President Obama To Open Telecommunications And Travel To And From Cuba

Republicans, Predictably: He’s Gone Too Far!!! — Democrats, Predictably: He’s Not Gone Far Enough!!!

Well, well, WELL — President Barack Hussein Obama has kept yet another of his campaign promises (The New York Times): Cubans will soon be able to travel, send money and gifts and communicate by telephone / cellphone with their family members on the island nation. Now, if he’d just learn to keep his campaign promise (Just a friendly reminder to my “Righty” friends who claim I never criticize the man I voted for when he’s absolutely w-r-o-n-g) to slap pending bills onto WhiteHouse.Gov for no less than five days for we “little people” to slice and dice before he signs it into law, we’d be “cool”. Now, back to Cuba…

It’s about time. I join the Congressional Black Caucus, the handful of Democrats and many others with common sense in calling for an even greater relaxation of restrictions on Cuba. Namely, the trade embargo — lift it NOW. It’s been in place more than long enough and it serves no value at all considering it was enacted in 1962 (WikiPedia) to “force” the Fidel Castro regime to promote a democratic form of government in Cuba. Not to mention the fact it’s all “smoke and mirrors” anyway — we DO export to Cuba and we DO import from Cuba, so why keep such an outdated policy in place? It reminds me of our ridiculous DADT (“Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell”) policy in the military — kill it, too, and for the very same reasons I say.

Obama lifts restrictions on Cuba which many Republicans fear will lead to gay married couples joining the military after Obama gets rid of DADT military policy on gays serving openly just so they can go shopping in Havana while on leaveOh no! We CAN’T do that, GTL!“, some would say. “Next thing you know, gay folks will be skipping off to Iowa to get married, then join the U.S. military and then go skipping off to go shopping in Cuba while on leave (And nope, not the Wal-Mart located in Guantanamo Bay; I’m referring to Havana, for the love of God!) and bring a bunch of Cuban gay stuff back to the United States and as a result, neither Fidel OR Raul Castro will step down from power!“, some would warn. Of course, these are all very valid points but on the other hand, perhaps we shouldn’t just jump to so many disasterous conclusions, eh?

Catastrophic thinking isn’t good for anybody, folks — plus we’ve all learned this is typical of Conservatives who have been proven scientifically to frighten quite a bit easier than Liberals in general. Not that this is necessarily a BAD thing — I’m sure there have been plenty of moments in our nation’s history where spooked Republicans have saved lives due to their spiked up adrenaline rushes and sudden high blood pressure, after all. I’m just saying, the law of averages suggests maybe only one or two of those scenarios might develop instead of all of them en-masse…

Just something to THINK about, isn’t it? Think “POZ“.

LMFAO, bro! Everybody beats me to the punch these days while I’m workin’ 60 hours per week. You… you just wait! Once this Google Adsense and direct advertiser money gets into the six figures annually (just a tiny little HUGE two figures shy right now), I’ll be sitting on my butt all day long beating your butt to the punch every day! LMFAO! :-)

Bet I know who is the most upset. All those guys with the money and the mojo to get Havana cigars. Now every guy on the street will be smoking them, including some of those gay guys and that might give them some big ideas.

On the Cuba thing, I am in complete agreement with you, and completely support President Pantywaist.

This will make our invasion soooo much easier. ;-)

I have to post an apology here. It is my policy to always refer to elected officials by their proper title, not silly ad hominem nicknames. I can only blame demon rum for this one time slip up. That, or maybe years of hearing “Bushitler” wore me down. :-)

I’m trying to think of something to say but Its all pointless.

when I see 70 percent of the people in love with Obama the only hope I have is that when they start paying double for everything as we cap and trade tax Americans to death they will all start joining those tea parties and the progressive movement in this country will be exposed for what it truly is.

Until then. I really can’t think of anything to say anymore.

Chuck, “Bushitler” too funny. If it only wasn’t close to the truth!

If you think “Bushitler” is funny and close to the truth, then brother we need a whole new level of O’ BAMAbashing. According to this, dissenting Americans just became a Homeland Security risk:

This reminds me of the one exception to my rule about referring to politicians respectfully. Satan’s whore,AKA Janet Reno was responsible for the single largest murder of US citizens by the government in my lifetime. Coincindentally, she was a DEMOCRAT, killing christian gun owners, oh, and a bunch of defenseless women and children. That last claim is backed up by the Maclennon county coroner that labeled the proximate cause of death for twenty women and children..”blunt trauma caused by tracked vehicles”. Guess tha means that the kind and benevolent Federal government ran over them with armor. I suggest that the leftist commentators bear that in mind when casually tossing about the “Hitler” references. To close, I’ll support trying V.Pres. Cheney the day after Mass Murderer Janet Reno is fried in the electric chair, on Pay per View, per some of my leftist friends suggestions for the former Vice-President.

I dont think its about ODS>

Its about PDS. Progressive Derangement syndrome.

I’m sorry but the progressives whom I believe are the far left of the party are in charge and Obama is nothing more then a puppet in their grand scheme to get all the cool stuff they want at the expense of our nations financial future.

They want it and they want it NOW, because they know once they have it……it wont go away. So they are going to force it down our throats now no matter the cost knowing that we will simply have to find a way to pay for it later on.

Once its a government program……its like cancer…..you cant cut it out. Thats what this is all about.

Chuck…that freakin PDF link you posted is freakin spooky. However, I’m not surprised. I’m not even done with page 1 yet. Jeez!

Personally, I think the whole embargo against Cuba is a stupid thing to continue. It was a stupid thing to keep up after it was shown to be ineffective 40 years, or more, ago. I think it actually helped keep Castro in power.

Flood them with crappy CDs, rappers, and Wal-Marts.

It has become clear that morality, honor, dignity, integrity, principles, and common sense have no place in an Obama administration.

The so-called ‘torture’ that has happened at Guantanamo Bay is NOTHING compared to the atrocities that have occurred, and continue to occur every day, on the rest of the little island ‘paradise’.

Apparently that is acceptable to liberals.
