ATTENTION NFL FANS: These are PREVIOUS picks — go HERE to view the latest “expert” predictions for The GTL’s NFL Picks…
Previous Week (Week 9): (7-6)
Year To Date: 82-47
All-Time (2006 Through 2008 Combined Record): 335-195-1…
Here we go — time for those short weeks with the Thursday Night Football games starting right here in NFL Week 10 with the Niners taking on Da’ Bearss in the City By The Bay (the game will be broadcast on The NFL Network). Doesn’t give us much time to evaluate and watch out for key injuries, key news, etc., but heck, I’ll just do my best.
So far, while my straight up “expert” picks have been hanging around the usual 64% on the year, I’m embarrassed to say I’ve only gotten 7 wins in each of the past two weeks (Weeks 8 and 9). What’s happened? Well, the simple answer is — a bunch of upsets. And this week, despite my ironclad locks, do NOT be surprised if the undefeated New Orleans Saints andOR the undefeated Indianapolis Colts go down to opponents they have no “bidness” losing to. It’s just that time of the year, yannow? Any given Sunday (Thursday, Saturday, Monday, etc.).
Oh well, despite the lack of time to deeply analyze, hopefully I’ll do better this week than I have the last couple of weeks on my predictions. Nowhere but up, correct?
So, with no further adeiu, my straight up National Football League Week Ten predictions. Oh, and don’t bet the house or it’s YOUR fault, not mine:

I’m picking my Giants not to lose this week.
Gotta go with the Bears tonight.
And the Bolts on Sunday, they are at home after all.
And the Raiders.. .. .. ..-./../-.-./-.-//crap – they’ll find some way to stupid their way to a loss.
@Joe Lovell, Well, crap. The 9ers brought their B game, but it seems Da Bears only paced their C game.
@Joe Lovell, Cardiac Kids II, I’m tellin’ ya! Go NINERS!
Wow… got some balls for taking Green Bay over Dallas… TheCoach has no trust in a team that just lost to the Bucs (a team many thought would be 0-16)

Sheesh! Talk about a bunch of upsets!!! A dismal 4-5 coming into the afternoon games
@The GTL™, Goodgawdalmighty! What happened to you, Guns?
Three of the afternoon games are too darned close to call right now. The one that isn’t, the Bolts are beating up on the Eagles.
@Joe Lovell, Well, looks like the afternoon has worked out a TAD bit better for me — lookin’ like 7-6 going into SNF and MNF (assuming the trends continue). If I can nail those, 9-6 isn’t TOO bad (60%). Then again, wish in one hand and sh&& in the other and see which one fills up the fastest, right?
@The GTL™, Well, the GawdamphuckinRaiders managed to beat themselves. Again.
@Joe Lovell, How about those cardiac-ers from the Colts? SHEESH!!! What a MNF finish!!! Okay, feelin’ better — 8-6 and ROOTIN’ for Ravens tomorrow night (MNF)! GO BOIDS!!!!
@The GTL™, That was a cliff hanger finish. Gotta love games like that no matter how they come out.
On the other side of the coin: http://www.pressdemocrat.com/article/20091115/SPORTS/911159989 about the Raiders/Chiefs comedy show
@Joe Lovell, No doubt! What a great game to watch! CLD left in the 4th (tattlin’ on ya, bro!) with Indie 17 pts down and I hung to the end
@The GTL™, I hate it when I do that. “Well, crap, looks like it’s pretty much over.” And miss the best 10 minutes of football all weekend.
@Joe Lovell, CLD left early again tonight (16-0, Ravens) but he made the right call for once (j/k, Chris!)…
What a BORING freaking GAME though, eh? Oh well, pulled it out (sorta) — 9-6 on NFL Week Number 10 despite a HORRIBLE start in the early games
It looks like Eli May be hurting a little more than was originally reported. Maybe that will help him throw a couple more picks. This is definitely a winable game the way the giants have been playing lately. Time to create some distance in the division.
@scott, You should be posting this on the Week 12 comments, Scott…
This does not look good. If you have issues with a guy, then it needs to be dealt with internally. Questioning your quarterback on his toughness is a bad idea. Get back on track by winning big this week.
How the heck could they drop that game. You simply do not let jacobs catch a 70 yard TD pass. It looks like another december to forget. Time for a house cleaning.
