Army Reserve Major Stefan Frederick Cook Successfully Weasels His Way Out Of Afghanistan Combat Orders By Challenging President Barack Hussein Obama’s Eligibility As His Commander-In-Chief

scott easterling army officer refuses to obey hawaiian president obama orders until he sees his birth certificate1 Army Reserve Major Stefan Frederick Cook Successfully Weasels His Way Out Of Afghanistan Combat Orders By Challenging President Barack Hussein Obamas Eligibility As His Commander In ChiefMeanwhile, WorldNetDaily (“WND“) Continues To Profit From “Birther” Stance Against The President

Great job, Major Stefan Frederick Cook, for your successful weaseling out of those “scary” orders of yours to head off to Afghanistan to support your Commander-In-Chief’s mission against the Taliban who protected Osama Bin Ladin after he helped mastermind the deaths of thousands of your countrymen and women in the Twin Towers attacks via your lawfully-issued orders.

“Brave guy”? “Hero”? Your twisted buddies at WorldNetDaily would agree with you since they’re making a BUNDLE of U.S. dollars supporting your “birther” cause. Guess what, though, Sir? As a Non-Commissioned Officer in the United States Air Force, with all due respect, THIS Airman believes you just MIGHT come across to your fellow troops who’ve “been there, done that, got the T-Shirt” as a bit of a COWARD. Sorry to be blunt, Sir (salute).

That’s right, folks — the supposed “issue” challenging President Barack Hussein Obama’s eligibility as a “natural born Citizen” has been put to rest again and again — to the point the “birthers” have become the laughable “Michael Moores” of the Right. Michael Moore STILL contends President Bush was actually SMART enough to mastermind the destruction of the World Trade Center towers while Major Cook and a small handful of others CLAIM to be suspicious of President Obama’s Hawaiian birth certificate. While I am convinced some of these “birthers” are serious, I’m not so convinced Major Stefan Frederick Cook is anything more than a common coward who is frightened about going to a war zone one way and coming back a bit “altered” like so many of us have before him. Boo-HISS, Major. Grow a “pair” and head off into the Wild Blue Yonder and take your lumps like some of the rest of us who’ve been called upon to do so have. I might have pulled the same excuse over MY orders based upon my hesitance of believing the election 2004 results for President “Surge” Dubya Bush were completely valid. But I had the character and INTEGRITY to suck it up. Now YOU suck it up, SIR.

I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again. It’s NORMAL to be afraid of heading off into a hostile fire zone, Sir. If you’re not, you missed some critical parts of your preparatory military hostile fire zone training. Anything short of that is stupidity to say the least. On the other hand, you signed on the dotted line and the time has come for you to MAN UP — especially when you’re holding the rank of Major. How in the hell did YOU slip through the cracks, Sir?

Just as shameful as Major Cook are his attorney, Doctor Orly Taitz and WND’s Joseph Farah, whom all stand to profit from the apparent, treasonous acts of Major Cook, if not financially, at the very least — in the form of free publicity.

Shame on YOU, Major Cook and all of the above. Head off to war and Godspeed, Sir. Quit setting the example, which could easily be understood by your suboordinates to be a pitiful act of cowardice, versus following the example of those who wish to exploit you. Exhibit leadership, in other words, SIR. You bring shame to your branch of service, your unit, and the military as a whole with your actions. In my not-so-humble-opinion, that is.

Ahhh, the sweet aroma of irony in the morning. Smells like ..umm..bacon. I could hardly believe it when I read this piece. As I recall, some years back when a different Army officer refused to go to Iraq, GTL lauded the man for a brave and conscientious stand. Does left wing dissent void charges of cowardice?

    • Joe Lovell

And, once again, to put all of this to rest and end the speculation, all the former community organizer from Chicago has to do is produce one (1) little piece of paper. That will end it all. Where is the transparancy he promised? Where is the openess and honesty? Hidden behind a stone wall, from the looks of things.

    • JustWondering

Actually, I don’t think Major Cook’s problem is cowardice. I think it’s a lot worse.

He *volunteered* to go to Afghanistan — after posting on some blogs that he wanted to join Orly Taitz’s law suit. The whole thing was a scam, a set-up job to give himself an excuse to sue Obama.

Of course the Army didn’t know that, and prepared to deploy him. Now either his unit will be short one major, or some poor other major is going to have to drop everything and run to Afghanistan to fill his slot.

This is abominable behavior, screwing his fellow soldiers to help Orly Taitz pursue her insane vendetta. Cowardice is a weakness. This is moral turpitude.

    • bad dog

@Joe: Yes, Obama is a former community organizer. Grow up.

He produced that little piece of paper you pretend you want, but you don’t care. You just want to whine like a girl about made-up crap.

@the gun-toting liberal: I have a problem with you, too. You say Michael Moore is crazy left, and thinks Bush engineered the destruction of the World Trade Center. Moore is not crazy left. He is a liberal. So what. He never said Bush destroyed the Towers. What he said was Bush sat on his ass staring off into space for more than 7 minutes while the First Tower was burning, and after Card whispered in his ear that the Second Tower had been hit. That’s a fact. Don’t see why you have a problem with Moore thinking Bush sucks because of this. Bush was tested, and failed, miserably, in a test of leadership, then we had to eat 24/7 propaganda about what a big hero he was, including a stupid movie called DC 911. But of course right wingers don’t care about this. They want to see Obama’s birth certificate, even though it’s publicly available for view. I guess we have to drive it to their house and staple it to their ass. And unfortunately meanwhile we’ve got another self-hating liberal giving up Michael Moore, buying into the propaganda of the right.

I’ve heard this birth issue noise for some time, as we all have, and at first I dismissed it as right-wing whinning.
But if anyone with a brain starts looking into it, things just don’t add up……. am I on the side of right-wing zealots now? Damn, these are strange times.
If the US Army had no doubt of the issue this Major would be called Private right now in a rock yard at some unheard-of stockade in Europe, period. To just dismiss his orders adds another entry in the “it-just-doesn’t-add-up” column.
I’m starting to wonder if there is some validity to the claim that our President is not “legal” and all the turmoil that this would create. I wish Pres. Obama would end this mess today by simply showing us all a regular, valid, birth certificate.

    • Chuck

Right wing, left wing, crazy is just…crazy. While no fan of the President, I cringe everytime this birth certificate nonsense is brought up. This silliness sounds EXACTLY like the 911 “truthers”. While all of us may enjoy a short ride on the conspiracy express for entertainment, it’s just strange when some folks never get off at the station.

“Never give an inch, especially when the truth is on your side.”

That’s a reasonable sentiment, as long as truth begins with a lower case “T”. The problem is that zealots of all stripes use that phrase , when it should read: “The Truth”.

    • Doomed

I have to say that this man is in deep doo…doo. It is not for the military to determine if the commander in chief is legitimately there or not.

In the meantime the Cap and trade bill is moving silently thru congress and might be coming to a city near you soon.

Write your congressman and tell them to just say no or you will say NO at the ballot box in 2010. Cap and trade is nothing more then a humongous tax….estimated at 20-25 percent ON EVERY man woman and child in America.

Can you pay another 20 percent of your salary to the government? Thats what this Administration is going to do to Americans in the next year if we dont stand up to them now.

Facts released a couple days ago was the US debt passed a staggering 1 trillion dollars this year and were only 9 months in to the Year. Just say no……is MY PARTY OF CHOICE. Someones got to.

    • Mike Hatcher

Doomed – a minor point, but while terms like debt and deficit are essentially the same in meaning, the norm that seems to have been established is the use of debt when referring to the entire accumulation of debt the U.S. has over the years. The deficit is used when referring to a single budget year. The national debt (as of 10:16 am. C.S.T. :) ) exeeds 11.5 trillion. This fiscal year’s budget has gone over, as you stated correctly: 1 trillion, thus we can say the budget deficit is over 1 trillion for the first time ever. And just typing those words mearly to define them makes me angry enough to work out on a punching bag. I guess the silver lining is that I can use the exercise.

    • nel

This guy had no intention of going to Afghanistan and wasn’t in any danger of being deployed until he volunteered. As I understand it he could have withdrawn his application right up to the date of deployment and would not have had to go.

The whole affair is just set up to get yet another day in court for the birthers.

    • BrokenArrow

Try him for treason along with bush and dick. If you don’t remember why: GOOGLE Bush Jokes about WMD’s….it’s all over YouTube. When you lie and INVADE a country, and millions are wounded, displaced, and thousands killed for an agenda as opposed to truly having to defend our country, YOU ARE GUILTY OF TREASON. GAME, SET, MATCH.

This pussy is part of the infestation and infection that is the GOP. He’s being paid to help dismantle our great country. I SUPPORT OUR PRESIDENT. TRY DICK AND BUSH IN THE HAGUE, NOW.

    • Ron H

I am not so sure that this will be the end of it.
I am sure the Army will pursue this incident. They can’t just let it go, too many others could then pursue the same course.
I am sure he will be court martialed in the near future

    • greyhawk

To those who still are yelling about Obama’s birth certificate, please produce your own original birth certificate before you start yelling. Mine is in a vault about a mile from where I sit and the state will NOT allow me to get the original.

    • angeranddespair

Over 4300 US soldiers murdered for the illegitimate lying presidency of George W Bush plus countless maimings and disfigurements and amputees Wow and all they had to say is GWB is not really the president and I don’t have to go murder innocent Iraqis yippee!

      Hey Joe Lovell

Here is his birth certificate…go look at at it!

    • Mike Hatcher

Yes Angryand Despair, I’m glad you clarified illegitimate lying from legitimate lying. Regardless of what Bush knew or how he tried to sell it, let us say for sake of arguement he was knowingly lying, the war was legitimate as Iraq did violate U.N. resolutions time and time again. We got rid of a dictator that sponsored genocide, torture, and rape of his own citizens. That’s the illegitimate lying, now the legitimate lying is what Charles Rangle does on his taxes, what Hillary Clinton said to try to sell national health care, and what Obama does to rip gobs of money from America to funnel it all to his supporters so we will be to broke to afford anything but the flimsiest of cars that will cause over time far more deaths than we lost liberating Iraq. Thank you for that clarification.

    • BrokenArrow

DOOMED: The days of making blanket statements are over. Produce any and all links to provide adequate proof of a 20% tax hike.

The national debt under boosh, plus the millions given away in Iraq, the Fed.Reserve raped, and the eight years of a reign of destruction on our beloved country, it’s all on video to view, ARE WHAT almost destroyed us. NEVER FORGET. TRY dick and bush for treason, etc., etc., etc.,

My brother missed 9/11 by seven months. We buried him in Februaby ’01, right after our mother. His head was filled with tumors…….Gilboblastoma. He spent his stay in Nam bulldozing the agent-orange jungles. MAJOR COOK will be tried for treason, mark my words. GOP…party of HATE FOR COUNTRY AND ALL HUMAAN LIFE that love freedom from their twisted, destructive views. Why is the GOP trying to destroy our country????????????

    • Batocchio

Have you read the follow-ups on this? Greyhawk’s post seems to check out, and it and his links put this in a very different light. Cook remains a tool, but it’s a stunt, not a legal victory. He didn’t have to deploy in the first place. World Net Daily is completely misrepresenting the story for their far right agenda – shocking, I know.

    • Chuck2

      And the GOOD NEWS ??
It turns out he can ( and did ) request not to go, and so they gave him his request and banned him from all government property.
      The Really good news…
he’s a contractor who works at the Pentagon… or at least USED TO till he got BANNED from the Property of Uncle Sam.

I hope is billfold is larger than his brain. What a Numm-Nts.

      GTL

Wow, did you call in your graduating class from Karl Marx U. class of ’84 to help out? Or is this some kind of orchestrated “Americans to defend Commie Bloggers” effort? Dude, I’ve never seen so many Lefty’s, and so ANGRY. Is it the “birther” thing? I dunno, but if it is, the irony just got gooey caramel thick. As I recall, it was the Lefty “Truthers” that invaded some years back, and they too were an angry lot. What is it with y’all Lefty’s and anger? Does anyone except me read your comment policy? :-)

    • JT

This is the first I’d heard of this.
Having grown up on Keesler, I grew up around mostly military (AF) personnel and I don’t think any of the ones I ever knew would’ve tried something like this. Even when they were scared to be sent somewhere, they were scared to be sent…but hell or high water wasn’t going to keep them from going. This is what is known as courage and a sense of duty. After showing it to my dad, a Republican for 50 years, and retired CMSgt USAF, he’s horrified. He’s now an independant. This was the last straw. Rock on Republicans, you’re doing great!

Also, I’ve noticed the oddest thing. Republicans(and other stripes of neo-con) scream “Support our Troops!” so often you’d think it was a mating call…Yet the people that seem to genuinely care about them generally tend to fall center or left of center. I wonder if that’s because we view them as real people instead of a means to an end. I would think the majority would probably like to be called heroes less and be more certain that, should an IED take their leg off, they aren’t going to get a bill for their damaged gear or their plane ride home, which happened several times under El Busho. Well, and if they get damaged in a war WE bloody sent them to, we’ll do the very best we can to fix it in any way possible, including(especially) providing for their families. This would be that “empathy” thing you lot hold in such contempt. You certainly don’t care about morale, because this is going to badly damage it in the men this man commands.

    • Joe Lovell

Um…no, that isn’t his birth certificate. That is a replacement that HI issues. Damn near anyone can get one like it.

Look, at first I put this in the same realm as the “Panama John” crap, and looked to see it cleared up almost as soon as it started. But the former community organizer from Chicago has fought it tooth and nail. The more he fights it, the more I think he is hiding something. WHY doesn’t he release the orgiginal document? I would LOVE to have him produce it and have it be exaclty what the left claims. I would gladly be the butt of their jokes and ribbing. Really. I “WANT” to be proven wrong. I “WANT” all the right of center pundits to be proven wrong. But the only way to do that is to have the original realeased. It could even be to a bi-partisan group from both houses of Congress behind closed doors, and then they come out and say aye or nay. But, as the saying goes, the public has a right to know.

Greyhawk, my original is in my gun safe. Feel free to visit me for a look at it.

    • Fandb

This is hysterical. This topic really brings the lefty moonbats out of the closet. And there they go again, trying to attack President Bush and his administration using extremely stale DNC talking points. There were no war crimes, President Bush WON both elections, the Bush Administration did NOT destroy the World Trade Center towers, etc., etc. GET OVER IT MOONBATS. MOVE ON. (pun intended)

Greyhawk: I don’t know where you live, but I have an original birth certificate with the embossed seal and signed by the doctor’s own hand. I thought everyone had a birth certificate “original” – in Illinois (where I live and where Obama lived) you can’t get a driver’s license with a copy, the Sec. of State requires an original.

The birth certificate posted on-line is not the original, and was the one usually issued when births occurred overseas to parents who were residents/citizens of Hawaii. Rather than proving he was born in Hawaii, it actually makes it look more like he wasn’t born in Hawaii for that reason.

The problem is, the country reached the tipping point somewhere between 2004 and 2008 where the uneducated, highly impressionable and irresponsible lefties suddently outnumbered the educated, thoughtful, personally responsible righties. So now the lefties have enough voting power to vote themselves some of the money earned by the hard-working right – just like in Doomed’s little story about tribes that he posted a few days ago – and they’re going to take full advantage of it. It’s ironic that, according to Justice Ruth Ginsberg, this is just the scenario Roe v. Wade, and Planned Parenthood, were supposed to prevent!

Maybe if the lefties weren’t so ignorant and gullible, they would see that it is the antichrist Obama the Indonesian’s policies that will destroy and bankrupt this country, not the policies of Goerge W. Bush.

I *hope* Doomed is right, because I think the Obama tax hikes will end up taking more than 20 or 25 percent over what they’re already taking.

But seriously, when someone tries to back up they’re comments by using “Jokes about Bush and WMD” and “You Tube” videos, it makes me very much concerned about the state of the school system in this country. And then to think Jokes and You-Tube form such a solid argument that they end their comment with GAME. SET. MATCH., all I can say is Really? Jokes and You-Tube. Really? ROTFLMFAO…

My personal list of “Abortion supporters who really should have been Aborted themselves” just seems to keep getting longer every day.

And then “the days of making blanket statements is over” – When did that happen? When Obama took office and the moonbats didn’t want to have to deal with the same crap they were spewing for the last eight years???

Suck it up moonbats. Paybacks are hell (aka Obama’s REAL birthplace)!

    • david

      Chuck,

for you and all of the other birthers.

Two (count ‘em) independent papers announced BHO’s birth. the microfiche for both announcements is available at the local library (if you happen to live in honolulu – if not, someone has already checked this out for you – http://www.factcheck.org/elections-2008/born_in_the_usa.html). Included in that linked page is a preponderance of footnoted, referenced analysis of the birth certificate.

Obama won’t release the original certificate.

Hawaii state law forbids the release of birth or marriage certificates to anyone but the persons named in the documents or their immediate relatives.
      https://www.ehawaii.gov/doh/vitrec/exe/vitrec.cgi

Some states, including Hawaii, will NOT provide the original copy of the certificate – to anyone. What they produce is generally a computer issued short-form and which is considered certified and as legally valid as the original, whereas *a photocopied original is not considered legally valid* – it even says so right on the certificate)

Chuck, to address your question, we liberals are angry because you make us tired inside. For example, you won’t read, or click or take any of the info I’ve provided in this post and do your own legwork – even if you actually do follow up, you’ll claim it’s all false and link to some half-assed basement blogger on the right-wing crazynet who makes unsubstantiated allegations of a conspiracy amongst health officials and two independent commie newspapers back in aug ’61. You will flatly refuse to accept the fact that you are wrong, in this case, and you’ll go on spouting the same birther nonsense tomorrow. The only reason I can claim all of this with confidence is because I’ve seen it OVER AND OVER. You make us tired inside.

      Regards.

In the meantime the US DEFICIT exceeds 1 trillion and climbing for this fiscal year.

      personally responsible righties.

Well, we no longer need worry about catastrophy wiping us out. The mass detonation of irony meters from that sentence alone will probably destroy the planet.
The rest of the comment was an impressive combination of stupid and crazy rarely seen. (Well, unless Michelle Bachmann or Ann Coulter are on TV.)

Does anyone else remember when Reagan decided public mental institutions were a bad idea and righties insisted it wouldn’t end in crazy people wandering around unmedicated and bothering the rest of us? I feel pretty much vindicated for opposing that now.

    • Doomed

I for one dont believe that Obama was born in Hawaii and thats why no birth certificate has been released.

I have my Original birth certificate IN MY HOUSE….and I was born before Barak Obama was born.

Even still. Congress should just pass a law and declare him a natural born US citizen to prevent a constitutional crisis. The greatest thing to ever happen to the GOP is the election of Barry “BudgetDeficit” Obama and the democratic party unchecked.

2010 will see a massive resurgence of the one party that actually has a clue.

Want to see what the socialize America program of Barak Obama will bring us? Just look at California. Thats what we all have to look forward too. Overrun with Illegal aliens, Broke, Bankrupt and taxes out the ying yang.

      Wow…..I can’t wait.

Want to see what the socialize America program of Barak Obama will bring us? Just look at California. Thats what we all have to look forward too. Overrun with Illegal aliens, Broke, Bankrupt and taxes out the ying yang.

You mean the state with the Republican governor? The one that took the usual GOP party line of “Spend like money falls from the sky while demanding lower taxes” and, like everyone else in his party, couldn’t figure out why it didn’t work? That California?
Or are you talking about a different California?

Obama isn’t a Socialist. He’s not even a liberal. The only liberal policy he’s really pushing is health care reform…and he’s waffling mightily on that. Other than that, most of us can’t tell the difference between him and Bush. Besides his ability to speak in complete sentences, I mean.
Besides, absolutely everyone (sane) supports some aspects of socialism. Unless you’d like to fire all cops/firefighters/military and stop driving on roads.
Everyone supports some aspects of capitalism.
The only difference between the left and the right are how much of each you support.

      JT

Just to prove that I’m insane. Privatized fire, police, and roads could possibly be the best thing that could happen. I can think of no better incentive for “good citizenship” than to discover that your own careless or selfish actions have very negative consequences. If (speaking generically) ones behavior led to a higher monetary cost for say…umm..I dunno.. haboring a crack dealer, maybe that activity wouldn’t happen as often. The true plus side is that we wouldn’t have municipalities using their citizens as an ATM. Read Freidman, and set your mind free. :-)

@David (Comment 24) — You’ve got Chuck confused with someone else. Even though he’s a wacky righty (:-)) he’s on our side — he thinks it’s time for the birthers to take a break, too :-)

      Dave

You said” Chuck, for you and all of the other birthers.”

Amigo, while I may be guilty of many sins, that is the last one I’m guilty of.

As for your other comments, I won’t go into further detail. Just let it suffice that sometimes we may disagree with a smile.

    • Fandb

I can’t wait for Obama’s health plan to take effect. Seriously. The sooner the better. I will probably need to see a doctor in 10 or 20 years, so I need to get on the waiting list right now.

    • Joe Lovell

An announcement in a news paper is hardly proof of anything. There are annoncements of elvis sightings and UFO abductions too.

JT, yeah the state with a RINO gov, who is married to a Kennedy, and has had a Dem legislature almost forever (since 1970 only two years have seen GOP control of our legislature – 95 & 96).

Oh, and I just checked my B/C – has all sorts of stuff, including my two tiny little foot prints.

    • Mike Hatcher

Joe- you just stole part of my thunder, but I was going to say, Things happen!
It isn’t Obama’s fault that when he was an infant someone messed up his paperwork and it ended up getting destroyed in Roswell New Mexico by a crashing object.
      (Cue the music to X-files)..

    • Fandb

It doesn’t really matter anyway. The SCOTUS already gave a heads-up as to the way they will rule if a case ever does make it to the high court. In the court’s opinion, the People ‘vetted’ Obama by electing him and the Supreme Court will not reverse the will of the people in a national presidential election.

OK, let me get this straight. I am a bright guy, Columbia grad, Harvard Law, community organizer, State Senator, U.S. Senator. I meet with some other very sharp people to talk about running for Pres. I say “Oh, by the way, I wasn’t born in US” They say, “No problem. No one will ever check ON THE FIRST BLACK PRESIDENT!! Give me a break all you conspiracy nuts. Are you so comfortable in your ignorance that you don’t see the insanity in your argument?

    • Gurney

FandB, the ‘original’ in your safe is not your Illinois state-certified registered original birth certificate.

If your footprints are on it, and you were born in Illinois, and there’s a doctor’s signature on it, that’s a document issued by the hospital where you were born. It isn’t a document issued by the State of Illinois. The state will have authorized the hospital notary. Perhaps that’s the source of your confusion.

You will never have possession of your official State of Illinois birth certificate. It’s locked up in Springfield, where it will stay.

But Illinois Secretary of State’s Office will, for a fee, give you a *copy* of your certified registered State of Illinois birth certificate. It does not come with your footprints on it.

How do I know this? Because I, too, am from Illinois. When I needed copies of my State of Illinois certified registered birth certificate, I happened to live in Springfield. I walked through the process there on the ground floor of the Secretary of State’s office.

In other words, your assumptions are faulty, and your conclusions are built upon them.

    • Sam Holloway

Wow, this is hilarious and tragic at the same time. Are you ‘birthers’ really serious? You aren’t secret agents of The Onion, or anything like that? ‘Cause the only reason I can see that you’d so tenaciously hang on to such a patently, obviously ridiculous talking point is that you are a bunch of f–ing racists. No matter what kind of documentation Obama produces, the N—er President will never be ‘legitimate’ to you armchair Klansmen.

