Who Says There Is No Longer “Bipartisanship” In Washington? Senate Gives Relieving PROOF There Is A “Right Vs. Left” And An Even Stronger “Right Vs. WRONG” With Nearly Unanimous Vote…
First off, let’s take note of the seven traitorous SCUMBAGS who voted in opposition to federal funding of a group called “ACORN” who was caught on tape in recent days attempting to coerce Citizens into blatantly stealing our tax dollars by “gaming” the “system”…
YOUR Senate Hall of Shame, folks:
•Dick Durbin (D-IL)
•Roland Burris (D-IL)
•Robert Casey (D-PA)
•Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY)
•Patrick Leahy (D-VT)
•Bernie Sanders (I-VT)
•Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI)
For your convenience, just click right HERE to send these SUB-HUMANS your “personal love note” for their unamerican actions. It’ll only take a minute and believe me, there is no recourse to fear — 87 out of 100 of your Senators are in full agreement with you.
Bertha Lewis, the CEO of ACORN isn’t very pleased with the hugely bi-partisan effort to stifle an effort arguably worthy of the otherwise USELESS and unconstitutional RICO Act (Hot Air — H/T goes out to MemeOrandum for The Pull):
“We’re disappointed that the Senate took the rare and politically convenient step of supporting eliminating some federal funding for a single organization, one that has been the target of an historical political assault stemming variously from the Bush White House, Fox News, and other conservative quarters…”
(Snip!)
“Fortunately, ACORN derives most of its income from its members and other supporters, so the decision will have little impact on overall operations. Tonight’s vote will burden the families who benefited from ACORN’s important work to improve housing conditions in the United States.”
Message to “Big Bertha” Louis: It’s time for a SERIOUS “gut-check” when the VAST majority of your previous supporters are pretty much in agreement you are a two-bit CROOK and your organization is exactly what one would expect from one being run from a two-bit CROOK.
PSST: Wakeup Call, Bertha… WAKEUP call, hun. Welcome back to the private sector and PUH-LEEZ tuck those other seven TRAITORS under those thunder arms and take them along with you as you exit stage left, Ma’am.

I think that this was enlightened self interest on the part of the Dems. With all the stuff coming to light about the crap ACORN pulls, it would be the stake through the heart of their political life to keep shoving tax dollars to ACORN. But, I’m sure they will come up with a work around. ACORN is too important to the DNC to really carry through with it. And, one of ACORNS big guns is sitting behind a desk in the Oval Office now.

GTL half the time I never know if your serious or are kidding but I hope you had the same anger I did over the fact that Americans were sending ACORN tax dollars to enforce a progressive agenda. To support and attempt to get elected progressive candidates all across America.
I hope you were outraged over that because I know I was. I know this vote is a sham because its an attempt by the Democrats to distance themselves from this movement. Its akin to the right disavowing the Religious right. Might do it publicly but they still have huge sway and influence.
Acorn needs to be investigated and the money trail followed to the logical conclusion. All the way to the White House.

It will be interesting to see how this plays out, expecially with the former Junior Senator from Illinois (sorry Joe, I owe you a quarter) sitting in the Oval Office.
Funny thing is, I heard an interview with Charlie Gibson on the radio this morning on my way to work, and Charlie claimed he had not even heard about the latest ACORN criminal activity. This is supposed to be “professional” journalism at its finest?
The people who conducted the sting operation went to three separate ACORN locations and received nearly the same advice from each one. It’s almost as if they had policies in place for such questions. If you need to know how to open a brothel with 13 year old illegal aliens and avoid paying taxes on your earnings, just contact ACORN.

GTL, I can’t believe you’re playing along with this charade. With friends like you … Well, I won’t finish that thought.
You’re getting this story wrong, playing along with Republican memes just as you did when you repeated talking points about Michael Moore.
ACORN does not apply for or receive federal grants.
It sometimes does work for other nonprofits that do receive housing grants, but that previously was up to the nonprofits, not the government.
This work included identifying people eligible to get food stamps, helping people facing foreclosure get counseling and services, and provide lead paint remediation.
Of course, Republicans hate these types of services. They’d rather see poor kids grow up retarded than receive a dime of their tax money because they are vicious, screw-you pretend-Christians. They’d rather see a family go hungry rather than get help applying for food stamps because food stamps is socialism to them. They’d rather see people lose their homes than get help keeping them.
ACORN does not receive any federal money for its voter registration services.
ACORN has never received, nor was it ever going to receive, any part of the bailout. The right wingers wanted you to believe that they would get 20% of the bailout–or an amount of money equal to the operating budget of the State of California. Um, no. That’s stupid on its face, but that’s never stopped the most gullible idiots in the world from repeating a lie before…
GTL, please do your homework on this one. You’re wrong, and you’re helping the moonbats turn a good organization (that they consider a political opponent, so screw the people they were helping, because party before country, right?) into a boogie man. You’re also helping hurt an organization that is actually doing a lot of good for poor people.
The only unAmerican thing I see being done here is the Senate actually voting to punish an organization. This ranks right up there in spinelessness with the Democrats voting to censor MoveOn for an ad.
This is why we won’t win, GTL. We turn on our own.
I’m going to give ACORN $100 right now. Will you join me?

