Poor, Poor Sarah Palin — Where’s The White House’s “Department Of Law” When Ya’ Need ‘Em?

Sarah “The Barracuda” Invents A New White House Department While Attempting To Explain Her Lightning-Quick Resignation As Alaska Governor To The Mainstream Media (“MSM”)…

<strong><center>AND TO THINK WE ATTENDED JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER IN WASILLA...</strong></center>

AND TO THINK WE ATTENDED JUNIOR HIGH SCHOOL TOGETHER IN WASILLA...

In her interview with Kate Snow of ABCNews today, The Barracuda from the frigid waters of the Great State Of Alaska went on the record to explain a major reason behind her surprising resignation was the [Palinesque] FACT she was tired of costing the state so much money as a focus of ethics complaint after ethics complaint after ethics complaint. Andrew Sullivan of The Daily Dish points out this is just one of many, many traceable lies by The Barracuda — her ethics challenges have cost her Alaskan constituents very little money, in fact. But then again, this column isn’t about how big of a liar The Barracuda is — ALL politicians are liars after all. So back to the point…

From ABCNews (H/T goes out to MemeOrandum for the pull…):

“… As to whether another pursuit for national office, as when she joined Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in the race for the White House less than a year ago, would result in the same political blood sport, Palin said there was a difference between the White House and what she had experienced in Alaska. If she were in the White House, she said, the “department of law” would protect her from baseless ethical allegations.

“I think on a national level, your department of law there in the White House would look at some of the things that we’ve been charged with and automatically throw them out,” she said.

There is no “Department of Law” at the White House. …”

DUH.

We’d all love to be rescued by The Department Of Law from some sort an “injustice” we’ve suffered over the years, wouldn’t we? Too bad there is no such thing as “The Department Of Law Of The White House” — we could always use a new, FOURTH branch of government after all, couldn’t we? Combine both the Executive and Judicial branches into one secretive little office called “The White House Department Of Law” to rescue us when we need it and there we go, eh? Or would that be the FIFTH “Superbranch” since The Barracuda seems to have agreed with FORMER (Thank God) Vice President Richard “Dick” “Shotgun” Cheney’s observation that a vice president is his or her fourth “Superbranch” of government since he or she sits in the Executive yet breaks Legislative ties in the Senate?

I swear to God, I don’t know how this happened. After all, as many of you know, Sarah and I both attended school together in Wasilla, Alaska and I could SWEAR we both sat in the same classroom as we were being taught about the Separation of Powers, the Constitution, and our three equal but separate Branches of government. She was a member of the National Honor Society (“NHS”) and always earned straight “A’s” while I was mostly a perennial camper on the “2nd Honor Roll” and I remember her being very well spoken at that. I remember her being a very likeable, decent, pretty, approachable and highly intelligent young lady back in those days…

What’s up, Sarah? I’m beginning to worry about you.

IN the meantime the Democratic controlled congress is trying to ram thru a bill that will raise the prices of everything in America so you can have health care.

Cap and trade is a gigantic tax on everyone and will hit the very people Obama professes to care about the most…….the poor.

Wealth redistribution is happening in our country but to everyones surprise its not taking from the rich to give to the poor…….NO…its taking from everyone and giving to the government.

In the meantime Green Jobs are nothing more then jobs to succor the governments voracious appetite for stuff.

In the meantime YOU all are going to pay out the nose for everything. But I digress….back to more important things.

Politicans lie and Sarah Palin is a politician. Who’d a thunk it.

Alaska has a Department of Law. It’s really not all that big a deal that Palin would say that, since she is, unlike you, capable of understanding government functions without memorizing the names.

Apparently, Sarah got much more out of her schooling than you did.

  • Harold Franklin

Apparently, she didn’t get a lot of schooling. The fact that Alaska calls its Attorney General’s Department, the Department of Law is irrelevant. NOBODY ELSE DOES! And everybody knows that White House has a series of Counsels. Not a “Department of Law”.

Its absolutely remarkable, that a supposed contender of President of the United States cannot even correctly articulate reasons for her own defense.

Haven’t we been through this in the previous 8 Years?

