Gun Toting Liberal Sunday guest columnist and author Christopher L. Doster uses humor wit sarcasm to attack the Democratic Congress Senate and health care reform...GTL™ Sunday Guest Columnist: Author And “Moderately-Right-Of-Center” Political Pundit, Christopher L. Doster, Employs His Wit, Sarcasm And Conservative Sense Of Humor To Attack The Democratic Congress, Senate, President Obama And Their Health Care Reform Bill…

“All I Want For Christmas Is My FREE Health Care”

Like a nerdy Santa creeping down the proverbial fireplace, Harry Reid and his “elves” in the Senate plan to give Americans a Christmas Eve gift that keeps on giving…healthcare for a lifetime (MSNBC)!

“Don’t open till Xmas” now has new meaning, thanks to those Democrat “public servants” controlling the House, Senate, and the South Pole in D.C. Under the tree this year, hidden by festive paper and bows, is a 2000 plus page package that most Americans want as much as another pair of socks (Rasmussen).

It used to be that the historical Santa checked to see if you were good or bad, before you got a Christmas present. That is of course, unless you’re a key Senator whose vote can decide the future of health care in this country. Senator Ben Nelson first said “NO” to the proposed bureaucratic nightmare the Democrats call “reform”, but later changed his vote. Compliments of the Santa’s in the Senate, he got a “basket of goodies” (Reason Magazine) for his state that epitomizes what’s wrong with Washington. Nebraska will get more in their stockings, while the rest of the country gets coal. This is “change” Mr. President, a “new direction for politics in America”? Unless you mean changing “Ho Ho Ho” to “Who Who Who”, as in whose vote can we buy…

Before Scrooge Harry and his evil elves in the Senate can force this country to open the “gift” they’ve been crafting in their hidden workshop, congress must approve this massive power grab. Mrs. Pelosi Claus wears the pants in over in that frozen part of the D.C. pole (Washington Times — so much for global warming).

Upon becoming the first female speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi promised that Democrats were ready to lead with Republicans “not in partisanship.” Moreover, she promised “Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open and most ethical Congress in history.” (StatePress.Com)

We shall see just how many members of Congress flip flop on their votes, just how much pork is stuffed into respective districts. Sadly, these “gifts” will most likely decide the fate of “health reform” in this country. Like The Grinch That Stole Christmas, Pelosi and her gang have a plan to steal Christmas, regardless of their proposed “good intentions” (YouTube Video).

Some say Christmas has become too commercialized; we have forgotten the “reason for the season”. Seems politicians have forgotten that they work for us, and it’s the thought that counts when it comes to gift giving. The thought behind “free health care for all” seems more about control and less about care

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a good night…just don’t be surprised when you wake up the next morning, you have a gift you can’t exchange… — This Sunday Column was penned by the one and only CLD

Although I share your views on sell-outs and pork, I don’t share ALL your views on healthcare reform. That said, as always, very well written my friend and I loved the dry humor I’ve (and our readers) have become well accustomed to. Blog ON and thanks again for your Sunday Column contribution as always :-)

Oh, and PLEASE stop the bleeding. I’m becoming more and more concerned with that ;-)

@The GTL™, In a statement released last week, the Europol police agency said Europe’s cap-and-trade system has been the victim of organized crime during the past 18 months, resulting in losses of roughly $7.4 billion. The agency, headquartered in the Netherlands, estimated that in some countries up to 90 percent of the entire market volume was caused by fraudulent activities.

Nothing the left sells is legitimate. Healthcare is a monsterous joke.

The Democrats are nothing but PERPETUAL PURVEYORS OF POVERTY.

It is the only way they are relevant.

My, how CYNICAL you are! I fully expect to be glued to my TV wathcing C-SPAN for every second of the joint meeting to work out the differences between the House and Senate versions. And I can’t wait for the full reading of the resulting 5000+ page documet.

And how dare you mischaracterize as

proposed bureaucratic nightmare the Democrats call “reform”

a bill that creates only about 180 new offices, departmenmts, an bureaus? Why, we are getting a bargain! Not only free heath care paid for by surcharges on ‘the rich,’ but it is also a JOBS PROGRAM! You have criticized the former junior senator from IL for not creating jobs, well, this will go a long way towards providing the jobs he promised. Why, this should create several hundred thousand jobs. And, think how good it will be for parts of the private sector, especially the paper industry. All those forms to be filled out, all the information packets to be printed in 6 or 7 (dozen) languages. Not only the paper industry, but print shops, letterpress shops, shipping companies will all benefit.

You, sir, need to get down to the Ministry of Truth for some serious reeducation.

It bothers me that I can’t tell if this is satire or not.

  • Joe Lovell

    Totally off topic: http://rotunda.upress.virginia.edu/founders/default.xqy?keys=FOEA-print&mode=TOC

Some good reading in there. Can’t wait for them to get all of Jeffersons letters posted.

    • CLD

@Joe Lovell, Oh come on Joe, how can you go from being my cynical partner, to changing the subject…again? Come on man, do I need to have the federal bureau of ADD have you wait in line for a few months to get some govt. meds?

  • Doomed

Our Federal government is scheduling a vote a 1 am in the morning when all Americans are sleeping.

Our Federal Government has become Unconstitutional.

    • Doomed

@Doomed, Gov. Dave Heineman “contacted me and he said this is another unfunded federal mandate and it’s going to stress the state budget, and I agreed with him,” the Nebraska Democrat Ben Nelson said.

Another UNFUNDED MANDATE and the DEMOCRAT AGREED….that is his words not anyone elses.

Yet the MSM and the democrats continue with….this is all paid for, it will lower the deficit…we will all be casting olive branches at Harry Reid in a decade….

      Blah…blah….blah…Democrats lied and America died.

  • SJ

    Hey all,

I probably should be paying more attention this, but haven’t. From what I understand (little), the benefits (and thus the true cost) of this legislation is pushed out several years, but the taxes start immediately. Seriously, for GTL and other libs, is there anything good in this bill that people will actually notice next year?

Now, from a pure political standpoint, the Democrats simply HAVE to pass something. They are cleary outspending the Bush administration so they need SOMETHING (ANYTHING) to distact the public from the huge deficits. When this passes, the spin machine will go into overtime to convince independents to stay on board and minimize their losses in 2010.

    • CLD

@SJ, Watch what they do rather than whay they say…How the Liberal Dems (or all Dems at this point) can deny that thier intent is a complete takeover of America, is tantamount to the greatest deception in history. It is socialism, it is about control, not “care”…

    • CLD

@SJ, I think what concern me as much is when intelligent people like you SJ can even make a statement like “I probably be paying more attention to this”…Good God, what else could you possibly be paying attention to, Dancing with the Stars or some other mind numbing sit-com…That my friend, is how we got those bozos in control of OUR money and Government…wake up…

      • Joe Lovell

@CLD, Could be that he just hit saturation, CLD. With all the goings on recently, sometimes you just need to stop absorbing something.

I should probably stop absorbing beer, chips & salsa.

        • SJ

          @Joe Lovell,

I hear ya Joe. I absorbed a few wings last night.

CLD, I’m an engineer (exp in energy and defense industries) and it is hard for me to focus on Healthcare issues. I count on guys like you to keep me informed :-) . Too many years of being fat, dumb and happy in big corporation health plans I guess.

  • Mike 300 spartans

I may be against this health care ‘reform” bill, but these accusations that congress votes can be “bought” is salacious. The 2009 salary for representatives and senators is $174K a year.
    http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/uscongress/a/congresspay.htm
If their votes could be bought, why aren’t a lot of them millionaires? Er, ah…well, perhaps I spoke too soon. :)