Also, I agree with Bad Dog. Michael Moore is not a 9/11 Truther. He merely shed light on some obvious questions about the Bush administration’s nonexistent response to the attacks as they were unfolding.

    • Sam Holloway

Also, it’s so refreshing to see that the U.S. military is coddling irrational, treasonous racists while they unceremoniously discard loyal, honorably serving soldiers (who just happen to be gay or lesbian).

    • Fandb

Gurney – I wasn’t born in Illinois. My parents moved here when I was a toddler.

    • Chuck

      GTL
Wow, look at all the new guys. I didn’t know your family was that big. :-)

    • Fandb

      Dang assumptions.

    • Fandb

I’ll bet that at least 10 or 20% of the people who voted for Obama did so because they’re non-black racists trying to prove to themselves that they’re not racists – like all those so-called ‘tolerant’ liberals who make sure they have at least one black ‘friend’. But they never invite him over unless there are going to be other people around so they can show how ‘oh, so’ tolerant’ they are. And another 10% probably voted for him because they are non-white racists trying to stick it to whitey.

So, really, Obama probably owes his presidency to racism.

      And his teleprompter.

    • Doomed

Or are you talking about a different California?

A majority of Democrats (52%) identify as liberal, and an even higher proportion (64%) say they prefer a government that offers more services with higher taxes. On the other hand, 69% of Republicans identify as conservative, and an overwhelming proportion (71%) prefer lower taxes and fewer services.

No Im talking about this California…..More services cost more money. Yet we have a state of California that has a political makeup in the assembly of….29 republicans, 1 independent and FOURTY NINE 49 Democrats and yet>????

Its the GOP’s fault. Only in California.

    • Mike Hatcher

Jim D.H.- Before I attack your argument, let me distiguish that I honestly don’t care about the certification at all. The noise is indeed, just that, just noise. That being said, I disagree with your argument on a couple of points, first the “sharp people” you refer to, I suspect aren’t as sharp as you may think. Second, there is ample evidence of how little our leaders seem to check or care about laws. Geither not paying taxes until he had to being put as head of the treasury as just one example. These people constantly hide, constantly cheat and cover up things. My theory, and it is only wild speculation is that Obama, born a U.S. citizen in Hawaii, had parents that at some point in his life, tampered with the documents for some reason, perhaps to help his situation while living in Indonesia. It would be embarassing and/or troublesome to “explain it all away” so they just cover it all up. Again, entertaining for me, but I care not. His policies bother me, not what type of soil his mother was above when she gave birth.

    • Doomed

DOOMED: The days of making blanket statements are over. Produce any and all links to provide adequate proof of a 20% tax hike.

June 12 (Bloomberg) — Health-care overhaul legislation being drafted by House Democrats will include $600 billion in tax increases and $400 billion in cuts to Medicare and Medicaid, Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel said.

That is 1 trillion dollars removed from the economy and given to the government to spend.

But health-policy experts say the government has little choice but to impose some type of tax on the benefits if it wants to finance the overhaul, which is expected to cost $1.2 trillion over 10 years. Mr. Obama already has set aside about half the money to pay for it.

      Cap and Trade:

The CBO acknowledges this in a footnote: “The resource cost does not indicate the potential decrease in gross domestic product (GDP) that could result from the cap.”

      Additonally.

When the Heritage Foundation did its analysis of Waxman-Markey, it broadly compared the economy with and without the carbon tax. Under this more comprehensive scenario, it found Waxman-Markey would cost the economy $161 billion in 2020.

So the days of blanket statements are over.

The democrats want to tax your health care to pay for health care and they want to tax companies who make stuff forcing them to use less energy or paying taxes to make stuff….BAH..RILLIANT!!!

    • Gurney

Doomed, it actually *is* the GOP’s fault in California. The state constitution allows a minority in the state legislature to block revenue-related legislation if that minority is large enough.

The CA GOP legislative minority is above the required size, and votes pretty much in lockstep.

You, of course, can’t know this because it isn’t ever published anywhere.

But don’t change the subject. Birfers can’t stand on facts. They can make up more claims and refuse to face reality, but all that does is deepen their personal pathology.

No, FandB, he won the election because he wasn’t an ammoral sick old man with dead ideas and a narcissistic ignoramus as his veep candidate.

    • Fandb

Wrong, Gurney – he won because he convinced a large number of politically ignorant young people and uneducated people to vote for him based on a promise of “change.”

We’re getting change all right. It is called Socialism. It is called the end of Liberty as we have known it. It is called economic catastrophe the likes of which the U.S. has never seen before.

And all this in spite of being an amoral sick young man with an ignoramus as his VP candidate.