Sarah Palin will be back in about 1-1/2 years and she will be a formidable political force when she does run for public office again. I know all the dem’s like to get their rocks off by attacking her for whatever reason they can find or imagine, but that really won’t have much effect on her ultimate political power. It’s just a bunch of hacks mentally whacking off.

In the meantime, are you all really so blind and stubborn and afraid to admit you were wrong that you turn a blind eye to the reality of what Comrade O’bummer is doing to this country.

Nationalization of major industries, nationalization of banks, government control of hospitals, doctors, and nurses, and the list goes on. Even the little town of Wasilla, and whatever city or town the rest of y’all are from MUST have taught that those things are COMMUNISM.

Don’t be so stubborn that you refuse to see what the current regime is doing. We the People have to step up and stop this BEFORE it goes any further. Comrade O’bummer is turning this country into the People’s Republic of America right before our eyes and all you can do is bash the ex-governor of Alaska???

Do you all really not care about this country, or do you agree that we should convert to communism?

gunner says, “Alaska has a Department of Law. It’s really not all that big a deal that Palin would say that, since she is, unlike you, capable of understanding government functions without memorizing the names.”

Actually, Gunner, it wouldn’t be such a big deal if she just got the name wrong — but she got the entire function wrong. She apparently believes that there is a Dept of Law “IN” the White House which would throw out frivolous ethics complaints without hearing them.

I think we all recognize a politician who wants to politicize the Doj, after 8 years of Bush doing so illegally. The DoJ serves the law, not the President, and the people of this great country have the honor and privilege of having the a democracy, not a dictatorship, as implied by Sarah’s statement.

Sarah believes the Dept of Law would serve her, not the law or the people. That is the issue.

That and the 3 arms of separate government.

Sarah Palin made it very clear that she is the antithesis of a modern woman, she values sports over political issues, she salutes environmentally unfriendly decisions such as dumping mine slurry with heavy metal contamination into a lake in Alaska that will kill all the fish while also making the water unsafe for wildlife, she says one thing about her past but the facts show a different story, and she knows a lot about foreign policy because she can see Russia from her kitchen window. If she runs for the White House in 2012, it will be another barrel of laughs for all the sensible men and women in America – not to mention a shoo-in for the Democratic Party.

Victoria: “she values sports over political issues” – yeah, right, that must be why she ran for V.P.

“she salutes environmentally unfriendly decisions such as dumping mine slurry” – a False rumor created by HuffPo with a decidedly left-wing spin. I know working with the truth is a foreign concept to most lefties, but give it a try some time, just be honest with the facts without trying to spin them to support the twisted view from the left.

“she can see Russia from her kitchen window” – Come now, that’s even worse that plagiarizing HuffPo. Believing the drivel from SNL pretty much defines the intellectual level of the lefties these days, now that ACORN and other organized crime groups have dumbed down the Party of Hate to the point they would actually elect someone like Chairman Mao-bama.

Conservatism is the political equivalent of that big swirl in your toilet bowel. Obama is supposedly a socialist because he is saving the Wall St institutions that are at the heart of the trickle down economics – the true gods that Republicans worship – no bid contracts and hundreds of billions in corporate welfare handed out by Bush and Republicans what? The free market at its best.Yet Sarah who collects her regular checks from the collective oil wealth sharing program is not a socialist. Todd Palin gets his check plus belongs to that great supposed organ of socialism, a labor union – in between flirting with some treasonous Jefferson Davis style secessionist group( member for 7 years).

Cap and trade is a devious socialist plot. What an odd socialist plot since supporters of cap and trade and the transition to a greener economy includes business and financial interest that includes Arete Capital, Bruce Oreck, Esq., Chaucery Financial Advisors, Ecosa Capital, Expansion Capital Partners, Conergy, INC,
Solectria Renewables, Washington Electric Cooperative, The Saunders Hotel Group and Environmental Consulting, Robert Preston, Merrill Lynch, and Dow Chemical, Pacific Bioscience Labs, Burlington Electric Department among hundreds of others. Most studies support the fact that the trend toward green jobs like manufacturing wind turbine motors, rotors, solar cells and panels could replace the 500,000 auto related jobs lost during the Bush economy.

