South Carolina Republicans Continue To Perpetrate The G.O.P. “Brand” As “The Party Of No [Sex]” Over Governor Mark Sanford’s Indiscretions

Meanwhile, Governor Sanford Continues To Sing Like A Bird Brag Like Most Other Men Would About His Numerous Sexual Conquests In Addition To Argentine Hottie, Maria Belen Chapur…

Aptly called The Party Of No (NO, NO, NO, NO!!! Sex is a filthy act reserved for marriage which is defined as a union between ONE man and ONE woman!!!), numerous Republican senators and congresscritters in the Great State of South Carolina who’ve simply not been caught yet for doing the same thing (just an educated guess on my part) are abandoning their “old friend” and calling for his resignation (The State — S.C.). In a way, Governor Mark Sanford deserves it — Mr. “Long Don9 Silver II” cannot seem to keep his mouth shut. He’s telling anybody and everybody with a camera and/or a microphone who is willing to give him a few minutes the opportunity to utter the basic equivalent of:

“Oh, heck yeah — Maria’s HOT and I just couldn’t stop boffing her. One week? You’ve gotta be kiddin’ me! How about over a half a dozen romps with that hottie? Try that one on for size. And not only THAT — there are others. MANY others, bro! Heck, I could write a triple-X book for the ages that’d knock yer’ frigging blocks off and steam those glasses of yours up!

Mark Sanford Maria Many Others Sexually Tense Republicans Call To Step Down South Carolina Republicans Continue To Perpetrate The G.O.P. Brand As The Party Of No [Sex] Over Governor Mark Sanfords IndiscretionsOkay — let’s ponder this whole thing for a second — from perhaps, a sort of unique point of view — that of a failed “Dot-Commer” and four-time CEO. As a CEO, I had many occasions to entertain and/or BE entertained by many other corporate CEO’s — some of them of the Fortune 500 and Fortune 1000 variety whom shall remain nameless to protect the guilty — in an effort to earn their business. While I was a sexual “angel” of a married man (my story and I’m stickin’ to it), I can tell you MOST of the others couldn’t wait to take me (or vice versa) out to the nearest “questionable” watering hole and shockingly, I would quite frequentlly see them engage in, and even encourage others, to join them in debauchery behind the backs of their significant others. Most of them are STILL CEO’s and most of them are still guiding their companies competently despite this economic disaster we are facing in these United States today. Sexual escapades don’t seem to be affecting their abilities to “lead”, or “govern”, whichever term you prefer.

SURPRISE, SURPRISE — South Carolinians are being governed by a lying, cheating politician. Or hundreds of them most likely. What a shocker, eh? And now, the all “High And Mighty, Sexually Oppressed” Republican and many Democratic politicians are calling for the man to step down before they even take a look to see if any crime, other than HAVING SEX, was committed by “Governor (John) Holmes”. Allow me to give a couple of quick points before I close on this topic…

  • 1 –There is NO PROOF I am aware of (correct me if I’m wrong) that turrets syndrome affects somebody’s ability to lead.
  • 1 – There is NO PROOF I am aware of (correct again me if I’m wrong) that lots of hot sex affects somebody’s ability to lead either.
  • Yeah, yeah, I know — “they” say “behind every great man is a great woman” but “they” fail to define what a “great woman” is and who’s to say Governor Holmes’ encounters weren’t “behind him” versus the other way around and how do we know his mulitple mistresses weren’t -slash- aren’t “great women”? After all, isn’t “great woman” a relative term? And wouldn’t “great women” be even a stronger recipe for success for a “great man”?

    Just askin’…

I’m going to make some gross generalizations here, full of holes, and you can point to lots of exceptions, BUT,

IN GENERAL people in positons of power, or who seek positions of power have extreme sex drives. One extreem or the other, dynamos or almost monastics. A quick overview of history (for you leftists, that means going back more than a year, it even means going back before the ancient history of the 2000 election) will show that this generalization holds up resonably well. Mao had lots of dalliances, Kate the Great of Russia – well, she would make any half dozen modern porn actresses look like nuns, Good Queen Bess seems to have been of the monastic sort, Harry S doesn’t seem to have strayed from his Bess.

And, power seems to be a sexual attractant. People with great power, publicity, or popularity have no end of people seeking sexual contact with them for whatever reason. Maybe it is hard wired into us – people with power will be better able to protect their mates and offspring.

Until very recently, all this was given a knowing wink and nod, and maybe a snicker at the persons taste, or lack thereof, in partners. For the benefit of some of the leftists here, I’m using “very recently” to refer to the 1884 race between Cleveland and Blaine (“Ma, Ma, here’s my Pa” and “Blaine, Blaine, James G. Blaine, the continental liar from the state of Maine” were some catchy phrases from that campaign. After Cleveland won, the Dems -the party of”Rum, Romanism, and Rebellion” – added a tag to the Ma, Ma chant: “Gone to the White House, ha, ha, ha.”).

