Of Hawaii’s Socialized Healthcare Sytem, Mr. Limbaugh Says: “The treatment I received here was the best that the world has to offer.“
The Service Employees International Union (“SEIU”) Christopher L. Doster pointed out yesterday, his hero Rush Limbaugh, after being hospitalized while vacationing in Hawaii for mysterious chest pains, took the opportunity upon his release to suggest the health care he received was proof-positive of no need for health care reform ObamaCare, stating:
“Based on what happened to me here, I don’t think there is one thing wrong with the American health care system. It is working just fine, just dandy.”
Unfortunately for Mr. Limbaugh and his political cause, he faiiled to realise ObamaCare is largely based upon the Great State of Hawaii’s current, reformed health care system — widely known as THE most progressive and socialized systems of any of our fifty states. OOPS. That one might leave a mark, eh?
Some bullet points to consider:
Hawaii requires all employees who work 20 or more hours per week to be given employer provided health care insurance — much more stringent than the Senate’s ObamaCare Bill, therefore; Hawaii has been exempted from this provision… Hawaii’s top three medical providers are already adopting electronic medical records… Much of Mr. Limbaugh’s “best in the world” health care at Queen’s Medical Center was provided by members of the Hawaii Nurses’ Association — of course, a labor union…

Doesn’t he have his own health insurance? I rather doubt that he has an 80/20, $5k deductible, policy through SUEYOU, um, SEIU.
You know, its funny how Conservatives (see O’Reilly) are always accused of putting a “spin” on the issues. Rush is guilty of “distorting” the facts, etc, etc. Hmmm, seems our own GTL needs to spend a little more time on google and a little less time watching MSNBC….Hawaii bankrupted and abandoned its attempt at state wide healthcare quite a while back. Abuse and budgetary problems resulted in it being dumped, and had NOTHING to do with the great care Rush received. Sorry GTL, but if you want to spin Obamacare, you have yet to find ONE example that govt controlled systems are the answer to an obvious problem. Getting govt OUT of the system is the answer…

“Seven months after instituting the only state child universal healthcare program in the country, Hawaii is dropping the plan. According to an AP article, the state could no longer afford the plan though it only enrolled about 2,000 of the state’s estimated 3,500 to 16,000 uninsured children.
The plan, which was funded through roughly equal payments by the state and the private Hawaii Medical Service Association (HMSA), the state’s largest healthcare provider, was supposed to cover all children without health insurance from birth to age 18 — “mostly immigrants and members of low-income families.” Care was free except for a $7 copay for each doctor’s visit. In conjunction with the cost of the plan, the state objected to the fact that families were dumping their private health insurance to enroll in the “free” plan.
The last is an inevitable occurrence when government tries to “manage” healthcare. The Cato Institute estimates that under the State Children’s Health Insurance Program (SCHIP) — a federally funded healthcare plan intended for children and run by states — up to 60 percent of the enrollees had dropped private coverage for “free” care. Freeloaders on the government dole are an unavoidable facet of government involvement in healthcare. So to are the end results of government involvement: rationing of care. This is true because people in public health programs perceive the care as free, and so they use them prolifically — for every twinge and ache – swamping the system.
The children who are no longer covered by the state healthcare plan can get insurance through HMSA for $55 per month or apply for Medicaid.”

Hawaii’s FAILED attempt at “universal” health care, or “Socialized medicine” is an excellent example of How and Why socialized medicine will FAIL at a national level.
If I have to pay more in taxes to support a “free” plan, I will definitely dump my private insurance and go on the dole, right along with everyone else. I’ll let someone else pay for my healthcare for a change.

Slightly off point, no one is even talking anymore about how Obama/Reid/Pelosi’s Socialist plans to destroy health care will put an end to the level of medical innovation to which we have become accustomed in the U.S.A.
For example, liberals talk incessantly about how Canada buys drugs from U.S. drug companies so much cheaper than people in the U.S. buy them. Listen to what you’re saying people, you can’t see the forest for the trees – Canada has to buy drugs from the U.S. !!!!! It is the U.S. that is creating the wonder drugs of the 20th and 21st centuries. This will come to an end under Obama’s Socialist regime – unless we end his regime first.

Nothing wrong with Employer provided health care. In fact it is what a vast majority of us have right now.
In fact if anything GTL this proves the CRISIS that EXISTS in the liberal lefts eye really doesnt exist at all because we all know now that the democrats and Obama have a plan.
CREATE A CRISIS and then solve it.

The health care bill proposed doesn’t provide health care, it mainly deals with payments and insurance. The point I want to bring up with regards to Rush’s assesment of Hawaiian health care is his praise has nothing to do with insurance or payments. As he shared on the radio today (Wednesday) he doesn’t have health insurance, he pays cash for all services. He is one of the uninsured Obama is trying to “help” with our tax money.
It has been nearly a year since Obama and his cronies stole the White House through ACORN’s rampant vote fraud. I would think the dem’s would be gearing up for a hellacious anniversary party. But that doesn’t seem to be happening.
Even after an entire year, even the dem’s realize that with Obama and the dem’s in power, there is nothing to celebrate.
Unless of course you want to celebrate Corruption, Incompetence, Greed, Failure, Lying, Immorality, Complacency, Ignorance, Contradictions, Lack of Transparency, and Catastrophe. And, Oh, did I mention Corruption, Incompetence, and Failure?
In other words, the cornerstones of the Obama “Presidency”.