A public health option will lower the costs and improve the quality of care in a system that is dominated by an uncompetitive oligarchic hand full of insurance companies and health-care corporation who frequently decides who lives and who dies based on the profitability of keeping them alive. Traditional PPO insurance is living many middle-class families filing for bankruptcy – the Right would rather millions of families spend their last years in misery then allow them to pool their resources to make a failing health-care system work. If public health-care is good enough for our brave soldiers and sailors its good enough for the rest of us.If public health-care is communism that makes our military communist. The U.S.auto industry among other businesses thinks a public-health option will make them more competitive in a global market where countries like Germany, Japan and Sweden supply their workers with a public plan.

Palin for president in 2012; and all the non-nonsensical drivel, mob mentality hate mongering and hypocrisy that will go with it? Please, please, please bring it on.

Are you talking about the same “Dept. of Law” as Obama was talking about ’seeing dead people’, ‘57 states’, ‘10,000 dead in Kansas storm’, ‘no technology to create spoof YouTubes’, ‘parents getting together over an even that happened AFTER they got together’? There’s more, but I bet you get the picture.

I think we all know that since Alaska has a Dept of Law, she was referring to the process. Yes, it makes a difference and it shows her lack of being verse in the legal arena. Frankly, I don’t care…I would rather the person in charge have some common sense with integrity rather than speaking through a teleprompter and having to wonder if he got that wrong because he can’t read or because he WAS SIMPLY reading what someone else wrote.

I must confess to being somewhat confused by your screed. It seems you’re saying that Wall St. and Big Corporations are inherently evil, since Bu$Hitler and his GOP lackeys worshipped and abetted them. However in the next paragraph you listed the very same entities as good and benign since they are supporting Cap/Trade? Is Cap/Trade the path to redemption and thus salvation? May the evil become good simply by believing? Sounds suspiciously like a religion rather than science or even a policy, but I will suspend judgement pending further information.

As for health care, perhaps if the US government could demonstrate some kind of saving on the 40 odd percent of the healthcare market they control, the prospects for expanding that percentage might improve. I remain skeptical.

Oh, one other thing – as I pointed out in a different thread, the VP could be considered part of the Legislative branch – Pres. of the Senate – or part of the Executive branch – next in line. So, Guns, and others, in a way the VP is in an odd postion of being in two branches of the Federal government. The only powers the Constitution mentions for the the VP is to preside in the upper house of Congress and cast a vote in case of a tie, and to take over if the President of the US vacates the office.

I think they misspoke as it being extra- or super- constitutional, but is is a unique office.

Chairman Mao-bama is showing everyone what real trickle-down economics is all about. We all give our money to the government, and then we get to wait and see how much we’ll get back. Try none. Or very little at best.

True.. All politicians misspeak. But I defy you, absolutely defy you to find some one who can summon up the mountain of inarticulateness she does. She was asked a simple question by Katie Couric. “What news papers do you read?” Please point out any coherent thought in her reply.

At least Sarah Palin, unlike Comrade O’bummer, is able to speak to a crowd without having to read what someone else wrote.

Not really, Andrew Sullivan noted this doozy.

At a fundraiser in Canton, Ohio, this evening, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin had an interesting description of her speech to the Republican convention. “There Ohio was right out in front, right in front of me,” Palin said. “The teleprompter got messed up, I couldn’t follow it, and I just decided I’d just talk to the people in front of me. It was Ohio.”

McCain-Palin campaign spokesman Tucker Bounds says no, and disputes any notion that Palin was implying that she ad-libbed the speech by saying she “couldn’t follow it” on the teleprompter, so she “just decided I’d just talk to the people in front of me.” McCain-Palin spokeswoman Jill Hazelbaker says, “She was off the prompter at points.”

But as for her remarkable oratory ability, I refer the honorable gentleman to her response to Katie Couric about what Newspapers she reads and then her resignation speech. Again, I defy anybody to produce a coherent stream of thought throughout the whole thing.