    • Mike Hatcher

Gurney- Taking your comment at face value, what legislation did the GOP stop that caused the California financial disaster? I’m an easy sell on the idea that Republicans spend money like rain, but I absolutely can’t imagine Democrats trying to pass legislation that cuts spending and programs that get blocked by the Republican minority. Do you have any examples of this?

    • JT

      @FANDB

I’ll bet that at least 10 or 20% of the people who voted for Obama did so because they’re non-black racists trying to prove to themselves that they’re not racists – like all those so-called ‘tolerant’ liberals who make sure they have at least one black ‘friend’.

Epic fail. “We white men are persecuted!” is a rallying cry that’s only going to get people in pointy hoods and Brown Shirts on your side. Bonus Epic Fail: Whatever that number is, I’m sure it was more than balanced out by the number of conservatives that’d sooner be flayed alive than vote for anyone that wasn’t a white male.

@Gurney: Corrupt/Amoral and “politician” are redundant. It doesn’t matter which one you’re talking about. They’re all that way. At one point the two major parties at least tried to balance one another out…Now they march in near lockstep on far too many issues. Chances are better than not I’m going to loathe anything they agree on.

@GTL: Another gun toting liberal, here. ExNRA member, even. Ex because I disagree with them the best place for guns is in a school. I’ve seen far too many people shoot. They’re hilariously bad shots. Most couldn’t hit the ground by pointing the gun at it.

@Chuck: I’m familiar with the ideas of the free market. (I actually describe myself as a liberal leaning libertarian.) I agree with some and disagree with others, but I understand the arguments for and against them. A lot of the arguments against them can pretty much be summed up as “People just plain suck.”. Firefighters actually can be privatized. Speaking as a volunteer FF, we work pretty well, even if it is obnoxious to have to jump out of bed at 2 in the morning because some dumbass tried to use a toaster and duct tape to make a space heater.
Military and police are a little harder to privatize. With the military you end up with orgs like Blackwater. The group that, if you heard something bad about our military, 80-90% of the time, were responsible for it. I’ve seen military equipment and military training. I do not want a bunch of lowest bidders wandering around with that stuff.

    • Andy Schaeffer

A very pertinant point here, is that he VOLUNTEERED to go, and as a VOLUNTEER, he’s allowed, by Army rules, to UNVOLUNTEER.

What sucks is that by doing so, he sends someone else in his place, someone who got very little notice.

No soldier treats his fellow soldier that way.

Was it a ploy, a posture designed to make headlines? Don’t know and neither do you…all we know is that he sent someone else into harm’s way in his stead.

      Some soldier.

    • Chuck

      JT

      First:
In defense of my bud F&B (although he is quite capable of defending himself), he’s no brownshirt, and certainly no racist. He DOES however have a terrible anti-PC streak.Go figure.

      Second:
The military is one of the few legitimate functions of the government. I know because it says so in the Constitution and I read it once. I restricted my comments to fire, police and roads.

Third: Good on ya mate for being in the VFD.I have had, and still do, many a friend in the VFD.

Finally: Your politics sound like our gracious host. I still maintain hope that y’all might see the light someday.I consider it my personal cross to bear. :-)

    • JT

@Chuck: Yeah, I didn’t mean to imply he was a brownshirt or a Klanner, just that those were the ones that argument would call to his side.
I’m not much for PC either.

I’m not sure it’s possible to privatize the police either. You’d be handing an awful lot of power to people that would be, essentially, only responsible to their shareholders. In fairly short order we’d probably have places with “Dignity Battalions”. As long as they made enough people happy to keep from being fired, anything would be ok. The other problem is there are far too many people with guns (myself included) that wouldn’t recognize the authority of someone a random group of people hired.
As it is, in theory, the police work for all of us as a whole and are answerable to all.

    • The GTL™

@Chuck — LMFAO — and one big happy family at that, bro!!! ;-)

    • Fandb

      Thanks Chuck.

JT: I never said white men are persecuted. That’s covered in another post on Sotomayor’s indiscretions and biases.

My comments focused on the fact that most liberals are phonies. They are nowhere near as tolerant as they like to pretend to be.

The other part is the fact that a portion of minorities vote for minorities exclusively. Many blacks voted for Obama because he is black. It may not be ‘PC’ but it is reality.

Interesting side note. Obama’s popularity poll has dropped below the percentage of votes he received. Some of the people who voted for him are regretting their decision.

    • Gurney

“what legislation did the GOP stop that caused the California financial disaster? (snip) . . . can’t imagine Democrats trying to pass legislation that cuts spending and programs that get blocked by the Republican minority. Do you have any examples of this?”

You can’t reframe your way out of this, or perhaps you’re authentically unaware of CA politics; Prop 13 froze property taxes with no regard for inflation. As inflation rose, funding for basic services dwindled. And the Republican minority is large enough to protect this bit of legislative toxicity, which poisons the State of California for the forseeable future.

