Neoconservative President Barack Hussein Obama Changes Tune On Iran In The Wake Of “Shocking Revelations” — We Just Might Have To Bombard Ahmadinejad And Iran Into Smithereens After All…

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Bomb Nukes Obama Neocon Google Earth Intelligence Neoconservative President Barack Hussein Obama Changes Tune On Iran In The Wake Of Shocking Revelations We Just Might Have To Bombard Ahmadinejad And Iran Into Smithereens After All...Satellites Orbiting All Around The World, Google Earth, And Every Other “Intelligence” Item At Their Disposal — World Leaders, Including President Obama Suddenly “Shocked” and “Torqued Off” At “Secret” Iranian Nuke Facility…

I’ve gone on the record to praise President B.H. Obama for wishing to enter into “unconditional bilateral talks” with Iran. I’ve also gone on the record to criticize the president for his blantant disregard of our Founding Fathers’ collective, unanimous solidarity in creating a nation of laws with a separatist point of view when it comes to the topic of foreign affairs. I should have known from the moment he selected former Wal-Mart Director and Republican activist (always was, always WILL be a neoconservative), Sir Hillary Rodham Clinton to become his Secretary of State this man we call our “president” was nothing more than a “Bush II” neocon. And I’ll just BET I’m not the ONLY Liberal who sees it that way, am I?

Now, according to the New York Times, not only President Obama, but the leaders of France and Great Britain were SHOCKED — just SHOCKED, I tell you, soon after some redneck from my (now) Great State Of Alabama zoomed in on Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s neighborhood via Google Earth, took this screenshot, and emailed it to all of those three and four-letter agencies under their control. Can we say “uproar“? That would be an understatement.

Now it’s looking like WW-III is about to commence due to the fact that allied intelligence appears to be an oxymoron, just like “U.S. intelligence” is these days. Either that, or the guy’s sitting on buttloads of oil. Not sure which would be the case, are you?

LOL. More change we can believe in.

      • GawdDayumAmerica

        @Joe Lovell,

The change that we can believe in can be exemplified easily.

“Alinsky viewed revolution as a slow, patient process. The trick was to penetrate existing institutions such as churches, unions and political parties.” He advised organizers and their disciples to quietly, subtly gain influence within the decision-making ranks of these institutions, and to introduce changes from that platform. This was precisely the tactic of “infiltration” advocated by Lenin and Stalin.[3] As Communist International General Secretary Georgi Dimitroff told the Seventh World Congress of the Comintern in 1935:

“Comrades, you remember the ancient tale of the capture of Troy. Troy was inaccessible to the armies attacking her, thanks to her impregnable walls. And the attacking army, after suffering many sacrifices, was unable to achieve victory until, with the aid of the famous Trojan horse, it managed to penetrate to the very heart of the enemy’s camp.”

Remember Bill Clinton? He was the first to use the Alinsky playbook. Convince them your a moderate until its too late. His wife wrote her college thesis on Saul Alinsky. Bill Clinton most certainly struck a deal with Jesse Jackson and the rainbow coalition to be quiet until after the election. Just as Obama most certainly struck a deal with Michael Moore and Moveon.org to remain rational and non inflamatory till after the election.

        Enter…….

“To the Democrats in Congress who don’t quite get it: I want to offer a personal pledge. I – and a lot of other people – have every intention of removing you from Congress in the next election if you stand in the way of health care legislation that the people want,” Moore said.

The left is dusting off the Alinsky field manual again it seems. This time to use on their own people.

Good thing right wing airhead Sarah Palin isn’t President. She’s apparently on an “apologize for America” tour, blaming the U.S. for the global financial crisis:

“We got into this mess because of government interference in the first place,” she said about government intervention to solve the crisis the deregulated financial sector started.

      http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2009/09/23/palin-hong-kong-speech-im_n_295812.html

      http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125368057547633229.html

She showed up at the event obnoxiously claiming to speak for “Main Street, USA.” No wonder several people walked out in disgust.

Speaking for Main Street, USA, Sarah, I can say to you: Go to hell. Or somewhere. Just go away. What a stupid bitch.

      • vegofish

@bad dog, so you are pissed because she is correct? actually not just government interference, progressive liberal interference into government would more correctly describe the failings. You can always tell when Ms. Palin is correct. One of the pre-programed useful idiots jumps up and yells some disgusting personal insult.

        • bad dog

@vegofish, No, I was just annoyed that she decided to fly to another country to diss her own country and her President, which is facing both a major financial crisis and is fighting two wars. You right wingers may want to to China and apologize for your country, but not real patriots. If she had albums out, I would organize a CD burning.

NEW YORK (CNN) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev met Wednesday with U.S. President Barack Obama, then signaled he could support sanctions against Iran over its efforts to develop a nuclear weapon.

As for the Russians and the Chinese knowing about these facilities?

My guess is they are helping to build them. The Russians are signaling their intent to get on board the Obama freight train is a boost to the sagging Obama foreign policy all the while continuing their work on building these facilities in Iran.

Why would they suddenly make such a dramatic shift in policy?

Russia says it has scrapped plans to deploy missiles in a region near Poland after U.S. President Barack Obama canceled plans for a missile defense system in Central Europe.

I think everyone underestimated the impact this shield was having upon Russia. Their gratitude is in outwardly at least appearing willing to help Obama and make him look good with his base.

Will they actually do anything concrete? Highly doubtful but hey….everyone loves Obama right??(This is a slap at the pathetic grovelling the left has done constantly over Obama and anything he said or did that might make all those ferners love us.)

    • William Teach

I think the question is, at what point do we or some other country, or countries, have to destroy the nuke plants?

Nice bit of Palin Derangement Syndrome that has nothing to do with the question at hand, Bad Dog.

      • bad dog

@William Teach, You must not come here often. The regular right wing commenters comment off-topic all the time. I’m just following their lead. I’ll let them know you think they’re jerks. Good one about Palin’s derangement, though. She really is deranged.

      • vegofish

@William Teach, Dog is a newby Teach, he is quick to change the subject or shout insults when his debate fails,
        which is frequently.

        • bad dog

@vegofish, You’re just mad that you and CLD aren’t the only whinypants on the site anymore. Now you have another effeminate right winger named William Teach to join you in your whiny little tantrums.

By the way, anytime you want to actually DEBATE, other than make arrogant, grandiose speeches about how you love America and if only liberals would join you in that quest for a greater nation, then insult anybody who calls you on your crap, then bring it on.

Until then, you are, what you have always been, a little whiny gnat on my day.

      • Fandb

@William Teach, Hey William Teach, “Bad Dog” is right, you should come around more often. Most of the conservative ‘regulars’ around here are pretty sure that “Bad Dog” is GTL’s alter ego. Something he adopted to reveal the idiocy demonstrated by the far left in its blind adherence to the mindless dogma they preach. Stick around though, “Bad Dog” is always good for a few laughs, or at least you can get caught up on Rachel Maddow’s latest talking points.

Not much substance though, its more like a chihuahua with a megaphone.

    • William Teach

Actually, I do come here often, for a long time. This site is on my feedreader, and I often link GTL in my Sunday Pinup post.

Now, you can whine about “conservatives do it all the time,” or, you can discuss the topic.

@William Teach, I was simply responding to your whining that I said something off-topic.

But I withdraw my request that a wingnut show consistent principle. I know that’s too much to ask. My bad!

I will eagerly await your next tantrum the next time I break your rules of conduct that only apply to liberals. Thanks for sharing!

WWIII started the day Al Qaeda flew two passenger jets into the World Trade Center.

The terrorists had been waging a war against the west for some time, but this incident marked the beginning of the west fighting back.

The U.S. and Europe and our allies (e.g. Israel) now have a tough choice to make. We either let Iran develop nuclear weapons, and hasten the escalation of WWIII to include the use of nukes. Or we prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons and delay the escalation, maybe even delay it indefinitely.

Any rational person will see that choice number 2 is the only sensible choice. Then the question becomes, how do we do it? How do we prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons? Again, I see two options: (1) pure diplomacy, which, in light of Iran’s recent history and knowledge of their current leadership is bound to fail; or (2) military action.

The military option can take various forms, and can include some level of diplomacy. We cannot rely on Europe’s help in this. The current U.S. administration has to face the cold hard reality of the situation. It will be up to us, the U.S. We can rely on Israel’s help, but we can’t rely on anyone else. Do we allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons or not. If we don’t act soon, it will quickly be too late to stop them. This is no time for weak leadership. The U.S. must act, and act soon.

      • bad dog

        @Fandb, No thanks.

        • Fandb

@bad dog, Don’t worry, I’m sure Canada won’t help either.

          • bad dog

@Fandb, That’s a nice thing to say about a country whose soldiers have been fighting and dying in Afghanistan for the last eight years. In Canada, we call people like you “ungrateful jerks.”

Do you have same word for that to make in America?

            • Fandb

@bad dog, You are right. Canada is one the best, if not the best ally the U.S. has.

              Though not all Canadians are.

But the question remains, since you would be willing to allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, which would undoubtedly be used against the U.S. and/or our allies, Why do you Hate America?

              • bad dog

@Fandb, And I should point out that not all Americans are ungrateful jerks. In fact, I can say for a fact that the number of ungrateful jerks does not exceed the population of right wing teabagging wackjobs. FACT.

“But the question remains, since you would be willing to allow Iran to develop nuclear weapons, which would undoubtedly be used against the U.S. and/or our allies, Why do you Hate America?”

Here we go again. Right down to the smug rhetorical question about who loves America with the sole qualification of loving America being willing to support another mindless war in the Middle East we’ll all regret later, and which will further bankrupt the country.

By the way, next time you say, “Well NOT ME, I never called anybody a traitor (so it must have never happened to anybody anywhere at any time)”, now you don’t get to say that anymore.

Let’s not get healthcare, let’s piss our money up a tree on another war! Vote Republican! Weeeeeeeeee!

              • vegofish

@Fandb, Of course they are our best ally, what choice do they have? They can talk like they are a real country, but inside they understand they are subservient to, and dependent upon the US for their well being. It’s nice of us to let them do their socialist thing, I mean we wouldn’t want a bunch of red headed, welfare sucking whiners down here fighting with illegal Mexicans for free hand outs. When it comes down to it, everybody knows who the big dog is. Everybody knows the little dog will yip and snarl to make everyone think he is the bad dog, but when confronted by the big dog the little dog tucks his tail and does what he is told.

Also dog it appears you are confused about health care in the US, we dont need to “get healthcare” we already have it, and it’s the good stuff, not government clinic healthcare, the good stuff, the kind of health care people from all over the world, including canada come to get. I like to call it “Freedom Care”. So maybe if the country would like to spend it’s money “pissing up a tree” to make the world a safer place for everyone instead of giving free health care to criminal invaders to our country, you should be thanking us instead of whining.

                • bad dog

@vegofish, As for having a choice, Canada made a choice, which was not to support a stupid war that most people now agree was stupid. As for being dependent on the U.S., Canada has a population and economy 1/10 of the size of the U.S., so your bragging, albeit childish, is founded on something, but not much. Canada’s health system, for example, produces a higher life expectancy and lower infant mortality than the U.S., so you can suck on that the next time you masturbate to Ayn Rand. As for free handouts, I think you have Canadians confused with Americans, who cross the border in droves each year trolling for free healthcare that Canadians, who have a real health system, have to pay for. And as for making the world a safer place, how’s that working out for you? I’m sure giving up a public health insurance option and wasting the money on invading Iran instead will make the world even safer. Not.

    • vegofish

why should we be specifically “grateful” for Canada. Isn’t in their interest as much as anyone’s to stop the spread of progressive liberal fascism? Oop’s, well, I guess they already blew that one. Well I meant to say isn’t it in their own interest to stop the spread of Islamic radicalism? Or is that just the United States job to do that? The United States should be grateful that others will send a token effort to protect their own self interests while Americans die for their safety?

Ya we call it the same thing, ungrateful jerks.

      • bad dog

@vegofish, If there were such a thing as “progressive liberal fascism,” Canada might take an interest in it, but since it’s just a weird imaginary concept in your fruitloop wingnut mythology, I doubt their best minds are working on the problem any more than they are working on the threat of angry unicorn princess sparkle ponies.

By the way, you might want to crack open a book, namely the dictionary, and learn what “liberalism” and “fascism” mean before you falsely conflate the two. Fascism is an expression of right wing ideology. But since liberalism is Pandora’s Box in your loony theology, all evil things come from liberalism, so Hitler must have come from liberalism, too, even though he was putting liberals in concentration camps. Just your kind of guy, right?

Regarding the spread of Islamic radicalism, well, that depends. Canada is famous for its contribution to peacekeeping missions, so they do their part. If Islamic radicalism flies planes into American buildings, Canada will rise to support its ally, as happened after 9/11.