If you didn’t listen to the speech, then you shouldn’t comment on it so disparagingly. If you did listen to the speech and didn’t hear any “coherent stream of thought”, then I would say the problem doesn’t lie with Sarah…

Hmm…I find that an odd comment. particularly since Karl Rove can’t seem to figure out, neither can Ed Rollins and host of other prominent Republicans. If you can tell us what the heck she was talking about..a greatful nation waits with breathless anticipation.

Dear Chuck in response to your comment about Biden. I agree he can be gaffe prone. But as Dalia Latwick pointed out….”But—with the exception of a well-scripted performance at the Republican National Convention—it’s tough to find an extemporaneous Palin speech, statement, or tweet that contains a coherent message……

Palin’s completely inscrutable resignation speech last week was only the most recent example of a lengthy political communication from her that explained nothing, clarified nothing, and expounded upon nothing, save for the fact that she speaks in riddles and koans. Watch it as many times as you like; you still come away feeling you’ve been treated to a cozy chat with the Mad Hatter

. If you think of Palin as someone who never felt herself to be fully heard or understood, not truly politically realized in the eyes of the American public, her rage toward the country, the media, and those of us who fail to love and understand her is easier to comprehend. Think of an American visiting France who believes that if he just speaks louder, he will be speaking French. Palin has done everything in her power to explain herself to us, and still we fail to appreciate what she is all about. I’d be frustrated, too, if I thought I was offering up straight talk and nobody was getting the message. Especially if I held a degree in communications..”

It’s pretty clear, Harold, that you have made up your mind before you even hear Sarah speak, if you ever have. I have no problem at all understanding her and her positions on various issues. I’m sure there is nothing Sarah Palin could say that would change your mind. But as she said in her farewell speech, (paraphrasing from memory here) “…your enemies won’t believe you anyway.”

BTW, typing in all capitals doesn’t make you sound french either, neither does it make your comment more valid.

Actually, the teleprompter did malfunction. Or do you really think the “soccer mom” joke was scripted?

So it remains, the Party of Hate is scared to death of Sarah Palin and will do whatever they can to try to destroy her before the next election cycle. You’re in the minority on this, Party of Haters, Palin’s popularity continues to grow.

FanDB are you serious in insinuating that somehow Barack Obama is a communist?
Man, if that is true, you need serious psychiatric help.
    Really.
    Go and get some .
    RIght now.
There aren’t any communists in the USA. There aren’t even any in RUSSIA!!! It’s over since…er….circa 1989!!!! 20 years ago!

Anyway I don’t think you really believe it. I think it’s the only thing the Republican die-hards have left; seeing as they can’t make rational arguments against Obama’s policies. WHY? Because they know deep down there’s he’s right.

You see Republicans believe in competition rather than co-operation. So what do they do when they lose? Lie and lie and lie, try to pretend it’s not real; that the world hasn’t changed. . . well boys and girls I’m afraid it has. And you need to change too. Difficult though it is…

But listen, in reality, it’s for the best. The reason you in the USA are suffering right now; is because over the last 8 years the REPUBLICANS (Not a bunch Communists; okay?) sold your country from under you.
(Actually not really Republicans; a bunch of thieving snakes posing as Republicans!)

George Bush, DIck Cheney, Donald Rumsfeld, cold cold men who could care less about the people of America. Don’t believe me? What did they do for any of yoru communities? Nothing. Big business? Everything.
They allowed their friends on Wall Street to run riot with bad business practices that have led to this collapse. And you want to blame Obama? Listen mate, he’s the best person for you right now. He’s smart and smart people can solve problems. He can see beyond the next few years and that’s what’s important. So don’t be short sighted and petty. Instead of complaining you should look at ways you can help your country improve.

I must just query your calling Democrats the party of hate. That seems very odd to me. The Republicans have always been the party that divides people as far as i can remember. Just like the wealthy people do all over the world. Divide and Rule. Divide the people by pointing out their differences and making them hate each other; then Ruling them. That, I think, makes them the Party of Hate. But maybe you’re using the old trick of accusing your opponent of your own short-comings? Hmmm?

Right now, you really should put all that divisive stuff aside; your country is in trouble and you need to unite.

    Good Luck.

