“Just Don’t Leave U.S. Soil And You’ll Be Okay” Say Legal Experts To Yoo, Gonzales, And Others Under Spain’s Microscope For Their “Creative” Works In Guantanamo Bay

Will Dog The Bounty Hunter be going after Alberto Gonzales John Yoo and other Bush Administration officials next as Spain seeks to imprison them for war crimes in Guantanamo Bay
“Mr. Yoo…” Alberto “Will Now Work For Food” Gonzales began. “… roll up those shirt sleeves of yours and find a way to make it all ‘legal’ sounding; know what I mean?“, he winked. John Yoo winked back and said, “Yessir!” while Mr. Cheney kept nodding and making funny noises and former President Bush drooled on his red power tie. “Yer doin’ a fine job there, Gonzee.”, he said as he mopped off his wet chin with the back of the arm of his suit. “A DAMNED fine job, and you too, Yooey!”
A few years later and one dictator removed, here comes Spain’s Baltasar Garzón (New York Times), the crusading investigative judge who specializes in these matters for the Spanish court system. He says the time has come to indict, try and issue arrest warrants for these misguided patriots scumbags. “Don’t leave home“, United States experts are advising their misguided patriots scumbag buddies. “They can’t arrest you on U.S. soil and we’re not likely to honor any requests from Spain to have you guys extradited… we think, at least.”
Wow. The problems just keep on mounting for all of these guys, but especially for the DISGRACED former Bush Attorney General, who was just recently indicted in the Great State of Texas along with his, and former President Bush’s boss, Dick “Shotgun” Cheney for abusing domestic prisoners; i.e., incarcerated United States Citizens, for personal and financial gain.
Talk about being “pinned down” in the case of Mr. Gonzales — if found guilty in the latter case, he can’t even THINK about leaving the country or “Dog” or some other bounty hunter is sure to chase him down and deliver him to the Spaniards. It must be tough living a life on the lamb, unemployed, and hey — where are the “friends” when you need ‘em?
And, will I be weeping? Take a wild guess, folks.

A quick roundup of “Must Reads” (according to MOI — and again, YEP — part French and unapologetic for it):
“… Washington invoked the same right to prosecute foreign leaders for torture last year…”
“… I believe that the last eight years the response to that would be: “If you haven’t done anything wrong, you don’t have anything to hide.” …
“… Unfortunately with a president who is about as American as your average UN delegate from some bankrupt island country you’ve never heard of, it’s hard to say how it works out. …”

“Electrode Al” Gonzales is guilty of laws on the books in Texas. That is, of course, if Texas would actually enforce laws on someone other than the “little people.”

Yep. You know what they say, bro — “Wish in one hand and defecate in the other and just see which one fills up the fastest.”
All of these people deserve to serve hard time for their crimes against both The People and those people :-/

I think that an investigation is clearly in order. This is why I support Senator Leahy’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission.
The fact that we (as recently as last year) sentenced individuals to prison for torture indicates that we need to police ourselves, or at least allow ourselves to be policed, if we have any hope of ever regaining the moral high ground.

Perhaps we can attack Spain Next.

Who cares if we have the moral high ground? Why is that important? What does it get us?
We want to legalize drugs. Declare god dead. Drink and drive drunk. Booze it up. What makes America so moral?
There is nothing special about America other then we are like a virus eating our way thru the earths resources and destroying everything in site. There is nothing special about us. We are not a moral people. We kill, murder, beat our kids. Rape our children. Have more guns then any nation on earth and proclaim we should not watch porno while we all watch it behind closed doors.
We go to church on Sunday and then the next 6 days shout at our political opponents angrily.
Moral high ground? Are you kidding?
America is fast becoming one of the least moral nations on earth. There is no moral high ground in America anymore. There hasnt been since the 60’s and the “Peace and love” movement.

It’s sad that we’re letting another country do our work for us. It’s even sadder that there is still a large percentage of our population who believe that torture gained information that keep us safe and that Saddam had a hand in 9/11. Then there are the ones who say that we shouldn’t treat the terrorists any better than they treated us. But what is the saddest is that lying about consensual sex was considered grounds for impeachment but lying about torture…why that was keeping our country safe. I can see now why Cheny never did divulge where his hideout was; he knew this could be coming.

America is the most bankrupt and destitute nation on earth. As FraidyKatt points out this country is and has become all about Moral equivalency while leaving morality to take a back seat to expediency.
Morality is subjective and claiming we need the moral high ground to kill those that kill us is ludicrous. Spain wants to try our people for waterboarding terrorists. I say go ahead. Let them try them all. Lets arrest GWB and Dick Cheney and extradite them to Spain where they have the guts to stand against the mighty (scoff) USA.
We are a pathetic nation of weasels. We are gluttons and degenerates who shout a good argument and then return to our debased life while we stuff food and booze and drink down our fat throats and we rape the planet of fossil fuels and we raze the planet of its natural resources so that we can have every little luxury that we can.
I have to agree. Moral high ground? Ours is a “superior intellect”.
Ha ha ha. America is begging to fail.