The only problem there, Vego, is Iraq was not a radical Islamic state. It has lurched far towards becoming one thanks to George Bush, who was the best friend Iran ever had, but it was not before we invaded. You know how most Americans today, now that they know the reasons for the optional, expensive, bloody, stupid war and occupation of Iraq were just horsesh**, believe the war was not worth fighting? Well, Canada didn’t have to wait several years, like the American Left (and real conservatives like Ron Paul), to come to the same obvious conclusion.

Which brings me back to my central point, which is that people like you and FandB, in Canada, would be considered ungrateful jerks, particularly by the families of servicemen killed in Afghanistan fighting a war Bush never cared about—you know, the war that actually should have been fought properly because it was a direct responses to the World Trade Center Attacks.

But somebody had to “make a run for Iraq’s oil,” as you put it, since it was just sitting there, so I guess you’re happy with the way things turned out—America’s President lying to his own citizens, pushing the country into an expensive war under false pretenses, just so oil companies could buy Iraq’s oil reserves cheap.

        • vegofish

@bad dog, If it makes you feel better I’ll drop the Progressive liberal part and start reffering to your philosophy for what it is, fascism. By definition.

Here is the most comprehensive definition I have found,
From Paxton’s “the anatomy of fascism”

A form of political behavior marked by obsessive preoccupation with community decline, humiliation or victimhood and by compensatory cults of unity, energy and purity, in which a mass-based party of committed nationalist militants, working in uneasy but effective collaboration with traditional elites, abandons democratic liberties and pursues with redemptive violence and without ethical or legal restraints goals of internal cleansing and external expansion.

          Sound familiar? It should.
          progressivism=modern liberalism=fascism= progressive liberal fascism.

        • Fandb

@bad dog, So how does a self-described “liberal” such as yourself reconcile the comments above with the fact that Saddam Hussein and many in his government were murderous thugs who routinely raped and killed thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of people every year?

          Just curious.

          • bad dog

@Fandb, And how do racists reconcile spending huge sums from the Treasury to help some suffering brown people thousands of miles away?

(Not saying you’re a racist, by the way.)

First let me answer your question. There is no evidence Saddam was killing hundreds of thousands of people each year. Hundreds, maybe, thousands, maybe during periodic purges, but not hundreds of thousands. He was hardly Hitler or otherwise the most brutal tyrant of current times. But he was still 1) a dictator and 2) his regime used violence to silence the opposition. So I would naturally like to see 1) democracy spread and 2) innocent people not die needlessly. But what was the cost?

In my view, it wasn’t worth the cost. Forget the millions of refugees, the horrible living conditions for millions more, millions of children living in fear, general lawlessness and the rise of fundamentalist militias, the hundreds of thousands dead as a result of the occupation. It wasn’t worth the cost just to the U.S. And I’d bet $10 you agree with me. Do you know how I know that? Darfur. Let’s invade eastern Africa, stop the warlords and petty dictators there from causing mass famine that is killing millions.

No? Why not? Aren’t we supposed to be the world’s superhero now? Aren’t we supposed to invade every country that might develop a nuclear bomb and every country that has a brutal dictator?

No? Then what’s special about Iraq? And don’t tell me “it was easier than other invading somebody else,” because I’m not one of your ditthohead friends with an IQ below 90.

That’s the weird thing about the Iraq War. During the runup to the war, nobody ever said, “Is this really in our national interest?”

My answer was no. Any gains for anybody would not be worth the cost.