Oh and as for Sarah Palin? . She shouldn’t even have been picked as VP. Unbelievable incompetence. Ill-informed and lies at every opportunity. Here’s a list so far:

    http://andrewsullivan.theatlantic.com/the_daily_dish/2009/07/the-odd-lies-of-sarah-palin-a-roundup.html

And now she flees office before the scandal starts.. . . why is she REALLY leaving now, when she clung on to her Governorship during the Election? (Unlike Clinton & Bush, who surrendered theirs when they ran.)

Why leave now? It’s got to be something dodgy. Her official speech seemed rushed and incoherent. She seemed like she was lying with every sentence; her breath seemed panicky. Very odd behaviour. Why didn’t anything happen about her misuse of power as Governor anyway? I tell you man, I just think there’s something very fishy about her. . . wouldn’t be surprised if she ends up in prison.

    “Go and get some .
RIght now.” – - – Yeah, I’ll get right on that.

“So don’t be short sighted and petty. Instead of complaining you should look at ways you can help your country improve.” – - – That’s what I do, all the time mate. Unlike the thieving little Obama-bots who only want to take more and more of my hard-earned money while they sit at home on their lazy asses or hang out on the street corner bitching that all the white rich people should pay their way.

“your country is in trouble” – - – maybe not quite as much trouble as some seem to think.

The problem is that you are only getting your information from the “main stream media” which has become nothing more than a mouthpiece for the far left. You are not likely to be getting a balanced view of what is really going on in the U.S.

I do agree with you on one point. The citizens in this country, as well as in many other countries around the world, need to end the divisiveness and hatred that separate us and come together to solve the very solvable problems that confront us.

Now back to your initial statement. If you look at what Obama is doing, it is Socialism that transforms into Communism in some areas. He is nationalizing banks, industry, health care, to name a few. He is trying to pay for it all by taxing “the wealthy”, i.e. Redistribution of Wealth. And he is turning over control to the “workers”, e.g. 55% of an automotive manufacturing company being turned over to the labor union.

If you watch him speak without his teleprompter, you will likely no longer regard him as intelligent. In fact, Sarah Palin performs much better in impromptu speaking than does Obama.

There’s still plenty of Communism in the world; Cuba, People’s Republic of China, etc. Obama has held Cuba in very high esteem in some of his speeches. I live in Illinois and have been watching this guy for a number of years, not just since his entrance onto the world stage. Before Obama is done, democrats in this country and abroad will be praying for a leader who is more like President Bush.

Lead the way, Fandb! The measured tone of your posts and your obvious respect for the other side would make you the perfect candidate to foster reconciliation.

Obviously sarcasm, but in my defense, I used to be much much more fair and balanced until the Party of Hate made me bitter.

Who? The Republicans? I’m sure they didn’t mean to. They just want to make money without any restrictions on them legally. Emotion doesn’t come into it with these people….I’m sure they didn’t want to upset you by bankrupting your country. The wealthiest country in the world! How much do you have to steal to do that? That’s a lot of money man! Surely someone would have seen the truck they drove off in??? Must have been one big truck….

The democrats are the Party of Hate.

I should have made that more clear.
The republicans are the Party of No.

How can anyone make you anything? You’re obviously having too much fun snarking to be bitter.

It’s unbelievable how stupid Palin and her supporters are. She’s dumber than a box of hair, and just as weird. She makes that evident with every word she speaks and action she takes. If people simply parrot back what she says, it’s some sort of communist conspiracy brought about by Comrade O’Bummer. All the right-wing nuts can do is come up with stupid nicknames (O’Bummer, Party of Hate, etc.). It’s like someone pointed out to you that you’re losing the game (because your captain’s an I-D-I-O-T who can’t play), so the best you can come up with is name-calling. Absolutely pathetic.

“stupid nicknames” — After eight years of ‘Bush-bashing’ what do you expect?

    Yeah, Paybacks are hell.

Paybacks are hell? Yeah! And now your all paying back what those Muthers stole from you! Bush bashing? Yeah! how about some real Bush Bashing? Public flogging for selling out the people of America to the rich. Where is he recently? Don’t hear much from him now everything’s going to hell in a handcart. Has he fled to that land he bought in Paraguay yet? Tosser…
