose legitimate corruption, considering that the government spying and eavesdropping on the citizens is not only perfectly common but even sanctioned–and has been by both democrats and republicans. What’s good for the goose…

    • Alabama Moderate

      Gunny, I read it twice and maybe I missed it, but it’s also been reported that one of the kids arrested is the son of the Acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Louisiana.

      http://emptywheel.firedoglake.com/2010/01/26/teabuggergate-part-one/

      It also has a bit of a tie to Sen. David Vitter, who is currently trying to keep in place the Republican appointment who would normally be prosecuting these kids. It gets to be a rather tangled web, indeed. This isn’t as simple as just a bunch of grassroots kids, anymore.

    • F&B

      Looks like just another Saul Alinsky inspired distraction from Obama’s FAILED “presidency”.

      It was clear that the lifeless democrat party would have to come up with something after Scott Brown (R) took the Senate seat occupied by Ted Kennedy for so many years.

      I’m sure they’ll blow this way out of proportion, and by the end I’m sure it will be President Bush’s fault somehow. And the MSM will oblige by keeping this at the forefront of their daily reporting. (I’ll bet the MSM doesn’t even tell us when Sen. Brown is seated, but we’ll hear every little play-by-play detail about this contrived and rather innocuous story).

      The conspiracy theorists are already coming out of the woodwork.

      Spam – What exactly is it?

      In order to combat spam effectively it is necessary to define exactly what spam is.

      Most people believe that spam is unsolicitied email. However, this definition is not entirely correct and confuses some types of legitimate business correspondence with true spam.

      Spam is anonymous, unsolicited bulk email.

      This is the description that is being used today in the USA and Europe as a basis for the creation of anti-spam legislation. Let’s take a closer look at each component of the definition:

      * Anonymous: real spam is sent with spoofed or harvested sender addresses to conceal the actual sender.
      * Mass mailing: real spam is sent in mass quantities. Spammers make money from the small percentage of recipients that actually respond, so for spam to be cost-effective, the initial mails have to be high-volume.
      * Unsolicited: mailing lists, newsletters and other advertising materials that end users have opted to receive may resemble spam but are actually legitimate mail. In other words, the same piece of mail can be classed as both spam and legitimate mail depending on whether or not the user elected to receive it.

      It should be highlighted that the words ‘advertising’ and ‘commercial’ are not used to define spam.

      Many spam messages are neither advertising nor any type of commercial proposition. In additon to offering goods and services, spam mailings can fall into the following categories:

      * Political messages
      * Quasi-charity appeals
      * Financial scams
      * Chain letters
      * Fake spam being used to spread malware

      Unsoliticited but legitimate messages

      A legitimate commercial proposition, a charity appeal, an invitation addressed personally to an existing recipient or a newsletter can certainly be defined as unsolicited mail, but not as spam. Legitimate messages may also include delivery failure messages, misdirected messages, messages from system administrators or even messages from old friends who have previously not corresponded with the recipient by email. Unsolicited – yes. Unwanted – not necessarily.
      How to deal with spam

      Because unsolicited correspondence may be of interest to the recipient, a quality antispam solution should be able to distinguish between true spam (unsolicited, bulk mailing) and unsolicited correspondence. This kind of mail should be flagged as ‘possible spam’ so it can be reviewed or deleted at the recipient’s convenience.

      Companies should have a spam policy, with system administrators assessing the needs of different departments. Access to different unsolicited mail folders should be given to different user groups based on this assessment. For instance, the travel manager may well want to read travel ads, whereas the HR department may wish to see all invitations to seminars and training sessions.

        @jill starr, Jill

        You posted a huge more then likely cut and pasted article that you might have written but in which you most likely post at more then one website.

        Articles such as yours are most likely not welcome in the comments section unless they are directly in relation to the topic of the article.

        In this case its known as hijacking a thread in order to change the discussion from the article to the point or points the commentor would rather discuss.

        Either way your post might have merit but in this setting most likely NO ONES going to read it after the first few sentences realizing it has very little to do with the actual article being discussed.

      • Alabama Moderate

        @jill starr, Please, just stop. SPAM doesn’t merely apply to email, and yes, you are spamming. It’s actually more likely to turn people OFF to whatever issue you’re promoting. I know I’ve not given it any ouch of my own attention (outside of noting that obvious copy/paste is obvious) and in fact have decided that it’s not worth looking at. Had you posted to my site, you would have been deleted and banned after continuing to do this repeatedly.

        Now, if you have something to bring up, I’d suggest you email GTL about it or (heaven forbid) post it on your own blog. Hijacking a completely unrelated thread on someone else’s blog is considered to be very rude and akin to soliciting for [insert private business here] in the parking lot of your local high end department store.
