Truthdig Refers To Ms. Bachmann A “Welfare Queen”
Make certain when you look at a shiny object in one’s hand you also keep your eyes wide open for what MIGHT just be going on with the other hand. Such is the case with the vocal, outspoken, “anti-Marxist”, “Tea Bagging extraordinaire”, “anti-government”, “Birther leaning” G.O.P. shill from the Great State of Minnesota according to some investigative reporting from TruthDig:

Michele Bachmann has become well known for her anti-government tea-bagger antics, protesting health care reform and every other government “handout” as socialism. What her followers probably don’t know is that Rep. Bachmann is, to use that anti-government slur, something of a welfare queen. That’s right, the anti-government insurrectionist has taken more than a quarter-million dollars in government handouts thanks to corrupt farming subsidies she has been collecting for at least a decade.

But data compiled from federal records by Environmental Working Group, a nonprofit watchdog that tracks the recipients of agricultural subsidies in the United States, shows that Bachmann has an inner Marxist that is perfectly at ease with profiting from taxpayer largesse. According to the organization’s records, Bachmann’s family farm received $251,973 in federal subsidies between 1995 and 2006. …
So, now we know the TRUTH about Congresswoman Bachmann — she’s a socialist herself and perhaps even the first one in line when it comes time to hold that dainty little hand of hers out for those “free gub’mint” tax dollars of ours. Typical. And yep — typical of the politicians of BOTH parties when it gets down to it…
The moral of this story is DIG — dig like TruthDig did and study the voting patterns of these phonies. Bring those cell phone camcorders with you and hang out close enough to catch them in action. When you see these so-called “representatives” of ours in a restaurant, break out the ole’ cell phone and watch how they treat their servers — do they treat them as equals? If so, they’re falling short of their TRUE position of YOUR public servant. If not, and if they treat the help as if they are “below” them, publish it and share the incident(s) with your fellow Americans for all to see on the Internets. Cam phone or not, your written description is just as helpful, as there are always witnesses to corroborate the story for you.
Tired of these phonies on Capitol Hill, I am. And you? A quarter of a million dollars in Federal assistance for this gasbag? REALLY? Keep this in mind for Election 2010, dear readers…

To be honest I have not paid much attention to Ms. Bachman. It does seem however that any woman who shows conservative spunk is a marked target by liberals. It just would not do for Republicans to put the first lady in the Oval Office.
Maybe a valid point, but the subsidy is a rather minor point. Her pay check and every member of congress’s salary is a government hand out in that respect. She gets more government money in salary in two years than the subsidy. If you think social security was wrong for this country, should you decline social security checks if you someday qualify? I think it would be a greater inditement against her if she tried to create or expand existing subsidies. But if someone were to ever run an agricultural operation and out of “priciple” declined money entitled by government programs, no doubt that person would still be accused of having obtained ill gotten gains some other way “off the backs of the proletariat”.
And if she were not taking advantage of that subsidy, the same muck raking yellow journalist would be going on about how stupid she is to not take advantage of it.
Let’s look at the other side – Lynn Woolsey was a welfare queen. Babs “I’m too important to be called Ma’am” Boxer finagled a $20 million picnic shoulder for her sons company. Di “I’m important so I need a gun, you are just a commoner so you don’t” Feinstein funneled billions of dollers in business to the foreign companies her husband was an (unregistered) agent for.

Your missing the point here. This egregious behavior is to be expected from Democrats. They make no bones about being Marxist and socialists. They have no compunction to taking kickbacks, bribes and all manner of scummy back room dealings. See modern day Russia for an example of how the Marxist politicians worked their pork magic.

But if someone stands up and rails against government handouts and then takes a few themselves in the ordinary custom of doing their business fairly and honestly then they are two faced, scum sucking hypocrits who most likely have roots in the Aryan movement.
For a democrat to be a scumbag is to be expected. Hell its totally within the bounds of necessity…see Harry Reid…. and there are no apologies needed. For a Republican to be less then rock solid is an egregious crime of galactic proportions.
One can only laugh at this article. They spend 2 pages railing against Ms. Bachman and then say oh but the Democrats do it too without even so much as a howdy do or indictment of any kind.
Democrats are expected to be crooks and cheats. Old news. The MSM just cant wait to dig up the dirt on a Republican though. Thats what they are doing here. Even though this is beyond silly since she is not taking welfare but is rather doing what the government asks her to do in NOT planting certain crops in order to keep the market propped up for that specific commodity.
Welfare….hardly…this is an example of the government exchanging a contract with a business partner. She could plant and could make most likely MORE money by not taking the subsidy. Silliness and a glib effort to alinskize Ms. Bachman.
@Doomed, I agree, is really so easy to point at the faults of Dodd, Rangle,Frank, and Shumer that it makes it almost silly to even mention. I don’t remember the quote but Barney was quite frank when he said essentially, if people wanted better reps in congress, they should elect better reps.

This is another classic mentality of the Left that the Right is somehow haters of the poor.
The poor and the weary are not the friends of the Democrats and the Democrats are NOT the friends to poor people. Quite the opposite.
The Democratic party only needs poverty, weak, poor and downtrodden in this country to continue to be relevant. Because once the poor are NO longer poor then they are NO longer beholden to the system.
Let me repeat that.
Once the poor are NO longer poor they are no longer beholden to the system that keeps them perpetually poor.
Health care for all…the poor will still be poor.
Food Stamps………..The poor are still poor.
Housing……………The poor are still poor.
Busing…………….The poor are still poor.
Democrats might have other redeeming qualities but their perpetual infatuation with poverty and then doing absolutely NOTHING about it is disconcerting.
The GOP has the opportunity to go after poverty while the Democrats use poverty to make themselves relevant by making poverty comfortable.
They dont fix it. They make it more comfortable to be poor and therefore have no desire to move up and become reliant upon themselves instead of a system whose very existence is designed to keep them poor so that they are relevant.
The GOP has more of a solution then they realize…they just seem to think of poor people as diseased or something…Im not sure why the GOP has allowed themselves to be painted this way but I can tell you this.
Health care for poor people is another example of the Democrats MAKING POVERTY MORE COMFORTABLE.
And when we move on guess what…YEP…the poor will still be poor and Republicans will have been painted as HATERS OF THE POOR.