Go ahead and put on a sham trial. There was no torture at Guantanamo Bay. All the misinformed little peons can cry all they want about how terribly we treated terrorists who killed thousands of Americans. It doesn’t matter, we never used torture.
Let the trials commence.
When they’re done, they can go after the teenager down the street who plays his music too loud, too late at night. I’m telling ya, rap music alone is torture, but when it’s played loud and late at night it is also causing sleep deprivation – more torture.
And, y’know, it’s torture having to listen to all the liberal whiners. They should all be put on trial for torture.
And it is truly torturous having to put up with a segment of the population who espouses Abortion. Anyone who condones or participates in the abortion of a baby should be put on trial for torture.
This could go on and on, anything we don’t like could be defined by some as torture. After Obama’s term is over, I’m sure we will find a number of things he did that will be deemed as ‘torture’ by some. So off he goes to ‘fill-in-the-blank’-land to stand trial for torture, murder, etc. The cycle will never end.
I guess it depends on who is “in control” of the definition of torture. The way it is defined today will be different tomorrow.
America is actually the most moral nation on Earth.
We have done more to help people globally than any other nation on earth.
The majority of people in the U.S. do not live morally bankrupt lives. Most do not engage in the behavior that previous commenters have described. I’m sure there are pockets of this type of behavior, but realize that your own personal little world does not define the rest of the country or the other citizens of the U.S.
So go ahead, bring on the trials. In eight years we’ll go after Obama and his cronies for crimes against humanity, treason, war crimes, whatever it takes.

I like the “invade Spain” idea. Sounds like fun, and if we end up becoming an empire, we get really sexy men with equally sexy accents.
Also, I’d like to know what your problem is with porn? It’s a legitimate business. Without porn, I wouldn’t get great ideas to try at home with my husband… Okay, maybe that one passed the TMI threshhold, but GTL started it with his poop-in-the-hand comment.
And let’s not romanticize the 60s or the 50s or any other decade for that matter. Folks were just as bad then as they are now. The same crap happened, and folks were just less honest abou it. We just keep inventing new and improved forms of shock value. Hell, even the Puritans had witch roasts and abortion.
“Anyone who condones or participates in the abortion of a baby should be put on trial for torture. ”
Wow! That was a very final statement… Are you saying that under any circumstances, including tubal pregnancies? How about situations where the infant would die within days and be in excruciating pain due to a genetic disorder that was detected during pregnancy? Or in the case of multiple births where the abortion of one baby is necessary to save the life/lives of the others? Oh, and what responsibility do we have to unwanted children when we force them to be born? Do we then support an increase in government care for these children and the increase in taxes that would be necessary to do so? Something doesn’t jibe, here…
Also keep in mind that outlawing abortion doesn’t make it quit happening. If a preacher is going to force his daughter to have an abortion for the sake of keeping his public image intact, then shouldn’t we be sure that the daughter has the best medical care available rather than risking her life as well?
I’m not a supporter of abortion, but I am a realist. I don’t believe it to be a clear black and white issue.
Just to be clear, torture is clearly defined under international law. I believe that would be the definition that they’re using, here.

While Spanish law may let them make stupid accusations, their lack of backbone does not allow them to enforce anything. Just ask the Muslim terrorists that have them cowering. If they feel so Frenchy, let them come to the U.S. and get the defendants. We are not afraid here. We will fight you!!!!

A/M — LMFAO @ the TMI comment!!!
FandB —
“… When they’re done, they can go after the teenager down the street who plays his music too loud, too late at night. I’m telling ya, rap music alone is torture, but when it’s played loud and late at night it is also causing sleep deprivation – more torture. …”
At LAST!!! Another small item my good far-right friend and I agree 100% on!

A/M – “what responsibility do we have to unwanted children when we force them to be born?” – I’ve never known anyone who really regretted being born.
“outlawing abortion doesn’t make it quit happening” – Outlawing other forms of murder doesn’t make them quit happening either, but that is not a good reason to legalize them.
It is interesting that the argument you make for abortion parallels the logic of the Bush Administration’s argument that water boarding is not torture. The biggest difference is that, at the end of the procedure, in the case of water boarding you have a live and unharmed adult, but in the case of abortion you have a dead baby.

My ISP was acting weird, so it took me a while to respond. F&B, I wish you’d do more than selective reading, because you seem to only be reading part of my statement while the rest of it would answer the rest of your response, so I’ll answer in part by quoting myself.
“A/M – “what responsibility do we have to unwanted children when we force them to be born?” – I’ve never known anyone who really regretted being born.”
The rest of my quote stated:
“Do we then support an increase in government care for these children and the increase in taxes that would be necessary to do so?” In other words, if their parents can’t support paying for their upbringing and medical care, do you support government funded medical care up to age 18 (when they can work to supply their own)? Or are you only concerned with the care of that person BEFORE they’re born?
“‘outlawing abortion doesn’t make it quit happening’ – Outlawing other forms of murder doesn’t make them quit happening either, but that is not a good reason to legalize them.”
The rest of my comment said, “If a preacher is going to force his daughter to have an abortion for the sake of keeping his public image intact, then shouldn’t we be sure that the daughter has the best medical care available rather than risking her life as well?” The last I checked, minors cannot make their own medical decisions. There have been many such cases of parents forcing their children to have abortions– particularly those in prominent positions like politics and religious leadership– in order to save face. Some of them were raped by their fathers. Basically, what I’m stating is that you CAN have two victims in a situation– not just one. Again, it’s not a black and white issue.
“It is interesting that the argument you make for abortion parallels the logic of the Bush Administration’s argument that water boarding is not torture. The biggest difference is that, at the end of the procedure, in the case of water boarding you have a live and unharmed adult, but in the case of abortion you have a dead baby.”
I’ve yet to find your logic in this very argument. At what point in time did the Bush Administration ever suggest that we should consider torture because people who didn’t support torture didn’t want them to be locked up for life? At what point did the Bush Administration make the argument that we should support torture because the person administering the torture could be a victim as well? And as for “an alive an unharmed adult…” Why don’t you take a look at some psychological profiles for soldiers who were tortured in Vietnam or other wars and say that they were unharmed? That has to be the WORST logic parallel I’ve ever seen anyone try to make.
