Has Sarah “The Barracuda” Palin’s Reactions To Controversial Comedian’s Jokes Removed Any Doubt As To Her Fitness To Lead This Nation In The Capacity Of President In Your Opinion?
Private message to my former Wasilla, Alaska classmate Sarah Palin – LIGHTEN UP, Ma’am. To my former Glennallen classmate (high school sweethearts, indeed) Todd Palin — LIGHTEN UP, Sir. Or, DON’T. It doesn’t matter at this point anyway. Your responses to the jokes about your “fourteen year old daughter” and “A-Rod” (and you KNOW it was really about your “abstinence first” daughter -slash- “abstinence only teacher”, Bristol Palin) has removed any and ALL possibility of a Palin presidency from any clear-thinking, “Left” or “Right” leaning brain. Despite being my former classmates in the Great State of Alaska, you have both combined to remove any doubt at all about whether or not Sarah “The Barracuda” is fit for any high-ranking office, perhaps even the Governorship of Alaska.
David Letterman apologized then he apologized yet again (TV Week dot Com) to the Palins for a joke many of us, including my politically incorrect self found to be funny. I don’t think the man should have even apologized in the first place for his joke, which was clearly met with racuous laughter and I’m damned sure disappointed in the reaction by the Palins. Not because I’m huge political political rival of my former friends from Alaska but there’s a very small part of me who would be proud to see a former classmate from a class of 23 ascend to the highest office in the land despite my numerousd disagreements with Mrs. Palin on an ideological basis.
So much for that. She’s displayed the most “unpresidential” behavior I’ve seen in recent memory from a [previously] legitimate G.O.P. or even Democratic contender I’ve ever seen in response to this Letterman joke. And to think there will STILL be some who’ll be apologizing for HER “unpresidential” reaction is enough to scare the hell out of anybody with a balanced mind.

How wonderful, you know the Palins when you were kids. It seems like that is what defines you now. Does it make you feel you have worth? Guess what, they grew up to be normal people. You on the other hand, became a complete asshole. Oh, as to recent posts, only a liberal clown would possibly think Joan Walsh got the best of Bill O’Reilly the other night. What I saw was a woman squirming to avoid having to answer a simple question, then finally being exposed as someone who is just fine with late term murder under any circumstances at all.
Maybe it is because whats’isname is attempting to justify himself rather than just apologize, Guns.

I’m definitely a free speech kind-of-guy, but I also have young daughter at home. If someone joked like that about my little girl…there would definitely be repercussions. I would call him out and it and make his life miserable (legally of course).

Sorry, GTL but you are dead wrong on this one. Where I grew up (and I suspect where you grew up) you did not call a man’s wife or daughter a slut and expect to just walk away to the sound of laughter.

Oh, there would be the standard riots in the streets..um…peaceful non-violent protests, held with dignity and decorum, calmly and rationally pointing out that it was a vulgar and improper comment. Props and displays pointing out this error would include torched cars, smashed windows, looted stores. All in the name of peace and racial equality, mind.

I don’t think anyone is questioning his rigth to expose his hebephilia to the nation. Just questioning his judgement about how he went about it. He is now facing the consequences of his action, which is as it should be.

Whatever your opinion of her politics or persona, Palin has shown herself to be very adept at manipulating the media and her supporters’ dislike of the same. I was personally sick and tired of this non-story by day two, but red meat for the liberal-media-bias crowd is hard to ignore, even if we *do* have an ongoing national healthcare debate, a Supreme Court nominee to consider, Iranian elections to analyze, and any number of smaller – though equally important – legislative priorities and opportunities currently winding their way through Capitol Hill.

Ah, so if a leftist makes a joke about a conservative, even to the point of joking about statutory rape in a public venue, we are supposed to get over it because we have pressing national problems.

First, I do believe that all of the comments David Letterman made were offensive and un-called for. It showed the public HE has no concience or ethics.