            • vegofish

@bad dog, Oil, it’s not a secret; we all know the difference between the persecuted in the Middle East and the persecuted elsewhere. It’s all about oil.
Really isn’t the argument about how important the oil is, rather than all the rest of this ideological BS? Just another way the left persists in the face of fallacy. Green jobs, alternative energies, enough for all, cheap and easy. Its FANTASY folks.
The most promising technologies, which will probably be abandoned within ten years for the next most promising technologies, are still in the CONCEPTION stage. No plans for mass implementation or distribution. No plans at all, just theories.
The facts are, in the here and now, no fantasies, no futuristic conceptions, just reality, crude oil is the most important resource on the planet. And will be for reasons stated above for a long time to come.
Petroleum has become so infused in our lives that even after we have found viable alternatives to burning it to produce energy; it will still be of critical importance to our well being. Who controls oil resources will affect nearly every aspect of our lives for at least another 75 years, and probably for many generations to come.
The left dismisses this reality. They block development of domestic alternatives, increasing our dependence on countries that are truly criminal in their human rights violations. As other countries oil development technologies improve and they are able to drill farther and farther from a single well head foreign countries will soon be drilling oil very near to our own shores, while the left ties the countries hands, blocking development and exploration.
They also oppose the single clean energy alternative we have available to us right now, nuclear power. Clean Coal? Not clean enough, Hydropower? Wind power? Not in my backyard. Always dissent from the left against development of anything. No digging, No Drilling, No Cutting, No Building. Except fantasy energy. Anybody seen my anti gravity machine? Really it has been the policies of the left that forced situation in Iraq.
The war in Iraq? Awful, terrible expensive, in money and lives. I won’t bother with commenting on your subjective statistics, suffice I agree that the cost was tremendous in all aspects. If I felt like it was all happening for just me, as some apparently do, then no, it is not worth it. But to ensure our way of life and safety for years and generations to come, well, I guess time will tell, but I think if a person looks realistically and analytically and disregards ideology, at the importance of petroleum, I think our future generations of Americans will thank us.
As far as George Bush lying to the sheeples about why we have interests that need defended in the Mid East. Well, as you say, BOO HOO, a politician lied to you. Guess what? Politicians lie. Guess what? Joe Wilson was right, Obama lies too. Politicians lie. If you don’t look past it for the truths, and believe their lies you deserve to be lied to.
The truths here are that oil is of critical importance for the foreseeable future, and the left ignores that in favor of fantasy.

              • bad dog

@vegofish, Wow, thanks for being honest about the Iraq War being about oil, which the Left, which you humorously say ignores reality in favor of fantasy, knew all along. Hearing one more right winger say it was all about spending hundreds of billions of dollars to help brown people halfway around the world would just be too much to stomach.

You are correct that crude oil is the most important resource on the planet. Don’t have a heart attack, but liberals actually already know this. The thing is our oil supply was not threatened, as with the First Gulf War. Bush cynically exploited the 9/11 attacks as justification to invade a country with lots of oil simply because he wanted to privatize it, even though it drained resources from catching the guy who actually did attack us (but no economic benefit in that, so why should Republicans bother?) and cost the public treasury a fortune. THAT is what I had a problem with. Meanwhile, right wing ***holes everywhere were calling liberals traitors for pointing out the obvious: Iraq is the wrong war. Meanwhile, right wing ***holes everywhere are crapping their pants the President would have the audacity to actually think Americans deserve a public healthcare option, cuz that would cost money.

You think liberals live in a fantasy world? Go sell that to your fellow ditthoheads. They’ll obviously believe anything.

But we’re not done yet. You say future generations of Americans will thank Bush for having a secure oil supply? Are you kidding? You must not understand the fine points of capitalism and the free market. Oil goes to the highest bidder. It knows no boundaries, just as multinational corporations know no boundaries. So we spent hundreds of billions to secure oil supplies that will probably end up going to the Chinese. Nice, huh? Thanks God! Thanks God that Bush is no longer President! But since you like corporations more than you like people, I’m sure that makes you happy.

Green energy is the future, one way or the other, for the simple fact that it is a renewable source, and oil isn’t. Imagine what we could have accomplished if we had spent all the money on the Iraq War on R&D into renewable energy. The government harnessed the atom and put a man on the Moon. Surely, with that kind of funding, we could have realized incredible strides in technology.

But we’ll never know. Because the hero of some distant future hour, George Bush, and your good friends the Republicans, see, they blew all that money so we could stay anchored to Middle East politics, religious hatreds and mindless bloodshed for the next 50-100 years.

                G’day, mate!

                • Fandb

@bad dog, You still can’t or refuse to see the big picture. It is and was about Iran. If Iran is allowed to proceed unfettered, the oil supply is in serious danger.

The other cold hard reality is that there isn’t enough oil left to get us all to the next stage, whether it be batteries, fuel cells, ultra-capacitors, alternate burnable fuels, or whatever. With China’s consumption skyrocketing, and the cultural advancements in China, India, and the rest of the third world, there just isn’t enough oil available to support it all.

The U.S. is lucky enough to be in a position to take care of our own best interests. That is what we will have to do if we want to survive as a nation.

                  • bad dog

@Fandb, Once again, the big picture is not about America, it’s about oil companies, which have no loyalty to America. I live in Western Canada, which has tons of oil. You’d think we’d have plenty of supply and would not have had the kind of gas prices that plagued the U.S. this year. And you know what? Oil and gas prices skyrocketed here. The reason: Oil goes to the highest bidder on the open market and has no recognition of borders (dude, what you’re talking about is protectionism, and the next step is communism, oh no!!!!!). Most of Western Canada’s oil went to the U.S. and China.

So just to be clear, what you are saying is we MUST invade Iran, as they were always the country we really wanted to invade, not the other two we actually did invade, so that the oil resources can be sold cheap to private corporations who will sell the oil to the higher bidder, Communist China or India or whomever, and the U.S. taxpayer is supposed to pay for all this.

No wonder you right wingers don’t drugs to be legalized. Apparently, you don’t have to shoot up to hallucinate, it just comes natural.

                    • Fandb

@bad dog, I never expected that you would understand. You can wisecrack about hallucinating or whatever and I’m sure it’s all very cute, but that doesn’t change the cold hard reality of what the civilized world is facing.

I often hear liberals complain lately about how Obama has become George Bush II. That could be because when he actually moved into the big chair, and was exposed to the raw, un-spun reality of the situation that currently exists in the world and what we are facing, he realized that GWB was right. The U.S. has to take care of itself, no one is watching out for our interests.

                      • bad dog

@Fandb, Oh no, I understand you perfectly. You want the U.S. to blow even more money and lives so we can invade Iran, as they were always the country we really wanted to invade, not the other two we actually did. No thanks!

Your next point is laughable. Don’t worry, little guy, I’m sure President Obama realized even before becoming President that every country puts itself first, and that we should do the same. In case you haven’t noticed, he’s been acting on that belief. But you’d rather have another eight years of war that produces nothing instead of something we can actually use, like healthcare.

I’m really glad you’re here, and I hope as many people as possible read your point of view, just so they can see what they’ll be getting if they are stupid enough to vote Republican again.

                • Fandb

@bad dog, The other point that seems lost on you as well as many liberals is that “corporations” are made of people, they employ people, they provide the goods and services that people need and want, oil is useless without corporations being there to refine it, and build cars and trucks and airplanes that burn it, and make it into plastic, and make plastic into nearly everything… And employ many, many people along the way. It does no good to bash “corporations” every step of the way, no good will come of it.

You know I would really love to see fuel cell technology take off, we have talked about it before, I stand to gain tremendously when and if it happens. However, I am a realist. It isn’t going to happen any time soon. We will be lucky if it happens within the next 20 years. Until then, until a viable alternative is available, we are stuck with oil as our number one need.

As an aside, and I have mentioned this before too, there is a group who have developed a way to produce hydrocarbons from the air . It is energy intensive, but the energy needed is electrical and so can come from any number of electricity generating resources.

The technology is carbon neutral. CO2 is taken from the air, the O2 is removed catalytically, and the carbon is reacted with hydrogen derived from water. Both processes release oxygen, O2. When the hydrocarbon is burned, it goes back into the atmosphere as CO2. It is a brilliant strategy and could potentially bridge the gap until better alternatives mature.

                  • bad dog

@Fandb, Who is bashing corporations? I simply think they should be regulated. And I don’t believe they should be given incentive by the government to fire workers and move their operations to China, which is, you know, the kind of communism you free market types apparently like—no political freedom, no worker rights, and corporations can do whatever they want, and everybody else—human beings, future generations, the ecosystem—can suck it.

Renewable energy technology will take a long time to become price competitive with oil. So we could wait 20 miserable years, at the end of which we’d still be blowing money and lives in Iran, or we could take that money and make a massive investment in renewables and shorten that 20 years to 10, 5, whatever. Me, I think the latter is a safer investment.

You, you obviously prefer war. How’s that been working out for us?

                    • Fandb

@bad dog, Don’t even pretend to know what I think “Bad Dog”, or what I prefer, you don’t have a clue.

This isn’t about whether or not you can twist someone’s comments or make wisecracks about other people, that is something you obviously are good at, your problem is that it’s the only thing you’re good at.

This is about the long term survival of our culture, our nation, and our way of life. You preach about “future generations” but you don’t have a clue what will happen to those future generations if we fail. You don’t have a clue what will happen to future generations if Iran manages to build nuclear weapons and distribute them, and use them – which they will, against us and our allies.

