Glenn Beck Tea Partiers: Burn The Worldly Books! (Major Applause) The Communists Have Taken Over America! Cable Television Boxes Are Tools Of The Government To Spy On Us!
It was called “Project 912 Glenn Beck Tea Party” (LGF) and, of course, it much resembled one of Sarah Palin and her former sidekick, Señor Juan Sidney McCain of Arizona Panama Paŕa Él Presidenté’s famed campaign townhall meetings where people were chanting “Kill him! Kill him! Kill Him!” everytime (now) President Barack Hussein Obama’s name was mentioned. Is this a Republican problem? Yes — but hang on, don’t try to be a mind-reader.
The Republican Party of today is anything but “Conservative” just as the Democratic Party of today is anything but “Liberal”. That’s just my opinion but I’m sticking to it until somebody can convince me differently. Likewise, both parties have the same problem — they are convinced if their so-called “leaders” fail to pander to their furthest Right and Left fringes (respectively) they’ll be going out of “beed-ness”, which is precisely why they ARE going out of “beed-ness” in terms of mass popularity with the American People these days according to nearly every poll out there these days on this particular topic.
And maybe that’s a good thing — I’m “sick up and fed” with this ridiculous, never ONCE mentioned in the Constitution, two-party system cartel. They’re (both of them) nothing but a bunch of Police-Stater and Nanny-Stater (again, respectively), stinking authoritarians whose only real gripe amongst each other over whether or not twelve or thirteen bucks a week is the right amount of money to take from American workers. Ah, but back to Glenn Beck.
One thing I’ve always thought and have rarely been disappointed in is my belief you ARE who hangs out with YOU. And from an intertainment standpoint, that’s a GOOD thing, isn’t it? I confess: I dial into Glenn Beck — the guy’s fairly independent (i.e., isn’t afraid to bash the G.O.P. or talk “third party” possibilities), he’s completely unwound and he’s, well — COMLPETELY NUTS. Admit it — nutcases on television are fun to watch, or reality television wouldn’t be as popular as it is today. I can’t stand the show, but American Idol is a great example — Glenn Beck is William Hung and so are the good folks who stopped in to par-tay with him over a cup-o-tea. And hey, there’s nothing wrong with that either, but please…
Just keep these people as far away from Capitol Hill as possible for God’s Sake.

Greetings Luns. Glen Beck is a libertarian. Not a Republican.
Those people that abandoned the gop for Barak Obama will soon be coming back to the fold. Then again maybe not. As we get all kinds of government handouts Im thinking about switching to the Democratic party too and getting as much LOOT as I can before the country goes bankrupt.
Heres a plan…..Everyone join the Democratic party and stick your hand out…….its the last hand out you’ll be getting from this nation as we go down the tubes and go down quickly.
The end is at hand. Obama and the democrats are going to make sure of that. Stick your hands out. I know I have mine out.
Gimme……Gimme…….Gimme.

This video has nothing to do with tea parties. The April 15th Tax Day Tea Parties are to protest unconstitutional fiscall irresponsible, inflationary Government Spending of our money. It is a non-partisan effort to get our representitives to listen to the people that we want less Government and Lower taxes. Glen Beck is just one supporter. There are many other organizations and Associations who also support this effort.
The protest is about all the spending and lack of adherence to the Constitution by Congress and the Executive Branch.

I still want to see his original birth certificate. He is offering to be friends with Hezzbollah and Hamas. Wants to normalize relations with Iran who wants to nuke Israel while telling us he wants to be Israels protector but only if he can protect Syria, Hezzbollah and Hamas and Iran too.
All this after he tells Turkey America is no longer a Christian nation but rather a nation of the world. I rather suspect he will be offering welfare to Somalians pretty soon.

Terra, are you still living in the 80’s. Dumbass Reagan was WRONG when he cut government spending and it will take a lot more than Obama’s proposing to fix everything he fuc4ed up. Only the wingnuts that still think the GOP has something to offer want less government and lower taxes. There are many things government can do better than the private sector. Socialized medicine would save us money. Of course, we have to get past the Repuglicans who claim that govt doesn’t work, and then when elected screw up horribly and prove their point either because they are really stuupid, incompetent people or because they are rotten to the core, or both.

Fraidy-Bush did more to flush this country down the toilet than any man in history. We could have drafted someone from death row or put a houseplant in office and it would have been better than that thieving, lying, mudering deceiver in chief. I want to see a return to public hangings so we can have a pay per view of Cheney’s. At a hundred bucks a pop times a hundred million viewers or so, we could come up with enough money to repair about one one thousandth of the damage these s4itheads did to America. I don’t know if you noticed, but the Repuglicans have gone from something near authoritarian control of the nation to a whimpering pathetic joke in a just few short years. Maybe if the Party of No could come up with just one or two legitimate ideas they would become relevant again. Maybe if they could admit that they screwed up the whole world in a truly horrible way, and if they could muster the huevos to admit they were wrong about everything except gun rights, and could then apologize sincerely to the world, the nation, and to themselves, for being such a catastrophic failure, then they will be able to stop shrinking in numbers, stabilize, and perhaps even grow into a party that actually helps America, instead of being a dwindling collection of obstructionist and inflammatory nutjobs.
Have a nice day!

