The GTL’s NFL Picks — Week 17, 2009

ATTENTION NFL FANS: These are PREVIOUS picks — go HERE to view the latest “expert” predictions for The GTL’s NFL Picks…

Previous Week (Week 16): (11-5)
Year To Date: 156-83
All-Time (2006 Through 2008 Combined Record): 335-195-1

The GTL uses his expert super-secret formula to pick the NFL Week Seventeen 2009 straight-up winners...Who’s in and who’s out? With the sole exception of the NFC East, all divisional winners have been locked down, which makes the Eagles versus the Cowboys game all that more interesting — whoever wins the game wins the division, thereby propelling (most likely) the loser to Wild Card status.

Speaking of wild card scenarios — don’t ask, just click HERE (Yahoo!) and start reading and let your imagination go wild (pun intended). Many great matchups and anything can happen in any given week but particularly in any given FINAL week in the National Football League as teams fight for dignity andrespect and the players fight to keep their jobs for the following year. Enjoy the football games — both the pros and the college bowl games and by all means, overindulge.

Last but not least, have a Happy and safe New Year weekend. 2010, here we come.

Colts gave up chance at a perfect season with healthy benching. Why would you think they will go into Cold Buffalo and put up a fight to a home team? Pretty much the same question could be made about the Saints game but they I’d argue they really need to get tuned up and stop their losing streak, however the eliminated Panthers have been playing very well lately and they are playing at home too. Good luck with those two picks. Regardless of the outcome I’m really charged up about watching many of the games this weekend! Particularly if Vikes can win at home against the eliminated Giants, should the Cowboys win…then it will be a 1st round bye for the Vikes baby! (Honestly, I’d like that but putting my money on the Eagles causing Dallas to choke again).

I’m still amazed at the Chargers record. Just kind of sneaked up there with no fanfare. Can’t disagree with your picks.

As an aside on a totally different subject:
