President Obama’s “Wait And See” Approach To Iranian Prostesters Would Put A Smile On Every One Of Our Founding Fathers’ Faces

Q: Where Is The “Strict Constitutionalist Right” When You Need Them For Their Input On The Iran Protests? A: To The Extreme Opposite Of Our Founding Fathers…

That’s right, SOMEBODY has to say it — President Barack Hussein Obama is getting it exactly correct in the eyes and minds of those who constructed the closest-to-perfect contract in human history — our Founders who risked their lives to frame our Constitution.

On Iran -- GREAT JOB MISTER PRESIDENT -- Now Stay The Separatist Course Of Our Founding Fathers For Other Rogue Nations Please

On Iran -- GREAT JOB MISTER PRESIDENT -- Now Stay The Separatist Course Of Our Founding Fathers For Other Rogue Nations Please

I realize this one’s going to be a bit hard to swallow to the uneducated and ignorant (not a “cut-down” — lack of education and ignorance is curable with a strong dose of Truth), but our Founding Fathers — you know; Thomas Jefferson, George Washington, Ben Franklin and all of the rest of them envisioned the United States of America being a separatist utopia — a shining beacon of Liberty to the rest of the world ONLY by example and NEVER by aiding rebels, guerillas, “freedom fighters” or whatever you would prefer to label our fellow democracy-seeking brothers and sisters around the world. In other words, NEOCONS, they would have abhored and many of them (again, our Founding Fathers) warned and warned us against entering into ANY foreign alliances, conflicts, or what have you.

Yet, the Right is going NUTS over President Obama’s decision to follow the advise and dire warnings of our Founders to remain “neutral” with ALL countries and their internal affairs while insisting they are the party Jefferson, Franklin, Washington and company would be smiling upon in this day and age. WRONG. They’d be more likely to accuse both the G.O.P. and the Democratic Party of being treasonous traitors who should hang from the neck until D-E-A-D to be as “fair and balanced” as this admittedly biased Liberal blogger -slash- columnist can muster.

Robert kagan of The Washington Post, while failing to mention the fact President Obama is acting in exactly the manner prescribed by our Founding Fathers, gets it otherwise exactly RIGHT in today’s Op-Ed piece on the topic:

… It’s not that Obama preferred a victory by Mahmoud Ahmadinejad. He probably would have been happy to do business with Mir Hossein Mousavi, even if there was little reason to believe Mousavi would have pursued a different approach to the nuclear issue. But once Mousavi lost, however fairly or unfairly, Obama objectively had no use for him or his followers. If Obama appears to lend support to the Iranian opposition in any way, he will appear hostile to the regime, which is precisely what he hoped to avoid. …

Well said, Sir. Add the above info -slash- irrefutable Truth to your column and you’d have been 100% on the mark.

Look — I have NOTHING against Israel, our brothers and sisters across the ponds in the United Kingdom or Australia, Canada or any of our other “allies”, so don’t get me wrong on this one. On the other hand, if you think for one MOMENT our Founding Fathers would support these preferable alliances with so-called “friendly nations”, I highly urge you to search for The 5000 Year Leap on Amazon immediately and edjumacate yourselves to the Truth — warning — you may be in for a shocker if you think you’ve got it “right”.

That stated, and again, in the interest of being as “fair and balanced” a self-professed Liberal can be, he’s doing the exact opposite in the North -slash- South Korea and Isreal “crises”. His stance on Iran is admirable and while his neoconservative stances in most other foreign affairs issues with “U.S. Interests” (???) involved are exactly the opposite.

Please, Mr. Obama — Stop reading all of that “Honest Abraham Lincoln” crappola and check out The 5000 Year Leap. For God’s The Creator’s Sake.

  • H/T goes out to MemeOrandum again for the pull
  • Other blogger reactions: The Reaction (Left) seems to fairly well mirror my own opinion; Jules Crittenden (Right) on the other hand, takes the OPPOSITE position of the majority of our Founding Fathers while the apparently “saner” Hot Air (Right also) offers an interesting and newsworthy update while refraining from attacking our POTUS for his actions/inactions on the Iranian election conflict; i.e., Mahmoud Ahmadinejad Vs. Mir Hossein Mousavi debacle…

I can only say that the world is watching Iran, literally. I’ve been following through blogs such as the Dish which is running almost 24 hour a day coverage. Even though the press has been almost completely shut down plenty of videos and pictures have been coming out via cellphone. Now the word is out that the cell towers have been shut down.

The Iranians in the street have asked repeatly that the United States STAY OUT of their fight. I think Obama is walking on a tight rope on this issue and has done quite well keeping his balance.

Of course the neocons hate what he is saying. They hate Obama so what else is new.

Right or wrong has nothing to do with Obama’s staying neutral. He simply has no clue what to do. Thats the JUDGEMENT he made.

It has nothing to do with your obscure reading of the constitution and the intent of the framers.

He simply is a clueless liberal Politician who can give a good speech.

While I agree that we need to, at the moment, let the dust (or somke) settle over there, we also need to keep close watch. And, yes, it is their own business if the government there is shutting down cell/twitter/other communication nodes and centers. Kind of depends on just why the former junior senator from IL is doing (or not doing) whatever it is.

But maybe he shold be ready to take a page from how Mr. Jefferson handled things in that same general area if need be, and do it without worrying about what the rest of the world thinks.

I can agree that staying neutral at this point is a good thing. The phrase:… “no use for him or his followers”…seems coldly pragmatic for anyone who might willingly submit to the stereotype “bleeding heart”. Of course if we are going retro, to the founding of this country, I guess we might want to thank France for not following the founding father’s ideas when it supplied military support for the founding fathers.

“I am deeply concerned about the violent clashes that have erupted in Iran. Based on the limited information available, there is an urgent need for all parties, and in particular the Iranian security forces, to exercise restraint, to demonstrate respect for human rights and to protect civilians from danger. I call on the Iranian government to prevent further escalation of this conflict and to urgently pursue resolution through peaceful means.

Hillary Clinton. Oh wait….this was the text of the original issuance.

“I am deeply concerned about the violent clashes that have erupted in Lhasa, Tibet. Based on the limited information available, there is an urgent need for all parties, and in particular the Chinese security forces, to exercise restraint, to demonstrate respect for human rights and to protect civilians from danger. I call on the Chinese government to prevent further escalation of this conflict and to urgently pursue resolution through peaceful means.

Even Hillary Clinton has the balls to speak up for democracy and restraint in the affairs of other nations. I think this is the kind of statement that the world is waiting to hear from Obama and instead we hear silence as he cowers in the White House pacing the floor like Jimmy Carter asking the Rev. Wright if he really meant “GOD DAMN AMERICA” or if that was hyperbole.

Prime Minister Vladimir Putin on Monday criticized U.S. President Barack Obama’s plan to raise taxes on U.S. companies’ foreign operations, saying it would amount to double taxation that will hurt the global economy.

Meanwhile the president of NO MORE TAXES on 95 percent of Americans continues to find ways to not lie while taxing the sheet out of not only you and me but people overseas.

People when Obama is done with reshaping America we are not going to be able to afford squat but by golly we ALL will have health care. CORPORATIONS DO NOT PAY TAXES………..WE PAY THE TAXES FOR THEM.

This is nothing but wealth redistribution hidden and packaged in forms that will penalize not only the rich but the poor……..and even more so the poor. What then is the point of this?

Acorns stated goal is to bankrupt America and to reshape it into a socialist country….The money trail is being investigated…Im betting it leads all the way to the White House.

I’ll restate that I agree with Obama’s restraint in this situation, I disagree with your premise that the founding father’s were trying to create a Utopia of any kind. They believed (correctly) that people given power have a tendancy to abuse that power and thus with the help of Divine inspiration they came up with a system to divide and limit that power. The mention of “strict constitutionalist” doesn’t seem to be a great fit in that the Constitution itself doesn’t seem to point one way or the other with regards to interactions with other countries other than to say who’s job it is to do that.

On the completely quirky side, I just had a notion of what America really wants in a president, as per the last 3 elections. A simpler name to spell. I mean, what candidate’s name was ever easier to spell than Bush? Gore is about even and we all know how close that was. Bush v.s. Kerry, Obama v.s McKane, I mean McCane, I mean..well Obama, nice and straight forward no double “L” like in Hillery , I mean Hillarie …oh well. :)

Oddly enough, Broke Ubama is probably doing the right thing in keeping mum at this point. Iran is teetering on the brink of civil war. Even the mullahs are not in agreement about what to do with Ahmadinejad. It is best for now for the U.S. to keep out of their internal power squabble.

When this little episode is over, however, the issue of Iranian nukes will still be on the table. Hopefully our Clueless “leader” will find someone smart enough to tell him how to handle that. If not, the probability that Iran will use their nukes is very high. After that happens, our list of options becomes much smaller.

If you want to drive Boxer (Or the Divine Ms Di) crazy, call her “Congresswoman.” Then, when she gets snippy and corrects you, say “Oh! I thought the Senate, per the Constitution, was part of Congress. What amendment changed that?” and listen to her sputter.

I was taught that you use the full title at the start and end of a conversation, and that in between Sir or Ma’am was fine. Sounds like the exalted congresswoman has some self image issues.

The solution is simple, just have ABC,NBC,or CBS have a “Tehran House” infomercial. The Mullahs get their say without dissent, President Obama gets the credit, and the network gets low cost programming. It’s a win/win/win, which the media will spin as way better than just a win/win. The only downside is that we did not amend the constitution to allow Barack Hussein Obama to become President at a more tender age.

No sweeat there, Guns. I don’t think I have been on a flight since about 1990 or so.

Her office was one of three of my reps to tell me that the o, so worthy legislator didn’t want any outside opinions, espceially opposing ones (others were member of the House, and member of the CA Assembly – all Burton Machine botique liberals, by the way). I also had trouble getting timely information from any of my reps (again, all botique lib. dems). I would often call a GOP member of whatever legislative house I needed bill information from, and somehow, before I could get bored, they had the update on the legislation. None of the offices of the dems who supposedly represent me could dig up the information. Strange how those troglodite GOPers could get the info that the progressive dems couldn’t (or wouldn’t.).

I had a pretty regular routine. There are 5 in the legislative branch who represent me – 2 US Senators, 1 member of the House of Representatives, one member of the CA State Senate, and one CA State member of the Assembly. I figured one a day for a call or email, usually email. But on fast moving things – usually anti-gun bills, I would call while on the road. So other than research on issues, and if you keep up to date that doesnt take long, it was only about 5 minutes a day.

I’ve slacked off in the last year or so, maybe a coupel of emails a month. All my reps are out of the Burton Machine, so all toe the line on the hard left agenda of taking away rights from We the People and putting all decison making and power into the hands of an all powerful State. Trying to talk to any of them is like talking to a rock. Or maybe a rotten cantalope. Needed to back off some for my sanity.

Hey, Babs, nice to have one of your staff respond.

      I received:
      Dear Mr. Lovell:

Thank you for contacting me regarding the recent Senate hearing with Brigadier General Michael Walsh. I appreciate hearing from you on this matter.

Shortly after the hearing, I called General Walsh, and we had a friendly and productive conversation. We expressed our respect for one another and our determination to work together to protect our nation and communities from natural disasters.

Thank you again for writing to me. Please feel free to contact me in the future about this or any other issue of concern to you.

      Barbara Boxer
      United States Senator

Which is all well and good. But does NOT excuse your shabby, shoddy, elitist treatment of him during the hearing. You could have sent a note to him, or waited for a break to talk to him. But you chose to make a point that you feel you are so much better than the General, and the rest of us in the great unwashed masses.

“Ma’am” is a title of respect. Even the Queen of England is “Ma”am” in a conversation after the first “Your Royal Majesty.”

Oh, by the way, Babs, Senator is a JOB DESCRIPTION, not a peerage as you seem to think.
We, the people of the State of California, entrusted you with that job to represent us in the upper house of Congress. Thank you SO much for once again tarnishing the image of our great State in the eyes of the nation.

I suppose I should not expect dignity and courtesy from a Burton Machine politician such as yourself.

      Disgusted with your performance,

      Joe Lovell