But, hey, don’t worry about it. The whole NeoCon schema is based on selfishness. Nevermind that socialist bastard Ben Franklin, who said, “We must all hang together, or we will most assuredly hang separately.” And never mind Jesus Christ, the damn long-haired commie, and his give-it-all-away Sermon On The Mount.

Wall Street loves you guys. Stay just the way you are.

    • Doomed

You, of course, can’t know this because it isn’t ever published anywhere.

Actually My friend I know this to be true.

Bills passed by committees are read a second time on the floor in the house of origin and then assigned to third reading. Bill analyses are also prepared prior to third reading. When a bill is read the third time it is explained by the author, discussed by the Members and voted on by a roll call vote. Bills that require an appropriation or that take effect immediately, generally require 27 votes in the Senate and 54 votes in the Assembly to be passed. Other bills generally require 21 votes in the Senate and 41 votes in the Assembly. If a bill is defeated, the Member may seek reconsideration and another vote.

There are 50 democrats in the assembly and it only requires 54 votes or 41 votes to pass legislation not including the budget legislations which requires 2/3 rds.

Blaming the California mess on a couple Republicans who are tired of voting for tax increases every year is the creme de la creme of spin.

    • army13bro

LOL why you libs ARE really mean!! haha grow a pair! i think cook has his “pair” hanging over you libs heads cuz hes got the “pair” to challenge the man!!!

i think obama should grab his “pair” and prove himself right..

      HOORAH COOK!

    • Lightsender

A liberal preaches openmindedness until he has predominent power. To get power, he uses adhominem arguments, ridicule and if possible, charges of racism and prejiduce. Further, he uses Judeo Christian morality to “dis” his opponents all the while not striving for such morality himself. Instead, he is given a free pass on the same issues.

Liberals are awash at sea, driven by the wind. They have no real anchor. Their lack of real substance is proven by the fact that they cannot sustain talk radio as conservatives can.

I sincerely feel sorry for most of them. . .in both this life and the next.

In the mean time, America seems to be waking up just a little bit, to see what liberals are foisting on this country. I hope it is not too late.

    • OMG - WTF?

So, Lightsender; everyone who disagrees with you POLITICALLY will burn in hell?

      Wow. I mean; wow.

    • Not Confused, Just Disgusted

I’ve read all of this crap and that’s all I can say about it….. CRAP If it looks like crap, squishes between your toes like crap and stinks like CRAP, it’s CRAP. My kids couldn’t even play Little League Baseball without a Birth Certificate. I was born in 1958 and have one and it looks nothing like the faked CRAP submitted by the fake POTUS. WTF race is African???? Last time I look at a map, Africa was a continent, not a country. I guess by that reasoning, all of these illegal aliens from Mexico ARE American citizens since they are on the same continent. CRAP CRAP CRAP

    • Ranger

So an Air Force NCO, the bulk of whom stay on secure air bases even if they actually do deploy, has the gall and audacity to call a SOLDIER a coward, wow I’m stunned but definitely not surprised. As a retired army officer I’ve seen quite a few deployments and many of those in conjunction with the Air Force. Don’t get me wrong, there are a lot of good men serving in that service, but as the service least likely to see combat (other than the small percentage that are pilots of attack aircraft of course)I doubt you have seen the first round fired in anger! Until you walk a mile in the Majors boots you don’t have what it takes to determine whether he’s a coward or not. And let’s look at you. You made a choice to join a service that would keep you out of harms way. So I guess you’re a coward! You didn’t even have to step up as a target and bring suit to keep your sorry @ss safe. If you had half a spine I should have found you beside me in one of my Infantry or Ranger companies.

You’re typical of most liberals, good with the mouth, not much else. So until you post your Silver Star citation. (I’ll take any Air Force medal given for valor) crawl back into your air conditioned rec tent and leave the determination of a mans bravery to those who leave the wire everyday!

    • The GTL™

Gee, Ranger — pretty high on yourself, eh? Great. Glad to hear it. FYI, I’m a DISABLED Operation Iraqi Freedom Air Force veteran (Service-connected; hostile fire zone) who is still serving in the IRR, on call, BTW, till 2011. I guess you haven’t served in OIF or you’d damn well know better about the USAF and its troops and how damned many of them resided outside of the wire there and still do in Afghanistan.

Go thump your chest somewhere else, SIR.

    • The GTL™

Oh, and I’m sorry — didn’t mean to be so rude. Welcome to The GTL, Sir. That said, you DO deserve what you got for beating up on my entire branch of service without knowing what you were talking about. I attacked ONE man who I still stand by to this day for being a COWARD and you not only attacked me (which is fine, BTW) but you attacked my fellow Airmen, some of whose cold, steel caskets, I personally helped be sure made it back home. Have fun and please come back again.
