Nancy Pelosi Claws Unamerican ObamaCare Health Care Protesters Town Hall House Speaker Nancy Pelosi Opens Mouth, Inserts Foot In USAToday Co Column With Steny HoyerShouting Dissent At Townhall Meetings Is “Unamerican” — Nancy Pelosi Lugosi…

Okay, I’m just SURE House Speaker Nancy Lugosi (Google Images) didn’t mean to write HER “unamerican” comment in her USAToday Co-Op-Ed with Steny Hoyer today. If she did, tar and feathers might be in order, so I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt on this one…

Judge for yourself:

Let the facts be heard

These disruptions are occurring because opponents are afraid not just of differing views — but of the facts themselves. Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.

Health care is complex. It touches every American life. It drives our economy. People must be allowed to learn the facts. …”

I’m sure what the House Speaker REALLY meant to point out it’s “unamerican” to shout, yell and carry on like a child to drown out factual information on President Barack Hussein Obama’s ObamaCare health care plan, to which I would agree since it’s well known to anybody with at least a half a brain there is much misinformation being disseminated by the G.O.P. regarding what they have termed as “ObamaCare” (the non-partisan FactCheck dot Org). Assuming (again, at least HOPING) I’m correct about what the Speaker of The House was attempting to state in her column, I couldn’t agree more with her. Screaming baldfaced LIES at the top of one’s lungs while a Congressperson or Senator is giving his or her opinion and/or speaking FACTUALLY to a respectul audience should be not only termed “unamerican” but should qualify for a misdemeanor disturbing the peace arrest by the authorities, much in the same vein as the one Harvard Professor Henry Gates received (rightfully or wrongfully?) in “GatesGate”.

Look, everybody who’s followed this website for any length of time knows I’m a strong defender of ALL Constitutional amendments, including, of course, our 1st Amendment protection of our Freedom Of Speech, but I do have problems with this particular comment by House Speaker Lugosi as well as with the screaming LIARS; the latter who have no other intention but to misrepresent the FACTS, disturb the peace and infringe on the RIGHTS of their fellow Americans who’ve gathered to hear those facts. At that point, we have one so-called “American” infringing on the rights of a fellow “American” to speak freely and truthfully and that’s where I draw the line. Who gives a rip if we’re talking about a Congressional “movie star” or “Joe The Plunger”? Same-o-same-o in my not so humble opinion. The act IS “unamerican”.

As for the former — Speaker Pelosi — she DEFINITELY needs to apologize to We, The People, and re-state her opinion to where it supports the Constitution and our Civil Liberties. If not and if she meant what she said and said what she meant VERBATIM, it is SHE who is “unamerican” and the time will have come for her to step down and go back to the private sector again.

Well well GTL…on the heels of Barbara “punch drunk” boxer claiming “well attired types” are hurting Obamas agenda, now we have Nancy “Botox Queen” Pelosi spouting ignorance as well…ah those Democrats, the cream always rises to the top…

It looks like Queen Nancy, as well as Babs, DiFi, Lynn, et al. can’t stomach the same tactics that their minions have been using for 40 years – mob, shout down, intimidate, disrupt. And it sounds like the people who are questioning the former ACORN workers plans learned real well from the left – “Screaming baldfaced LIES at the top of one’s lungs while a Congressperson or Senator is giving his or her opinion and/or speaking FACTUALLY to a respectul audience.”
And the left always managed to turn it into a civil rights case if someone thought it “should be not only termed “unamerican” but should qualify for a misdemeanor disturbing the peace arrest by the authorities,” with the ACLU rushing to defend them and painitng the politician and authorities who were trying to maintain order NAZIs and Fascists. I think the “as you sow, so shall you reap” has a lot of application here. The left had 40 years of turning loud, vulgar, disruptive thugs lose on meetings of moderates and conservatives. Now their arrogance has brought them the fruits of their labors.

I saw it all first hand here in CA (hell, in my younger days I was a minor part of some of the lefts disruptions), and experienced some of it directly myself when I tried to ask an unscripted question of her. (or any of the others) I was unable to complete asking the question once it became clear to her sycophants that I was questioning her stance on an issue. I was literally surrounded and shouted down. And surrounded by them in such a way, and in such close quarters, that if I tried to move, I would have had to push them out of the way, thereby being in the wrong for using force, and commiting battery.

I suppose I could have put on my 200 yard voice, but that would have dropped me to their level.

I also saw it when the o, so tolerant, diverse, and inclusive leftists stormed and disrupted NRA meetings. And showed up in moderate force (about 10 people) to disrupt and shout down small rallys (maybe about 40 or 50)for conservative candidates in the area.

Hell, they even tried to disrupt a fund raising shoot for someone. Fortunately, there were a good number of off duty cops there who showed their tinware and politely suggested that it would be a reeeeeallly good thing if they started being kind of polite to everyone. And that waving signs in the face of someone with a loaded gun might not win them any awards for smarts. (yeah, yelling at and waving protest signs in front of people at the bench and trying to shoot – everyone took their hands off the guns, but still…)

So now it’s “what Nancy really meant to say,” eh?

Calling them liars isn’t going to help the situation…especially when the FactCheck article only really points out that the conservatives are using an emotional appeal to get their challenge out. Although they do bring in someone from Sloan-Kettering, even that expert admits that he doesn’t actually know what the full prognosis was (it apparently included a prognosis of Cushings, which might have, had factcheck gone back to S-K for further discussion, changed the guy’s prognosis from non-fatal to probably fatal)…nor if the thing in her body was a tumor or not (his reference to “a remnant of embryological structures” sounds a bit like a split hair to me).

Given that this board has its own issues with various aspects of the health care plan…and isn’t aware of what was actually being said at the meeting (for all you know, it could’ve been reiterations of what GTL has discussed here vis a vis the “criminalization factor”), I’d say that calling people liars and unAmerican for being passionate in their opinions and opposition isn’t cricket.

I had to come back and comment on this by Guns: “If not and if she meant what she said and said what she meant VERBATIM, it is SHE who is “unamerican” and the time will have come for her to step down and go back to the private sector again.”

There is the problem – she hasn’t ever been in the private sector. Her dad was in the House, and mayor of Baltimore. She interned for a member of the House. She married into a San Francisco political family. She hooked up with the SF Burton Democratic machine, and got the blessing to run for office in the late 80s. She has no clue about what the average honest citizen thinks or feels. Her whole life has been immersed in cronyism and influence peddeling.

@Joe — I was thinking more like she could go be hubby’s secretary and cook the books for his biz ;-)

You Said: “I’m sure what the House Speaker REALLY meant to point out it’s “unamerican” to shout, yell and carry on like a child to drown out factual information …”

Speak Pilosi said: “Drowning out opposing views is simply un-American. Drowning out the facts is how we failed at this task for decades.”

Hmmm. I think you are grasping at straws. She said, almost exactly what you said you are sure she meant to say. This is a fabricated story. She never said anything even remotely similar to what she is being accused of.

Ping pong anyone? I saw this, my jaw dropped. I can’t do that well with the proper paddle, much less a stick on a chain.

I have to agree with Scott. I just don’t get the outrage.