      OK, enough history for today.

Guns, I would LOVE for a politcian to get up and say something like that. ‘Yeah, I was gettin’ some on the side. What does that have to do with anything? Just shows I have balls (or ovaries, gotta be inclusive here). My spouse knows and frankly, can use the rest. (looks at watch) Now, if you will excuse me, I’m meeting someone at the roadhouse.”

I’ve heard someone say: “There is nothing you can say that I can’t misunderstand.” With an attempt to deliberately misunderstand what you wrote, I would say GTL, good job fighting off the advances of other CEOs trying to go out with you. It would have been quite a film for you to have caught a couple of those CEOs making out with each other. .. On a more serious side, do people with certain propensities end up in politically powerful positions or do those who obtain political power end up developing certain propensities? I’m inclined to believe the latter is a bigger factor than the former. Sadly, if true, it would seem it matters not how good a person we vote into power, it matters more how able that person can resist the temptations that come with power after getting it.

Considering the debacle that is the O’bummer administration, and considering the monumental and treasonous Cap-And-Tax bill they are trying to push through Congress, it is not surprising that the liberals want to keep talking about Sanford.

The Kool-Aid was cheap liberals, but what YOUR elected leaders are doing to this country won’t be.

      Joe — I completely agree!

      Mike — Interesting perspective!

FandB — It’s not just the libs who are pounding on Sanford, in fact, that’s about all FoxNews is talking about this morning and the Righty bloggers are making MUCH more noise than the Lefties as far as I can tell…

” it matters more how able that person can resist the temptations that come with power after getting it.”

VERY well said, Mike. At some point the temptation to use that power for personal reasons may get overwelming. Because those temptations WILL be there. Sexual favors, money, land, influence, whatever, the temptations are always there. That is where self control, self discipline, and sense of duty and honor come in.

Personally, as long as the family is taken care of, the spouse knows about it, and it in no way influences political decisions, I have no real problem with extra-marital encounters. As long as you are honest with all concerned, and are willing to deal with any consequences, it should be between those involved (including any spouses that don’t get physically involved) and their version of God. If everyone is cool, have fun.

How do I square this with the teachings of the Church? I don’t try. As I said, what others do is between them and God, or their version of God. It has kept me faithful for neigh on to 20 years. Not untempted, just not taking advantage of the offers (a little cuddleing and kissing, yes, beyond that, no)

Thank you all for the feedback, 5 minutes to clock back into work, then off this weekend for some sun on the beach. My three hundred plus pounds trying no to get caught looking at women a third my weight. My wife and I celebrate 21 years of marriage next month.

Guys, I am a big Sanford supporter who gladly voted for him both times, but I would ask him to resign if I ever met him face to face. I believe we the voters should hold our leaders to higher standards. Is it fair, perhaps not. But if you want to be a leader, high expectations goes with the territory. A real thoughtful article is on the “The
Rightwing Nuthouse.” I really liked this quote:

Benjamin Franklin said, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”

Just because it’s hard to find guys who won’t screw over their families, screw their business partners, prey on young interns, etc. to lead us doesn’t mean we shouldn’t try. A couple of you guys sound like defeatists on the issue. I refuse to settle! So maybe I’m not such a cynic after all?

I wish Sanford would think of his four sons and STFU. I don’t know why he feels the need to confess almost daily to the media but I bet his ten year old is really tired hearing all about his daddy from his playmates. The adultry is for him and his wife to work out. The legal question of Sandford leaving the State without anyone in charge and no way to be reached is what should be under discussion.

And GTL is right, if anything the left is being kinder to Sandford than the right. It is Republicans calling for his resignation not Democrats. But I feel very sorry for his children. They are the innocent by-standers who have been sideswiped by the train in all of this confession and crying to the camera.

I watched Fox on Thursday night for the first time in about three weeks – busy, busy, busy tryin’ to my part to defeat O’bummer by keeping the free market alive – very little to nothing was said about Sanford. ABC and MSNBC were still all over him. I guess it depends on when and where you look.

Gaia, if you really believe the left is being kinder than the right to Sanford, I want some of what you’re smokin’. Maybe that’s the best way to weather the O’bummer Communist take-over of America. Or, maybe, that’s why all the lefties voted for O’bummer in the first place, they were all STONED.

NOW it all makes sense…at least a little more…

FandB, It’s been so long since I’ve been stoned that I don’t remember what it feels like.

Still say it is the Republicans calling for his head not the Democrats.

Also still say that it’s the Sandford children who are being run over by this. As far as I’m concerned Sandford deserves whatever he gets but his children Do Not.