You whine incessantly about how terrible the U.S. is, and how terrible the people are who built the U.S. into the superpower that it is today. You’d better start thinking about what “worker’s rights” will look like if the U.S. fails and the authoritarian regimes that we are fighting against take over. Personally, I want my children and their children to have it better than that.

Twenty years to develop alternative energy sources that would be capable of replacing oil is an accelerated timetable already. Adding money and people will do little to compress the timing. A six month test still takes six months, no matter how many engineers are standing there watching it. Adding funding won’t help much, if at all. What we have to do is protect the global oil supply until alternative energy sources are ready.

                      • bad dog

@Fandb, I can see you are committed to your subjective beliefs and believe anybody who contradicts them is a traitor to “our culture, our nation, our way of life.” You’re the type of guy who masturbates in front of a Risk game board. I get it.

But guess what? You’re the traitor. For your stupid ideology that nearly crippled a great country.

And as far as whining incessantly, ever listen to yourself speak? It’s the most arrogant, shrill sissy noise even just to read. I’m not the one hoping the U.S. fails just because a Democrat is in office and sees communism everywhere I look. That’s for traitors like you.

I suggest you either sleep this one off, or spending the next few hours trying to grow up.

                      • Fandb

@bad dog, Oh, now you’re going to call me a traitor?

But we both know that you are really the one who is a traitor, and we both know why. Right “Bad Dog”? Right?

Your comments are disgusting and vile, just like you. And you are too much of a traitorous coward to even discuss any issue of substance.

You’re a cowardly failure as a human being, so you try to make yourself feel better by hurling insults on a blog. You have no respect for yourself, and clearly no respect for others. You personify all that is wrong with the democrat Party of Hate.

Keep on writing what you write. Everyone needs to see the venomous hate that feeds lefties like you.

                      • bad dog

@Fandb, Yes, I did call you a traitor. Suck on that. Yummy, huh? How does it feel? Does it feel good? Did it make your day?

Welcome to the life of a liberal for the last eight years.

You don’t even have the stamina to take it once. Poor baby. Looks like I hit a nerve or three.

                        “… we both know why.”

I have no idea what you’re talking about.

“You’re a cowardly failure as a human being, so you try to make yourself feel better by hurling insults on a blog. • Fandb

@bad dog, Also, BTW, the “evil corporation” that is doing this work was in serious danger of folding this past summer due to lack of funding.

I guess really SOLVING the energy crisis is not part of Comrade Obama’s agenda.

                  • vegofish

@Fandb, FandB is right, you just don’t see the big picture dog, its not about right or wrong. Logistically and strategically, Iraq was the ONLY war. Afghanistan is not the place to fight, little infrastructure, waring, tribal, nomadic culture, what is to be gained?, Iran will need to be dealt with at some point and it appears it will probably be sooner than later, a task that would be much more difficult without a strong foothold right next door. As far as their culpability in terror around the world and specifically the US, liberals would have us believe that we invaded someone akin to Switzerland, when we all know what a ruthless despot he was. In my opinion It was a well chosen battlefield at a time when the country need to be affirmative in defending our interests and safety. Is anybody left really naive enough to believe we have only been fighting Iraqi’s in Iraq? The battle in Iraq has drawn in much of the resources from terror networks around the region. This would be funding and personnel and weaponry that would have been used elsewhere. Don’t forget “the enemy of my enemy is my friend”. I can understand and agree with the sentiments of the cost of the war, terrible. But I disagree completely about it being the “wrong war”

                    • bad dog

@vegofish, I’m perfectly happy having a realpolitik conversation. I just think you’re wrong. So you see, it really is about right and wrong after all.

See above for a response to the rest of your neocon rant.

                  • bad dog

@Fandb, I have no idea what you’re talking about. These are the usual lame stereotypes weak right wingers resort to so they can make themselves feel better the moment they start to lose an argument, which is why you hear them almost instantly. For the fiftieth time: Corporations are not evil by definition, they are amoral, which is why they must be regulated. Unless you are saying your corporation is evil, in which case I hope it fails. Or perhaps your technology just sucks. Every technology does not and should not receive automatic government funding, so your technology must suck if the free market, which is infallible, will not support it. It’s funny that you hold Obama accountable for how your corporation is doing. Do you think you’re “too big to fail”? Or maybe you think you’re uniquely qualified for the government tit, like your friends the military contractors and stooges like Phil Gramm, that Republican free market advocate who never worked in the private sector a day in his life.