Is this one of your “I pulled this out of my ass or the ass of my favorite right wing blogger” moments?
I like your definition better. That way, I get to call the Republican Party a criminal organization. They’re a million times more tainted. Hell, I mean McCain even broke his own campaign finance law:
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1008/14928.html
Maybe we shouldn’t let any Republicans run for public office?
And using your logic, let’s cut all military contractors who are convicted–meaning they really are “criminal” organizations–from receiving military contracts.
Nope, that won’t happen. You see, they have WEIGHT with the fat cats. Hell, FandB, all ACORN does is help poor people. Screw them!
http://www.d-n-i.net/war_profiteering/13criminal.htm

@bad dog,
U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, has become an original co-sponsor of legislation that would terminate all federal funding to the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, known as ACORN.
The reason GTL is “playing along” Is that GTL values truth over spin. Integrity of facts over what ever it is your trying to peddle BD.
House Minority Leader John Boehner (R.-Ohio) released information showing ACORN has received at least $31 million in federal funding since 1998 hours after the FBI announced they were launching a nationwide investigation against the non-profit.
The reason GTL is “playing along” Is that GTL values truth over spin. Integrity of facts over what ever it is your trying to peddle BD.
At least $53 million in federal funds have gone to ACORN activists since 1994, and the controversial group could get up to $8.5 billion more tax dollars despite being under investigation for voter registration fraud in a dozen states.
Acorn is not a bipartisan organization. Its agenda is to get progressives elected. That means its partisan and we cannot have tax payers dollars supporting them.
Peddle your drivel elsewhere BD. or at least study a topic before you make allegations even impugning the integrity of the very guy that keeps you around here for the rest of us to have comic relief.

ACORN may have helped poor people at one time, but now they help pimps and prostitutes set up brothels for the exploitation of 13 year old illegal aliens. Or at least they would if given the opportunity, and the evidence is on videotape.
BTW the sting has expanded from 3 ACORN offices to 5 ACORN offices the last I heard. All willing to provide criminal advice to would-be criminals.
Accept it. ACORN is not what you think it is.
I’m fully in favor of helping poor people as much as I can, but I am not in favor of supporting criminal activity with government grants.

@Fandb, No, the evidence is not on videotape. Go to the ACORN website. It’s total BS.
“I’m fully in favor of helping poor people as much as I can …”
I see no evidence of this.
“… but I am not in favor of supporting criminal activity with government grants.”
I do see evidence of this. You apparently don’t mind the Republican Party, a real criminal organization, field candidates for ofice. You apparently don’t mind military contractors intentionally ripping off your tax money and continuing to receive contracts.
Finally, there is no evidence that the organization has done anything criminal, nor has it been convicted (outside the august courtroom of Glenn Beck’s tiny mind), so it is not a criminal organization.
This means you want the government to single out and punish a liberal organization you would like to see as criminal, but you’re okay with military contractors, who have actually been found guilty of crimes, continue to milk billions of our tax dollars.
And that, FandB, is a double standard. Specifically, yours.

By the way, did you hear that the GOP has been declared a “criminal organization”?
Yeah, they had this guy named Ted Bundy working for them at one time, it seems.
Since an entire organization can be termed criminal because of the actions of one person, even if they’re joking, then the GOP is now a criminal organization. Since we can’t give criminal organizations receiving public funding, the GOP can now never receive public financing. The Senate voted on this today, agreeing with me. All of the Republicans voted to condemn the Republican Party, because they have consistent logic.
And Ted Bundy, I don’t think, was joking.
Oh yeah, because Timothy McVeigh was Catholic, the Senate just voted to take away the tax-exempt status of all churches.
Does that make you sad?

You can try to point the finger at a thousand acts by other people, you can whine and cry and stamp your little paws all you want, it won’t change the facts, and it doesn’t make ACORN’s criminal activities acceptable.
“Bad Dog” is more worried about protecting his tiny little, easily shattered ego than he is about the intent of ACORN employees to assist in putting 13 year old girls into forced prostitution, slave labor.
That is just another of many reasons why the democrats are the Party of Hate.
And you, “Bad Dog”, a self-avowed democrat are one of the most Hate-Filled people I have ever come across.