The only thing I have to say is that the right wing fringe might want access to an Urban Dictionary. Much snickering has been had over brochures advertising “teabag parties” and NOM’s recent “2M4M” movement.

I agree we should execute all conservatives. We should eliminate the GOP and make it illegal to be anything except a democrat. We should socialize all programs and make working for a living illegal.
Everyone knows that those conservatives are nothing but Hitler loving, gun toting, war mongering, unpatriotic rich people who got their money from the sweat of illegal immigrants backs.
This country only needs one party. One philosophy and no religion. Then we can all get along because we all have the same plain roll of toilet paper.
Amen brother. Lets return to pay per view hangings of all those conservatives and republicans who dare to have a view thats opposed to yours.
5:56 pm on April 11th, 2009 8
Actually, I think this country needs at least three and perhaps as many as seven or eight parties. I’d like to be a lifelong member of the KEG PARTY!
We should execute war criminals whether they are conservative, liberal, or worse yet, apathetic. I have more respect for someone who cares deeply about things but has arrived at different conclusions than for those who don’t give a fuc4. Bush and Cheney committed many different high crimes and misdemeanors that they could be executed for. It is truly despicable that we have allowed Spain to take the lead on this.
It looks to me as if the Republicans are doing a spectacular job of eliminating the GOP all by themselves. I’m sure Larry Craig is exited to hear about the 2M4M Teabagging parties being arranged.
Socialism is not a bad word. Sure, the rich can get exceptional medical care in this country, but my relatives in both Canada and in the U.K. wonder why the hell I’m still in America (I was born in Canada). They won’t even travel here anymore because our medical system is such a horrible fiasco. I believe that we are the only one of 27 modern industrial nation that does not provide medical care as a right and you know where we stand on that list as far as the quality of care the average person receives. 27th. Our emergency services are some of the best in the world, however, primarily because the average person puts off medical care until they are rolled into the ER on a stretcher.
I’m a gun totin’ backwoods mountain man that does not fit a stereotype although most of my views are liberal. I’m certainly not afraid to fight, if it’s called for, but this BS war in Iraq was started on false premises so Halliburton, Exxon, Blackwater and General Dynamics could make billions in profiteering, and has been a catastrophic failure as far as the wellbeing of America goes.
I think you should be able to buy any brand of toilet paper you want so long as it is made from recycled paper.
By the way, I really do wish you well in all that you do. I do not want you to fail as so many righties have expressed about our duly elected leader. When, on occasion, conservatives are actually capable of defending themselves in a reality based conversation, I readily concede their points. It’s just such a rarity though.

I do not care if you are a democrat or a Republican. When someone says….
“I want to see a return to public hangings so we can have a pay per view of Cheney’s.”
I usually consider the chance at having a rational conversation is about nil.
8:35 pm on April 11th, 2009 10
They are criminals of the highest order who deserve the death penalty no more or less than Saddam Hussein did.
If the state is going to have the right to execute people it should be done in public.
These are both quite reasonable assertions.
You may disagree vehemently but to suggest they are not within the realm of rational discussion is, as Spock would say, highly irrational.
9:23 pm on April 11th, 2009 11
OK, OK, Spock would have said that is highly illogical. Still true.

You have tried and convicted Cheney without a trial. The left has become the judge, jury and now it seems they want the executioners role.
11:08 pm on April 11th, 2009 13
What do you think would happen if he were subject to a fair trial?

George Washington was against political parties because of the partisanship they would cause. He was right. In Eisenhower’s farewell address to the nation he warned us to beware of the military-industrial complex. He was right.
I do not believe that there are many classical conservatives left in the Repug party; they have been deserting the sinking ship for several years.
The people left in the party who call themselves the only true conservatives need to look at the orgins of modern day conservatism and what a conservative actually believes. The Republican party is now a party of TRUE BELIEVERS. They believe that only they should be allowed to run the government, that they have the only true religion. that they have the only TRUE moral compass and that everyone else is out to get them. Of course they might be right in that last belief.
But then I don’t think much of the Democratic Party either. The Democratic politicans take payloa from the same sources that the Republican po;iticans do; from the huge lobbyist firms fronting for big corporate America. The military-industrial complex that Eisenhower warned us about.
When Rome wanted to keep the populace dumb and happy, the governement gave them free circuses. When D.C. wants to keep us dumb and happy they give us Glen and Limbaugh and Hannity and Oberson and Stewart and Colbert. Do not ever let the populace think about the real issues that are changing their lives. Wait, I take that back about Steward, he has been asking some pretty awarkward questions lately.
So I agree, if we have to have political parties, then the more the merrier. And if the TRUE BELIVERS get any louder and any shriller and even more off the deep end, they’ll still more people out of the Repug party.
FraidyKatt, were you this afraid under the Bush adminstration, or were you cozy and warm?