                    • Fandb

@bad dog, Did you even look at the link? No, this is not “my corporation” “Bad Dog”. It is a corporation in Califormia, I believe, that I am not even going to invest in because it doesn’t look like it will survive long enough to become profitable.

That’s too bad though, because it does look like it could be the solution all you liberals are whining about. And you are stupid enough to dismiss it without even understanding what it could represent. You whiny little liberal losers all want the government to do something to fix your problems, but even when an opportunity presents itself you’re too stupid to see it.

                      • bad dog

@Fandb, You know how to save the world, and Obama won’t listen to you. I get it. Your girlish cries must go unanswered this time. You’re going to have to just pound your tiny, ineffectual fists against the floor by yourself.

                      • Fandb

@bad dog, As I have told you before, and has been demonstrated a number of times since you started tagging along, I am usually ahead of the curve. This is one of the most remarkable technologies I have ever come across.

I can see why all you dumb a$$ liberals don’t want to talk about it, if it works, you won’t have as many things to whine about. It might even provide incentive to many Americans to delay the blind acceptance of Comrade Obama and his brand of Socialism.

                      • bad dog

@Fandb, Yeah, thanks for that reminder, I keep forgetting your a secret supergenius who knows everything. You’re the Wile E. Coyote of wingnuts.

As for the technology, I hope you’re right about it. I’m just wondering what could have been accomplished with that very technology, as of today, if President Gore, not President Bush, had put huge funding behind it and technologies like it starting September 12, 2001, so we could finally begin to put an end to our addiction to Middle Eastern religious hatreds and bloodshed.

Instead we got a war that solved no problems, produced no benefit, but instead was a horrifying disaster—and, in the end, just another form of corporate welfare.

blaaa blaaa blaaa blaaa your just not worth the time anymore dog
      boring same old

      • bad dog

@vegofish, I was just going to say those exact words!

        Common ground achieved!

        :D HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!

        • The GTL™

@bad dog, And all this time I was skeptical whether or not you two would ever become friends! It’s a miracle! You DID become “bestest buddies” after all! ;-)

          • vegofish

@The GTL™, Not exactly my assessment.
I do have to say that I am somewhat surprised at the double standard that you have allowed to occur here with dogs nastiness.
I guess if you agree with someones politics (however ridiculously skewed) it is okay if they are consistently rude and nasty to other poster’s. It is fine, the language doesn’t bother me. Just surprised. I thought you were above that kind of childishness. I mean hell, you have chosen to edit my commentary in the past, although to be fair I think it was giardia you did most of the editing on. Dog is the nastiest, most insulting, poster that I have seen on here, yet not a word of the kind I have recieved in the past. Why the double standard now dude?

            • The GTL™

@vegofish, Fair enough question bro. The fact is, I haven’t edited anybody lately and it’s simply because I don’t have enough time to read every single comment anymore, much less edit out the bad stuff. We used to get a lot less comments per day here and it would take me just a few minutes to read them all completely and attempt to keep the peace.

Hopefully, and this I’m learning — you and the rest of our co-bloggers will help self-police and help to keep the peace? Again, there are simply not enough hours in a day anymore for me to keep up with all of the shouting down and personal insults, which are coming from all sides of the political spectrum these days.

Hope you can understand where I’m coming from :-)

              • vegofish

@The GTL™, NO problem man, just curious. You know I dig the site, and your unique perspectives.
I think most of us police ourselves with a slip now and then.
Others though, I think it unlikely. Some folks lack the confidence of others and need to build themselves up by bringing others down. Is it coincidence that is also an analogy for progressive politics, Rather than treat everyone equally they must smash some down so as to bring others up?

                • bad dog

@vegofish, Yeah, GTL, how come you don’t censor liberals and let right wing nutjobs spew whatever insult-laded, lying garbage they like without being challenged? HUH? Oh, how long this once great site has fallen—a metaphor for our ONCE GREAT NATION… Boo hoo, boo hoo, wah wah wah.

                  • vegofish

@bad dog, I thought you were all about equality dog? I did not ask for censorship, I was censored. For arguably much less personal nastiness than you display. Again, I don’t have any problem with you being as much of an ass you choose to be. Go for it. I was only curious why the censorship policy (Which is absolutely the GTL’s right)was not being equally administered.

                    • bad dog

@vegofish, Well, as I’m all for equality, since you resorted to namecalling and called me an “ass,” I get to point out the obvious, which is you’re a weak right wing dickhead.
