The GTL’s NFL Picks — Week 9, 2009

November 6th, 2009 · 12 Comments · Sports

ATTENTION NFL FANS: These are PREVIOUS picks — go HERE to view the latest “expert” predictions for The GTL’s NFL Picks…

Previous Week (Week 8): (7-6)
Year To Date: 75-41
All-Time (2006 Through 2008 Combined Record): 335-195-1

The GTL uses his expert super-secret formula to pick the NFL Week Nine 2009 straight-up winners...After all these weeks of Terrell Owens keeping his mouth shut and being a team player, he went on the record (USAToday) before the mainstream media (“MSM”) to GUARANTEE a victory this weekend. Nope, he wasn’t daft enough to guarantee a Bills victory over anybody — the hapless Bills of course, have a bye week. Instead, he joins myself in predicting an Eagles win over the Cowboys — two teams he’s recently played for and two teams I couldn’t really give a rat’s petootie about. Nevertheless, T.O. says the ‘Boys will beat the ‘Birds. I agree. For what that might be worth at this point?

Lots of great NFL Week Nine matchups this weekend. We all know this already, of course, so I’m not going to pretend I’m the smartest guy in the room since I’m only riding about a 64% straight up NFL winner percentage this year. Typical? Yeah. Something to brag about? Yeah. Bet your house? Don’t be an idiot…

Now, onto my NFL Sunday and Monday “expert” picks:

I wonder how the Raiders will manage to get a loss this weekend too.

And, i got a virtual beer that says the Bolts take it from the Giants.

Heh… I’m not a betting man but even if I were, I’d pause for quite a MINUTE before taking the Giants over the Boltz — close to a tossup there, bro ;-)

Another hijack! I don’t want to get to silly on the Ft. Hood thread, so I’ll put this here.

If something like this had happened under Pres. Bush, and it was found that “a close presidential advisor” had been the guy on the trigger, it would have been front page, 144 point type the next day. And can you imagine the cries for impeachment?

I’m NOT trying to belittle what happened at Ft. Hood. I’m just contrasting how I believe the media treated Pres. Bush with how it treats the former junior senator from IL.

Yep, you did pretty damned good with the early games, 50/50 on the afternoon games. Still have night games.

The SD/Giants I think came down to the penalties. Giants had 8 and near 100 yards. SD only 3. And even then, came down to a last minute TD.