Together they’re the global warfare and corporate welfare state party.

Interesting points made by all. Allow me a few comments where I strip y’all’s words out of context to set up ridiculous straw man arguments to make mine sound more reasonable. Wait a minute…damn…turns out that’s the President’s chosen style. Guess I’ll just have to wing this one.
GTL said “One thing I’ve always thought and have rarely been disappointed in is my belief you ARE who hangs out with YOU.”
Sage commentary, providing that it includes our intertubes friends. I say that because, at least in my own case, I find Democratic leaning folks nonexistant in my day-to-day life. To be fair, I find diehard Republicans to be only slightly less scarce. My world seems to be composed of libertarians, ranging from the rabid big “L” types to the rather apathetic “just want to be left alone” branch. The intertubes is the only convenient place to go to find someone that craves more government,be it from the left or right.
The “Tea Bag Parties” (and yes ‘Bama, I thought the same thing when I head the name)and their cousins like the “Code Pink” demonstrations of our recent past, shine a bright light on the coming wreck at the end of our national tunnel. Dissenting opinion is increasingly cast evil and “unpatriotic”. Otherwise sane people talk of executing the leaders and punishing the members, the only commonality being the tool used, the federal government. If this continues, we will see hell’s version of musical chairs, and woe be unto to the political party and it’s supporters out of power when the music stops.
Gaia asked the question:
” FraidyKatt, were you this afraid under the Bush adminstration, or were you cozy and warm?
An excellent question, and whle I cannot answer for the ‘Katt, I can honestly say no. The problem is that I should have been, at least in regards to ballooning spending and expansion of government. Us true conservatives should have organizing to object to the police state power expansion, but we didn’t and it’s to our shame, especially now looking down the barrel of that gun. If the left is as thoughtful and correct and they so often and insufferably claim (insert appropriate smartass smiley here), they would do well to heed our lesson.

FraidyKatt, were you this afraid under the Bush adminstration, or were you cozy and warm?
Good question. When Bush gave his Axis of evil speech and declared a new first strke policy I was flabberghasted. Surely he doesn’t mean this.
Yeah he did. I was opposed not only to Iraq but Afghanistan as well. I feel that you do not invade a country to kill a couple 100 terrorists. I believe 911 was horrible but the reaction was even worse. I believe we should be out of Afghanistan and Iraq in 2002. Not still there in 2010.
Now to answer your question directly. I kept my eyes wide open. The NSA wiretaps might have been illegal but the fact was that It was reported and glossed over that high level DEMOCRATS were well informed of the goings on and Tenet in his book even wrote that the Democrats were regularly invited into the inner workings to oversee this process and nary a peep from them.
Bush is not the enemy. Obama is not the enemy. If your looking for an enemy then you have no farther to look then a movement. “Progressives” and “Conservatives”. They are the enemy because they preach a doctrine and they are inflexible.
Both the democrats and the republicans are obsolete in todays world. The problem is that the Democrats have learned how to use the internet as their smear merchant to sell themselves at the expense of their idealogical opposites.
Thats my fear. A movement. Not a man.
5:32 pm on April 13th, 2009 19
Well said ‘Katt…well said
10:23 pm on April 13th, 2009 20
I agree; Katt that was well said. I will admit that I haven’t felt comfortable under any president for a long, long time. I don’t remember who said this but I believe it to be true, “The thing to remember about any politican is that the main thing they are worried about after election is how to be reelected”.
Also believe that the Democrats are almost as willing to take my rights away as the Republicans. My friendships and relatives do have a wide rage, from bleeding heart liberals to liberal to conservative to right wing to nutters on the fringes. And a couple of pure hearted Libertarians. But we all have things in common which all boil down to basically wanting a decent life.
My biggest wish, is how to we get our government back? I think Obama has at least pointed the way. As yet the internet is uncensored in the United States. “They” may be reading us but they haven’t been able to stop us. Citizens seem to be building our own villages. We will know if we are starting to loosen the hold of lobbyists if all of a sudden the net is censored.
Katt, I refer you to the movie THE SHOOTER. In it a sitting United States Senator tells the hero, “That there are no Democrats. There are no Republicans. There are only the haves and the have nots”. And as Warren Buffet said not too many months ago, the haves are winning. It’s us the little guys who are bailing out the big guys.

Better gear up for the Obama-nation then amigo. Sen. J. Rockefeller, DEMOCRAT W.V. has submitted Senate Bills 773 and 778 as part of the Cybersecurity Act of 2009. This is in effect the Patriot Act for the internet. All the goodies, like spying on individuals, accessing secure information , etc. Darn good thing the Republic has these stout Democratic politicians looking out for us. I’m confident that all of the Lefty bloggers will march in lockstep to protest this.

Chuck, I looked up the bills and got the full bill and I’m giving you links to them. Sorry you have to copy and paste but I haven’t figured out the right way to post a link without messing up Guns code. ie I don’t have a 3rd grader to help me.
The first link is to Bill 773 even though it doesn’t seem to be mentioned in the link.
