Nationwide Study: Online Adult Entertainment Business Would Crumble Were It Not For The Religious Right

guess who views the most pornography red state relious right freaks1 Nationwide Study: Online Adult Entertainment Business Would Crumble Were It Not For The Religious Right“I Think I Know What You Did Last Night” — Part II

Am I shocked at the fact the online “boo-tay bidness” is alive and well thanks in large part to those who continuously go out of their way to try and ban it, criminalize it, publicly condemn it and constantly criticize those who work in the field and the customers who drool at the chance to view it? Of course I am. NOT. It’s always those who holler the loudest who are the ones you’d better watch your back around. The “redder” the state, the hotter things get behind those closed, “red state” doors it seems.

Jessica’s Law? Wouldn’t even exist were it not for disgraced Republican “Uncle Pervie”, Former Congressman Mark Foley’s dedication to protecting innocent young kids from people just like himself. And who can forget former leader of the Evangelical Association, the disgraced Reverend Ted “I know what you did last night!” Haggard. While he was trying to save the word from “gayness”, he had a bunch of boyfriends on the side it turns out. Then we’ve got “toe-tapping” Republican Senator Larry Craig and a whole host of other examples of hypocrites throughout history who publicly despise and fight that which they are. Right or wrong, it’s gotten to the point with me to where if I see somebody taking collections from a charity to help educate children on how to stay away from and deal with predators, I’m almost convinced I’m looking at a predator — an understandable reaction I believe.

Now we have a new Harvard study, courtesy of New Scientist, which just goes to show us Utah (yep, THAT “Utah”) is the country’s most pornography starved state in the union, but according to that same report, there IS less traffic on Sundays after they’ve been “churched up” a bit for the day. The always brilliant Andrew Sullivan, whom, by the way, is a Christian himself, refers to these people as “The Christianists” and I don’t believe one has to think too hard to understand why he’s coined (I’m assuming) such a phrase for these Police Staters who wish only to police others but not themselves. Hmm. Go figure.

Allow me to share a must read “snip”:

“… Residents of 27 states that passed laws banning gay marriages boasted 11% more porn subscribers than states that don’t explicitly restrict gay marriage.

To get a better handle on other associations between social attitudes and pornography consumption, Edelman melded his data with a previous study on public attitudes toward religion.

States where a majority of residents agreed with the statement “I have old-fashioned values about family and marriage,” bought 3.6 more subscriptions per thousand people than states where a majority disagreed. A similar difference emerged for the statement “AIDS might be God’s punishment for immoral sexual behaviour.” …

Wow. Can you believe it? Are you starting to form any mental pictures in your brain of just whom these people really ARE deep down inside? Scary knowing half or more of the seats in both chambers of Congress are occupied by THESE people, isn’t it?

Of course, realise this column is being written by one of those “If it occurs between any number of consenting adults in privacy, it ain’t a crime” sorts of “devil Libs”. Those of you who disagree might wish to take my (not-so) humble opinion for what it’s worth.

One of the things that I learned when I was a young woman that when a man approached me and told me right up front, right in my face, what a good Christian he was, a God fearing man; that I needed to grab two things, my wallet and my crotch, cause he sure as hell was going to try to get in one of them or both.

A truly good Christian does not advertise, they live their lives as Christians. So it does not surprise me that the more pious the State the higher per capita of porn.

      What a silly post.

I would conclude that Red States simply have more repressed Horny democrats then the typical state that did not pass gay or porn laws which are predominantly Democratic.

LOL, kind of like clean shaven men – what are they trying to hide!

Lo these many years ago (like three decades)someone tried to open, did open, an adult bookstore in the town I lived in. Low key, nondescript place. Until the next day when one of the women on the city council went to the papers and the sidewalk about it. We were such a sleepy little place that we wouldn’t have know about it if she hadn’t given it so much free advertizing. I even mentioned that to her – “Gee, people might think that you were his partner since most of us wouldn’t have know it was here if not for you.” For some reason she didn’t think that was funny. Demanded to know who told me that. All I told her was to look at the situation, no one knew about it until she drew attention to it, but here she was making sure it was on the front page every day for weeks. People went to Oceanside for their porn. Now those sales tax dollars would stay in our town. She still failed to see the humor. The store closed after only a month or so. Not so much because of the protests, but because even by the standards of the day what he carried wasn’t very good.

Bigotry against Christians has become quite trendy among Left Wingers. This bigotry, it seems, has replaced racial bigotry for many of them. The Party of Hate must find people to hate, for evils real or imagined.

The principles on which our country was founded are abandoned. Abandonment justified by lies, exaggerations, and innuendo. As our Founding Father George Washington said; “Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. … reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”

Arguments may be fabricated to the contrary, but it has consistently been the Left that has fomented the destruction of Morality in this country.

    • springerfan

Fandb, The GOP isn’t the alternative..in fact, the far right GOP are more f*cked up then what you just described in your mind.

    • springerfan

By the way…the GOP aka “the party of lovely Christians”, just got done cursing out George Bush at CPAC…you saw that? You really think Michael Steele will turn things around?

    • Fandb

I know the Left is incapable of turning things around.

The left has abandoned the basic principles of the Founding Fathers.

    • springerfan

Turning things around after George Bush? You might be right…no pun intended.

    • springerfan

In fact, the founding fathers would’ve frown upon George Bush acting like a Dictator while they trying to learn email and fax machines.

    • springerfan

      “while trying”

    • Fandb

If you can’t dazzle ‘em with brilliance, baffle ‘em with bullshit, eh Springer?

Not just the principles of the Founding Fathers, but also the principles and practices that made this country great.

    • springerfan

Nope. Actually the only bullshit that smells other than your anti-christ obama horns sitting on your forehead, is the GOP bullshit being promoted that the founding fathers would frown on. If in fact, the dems fail, the GOP party is currently empty with no alternative….Boby Jindal, Michael Steel, John Mccain, Sarah Palin, Michelle Bachman or Rush Limbaugh for President might be ticket…can’t wait!….I’m sure I missed someone….Empty and meaningless GOP Bullshit…but Entertaining nonetheless.

Michelle Bachman and Sarah Palin for 2012. PLEASE! lol

    • Fandb

Springer, you’re living too much of your life inside your own mind. Too many groundless and false allegations to count in the last few posts. You’re generalizing about the GOP again, but again are incapable of supporting your position or argument. Of course, that is one of the side effects of too much pot.

In general, I would be in favor of legalization, as long as the short and long term cognitive effects, as well as the potential for seizures and cancer, are communicated properly. The biggest problem with that is the obvious disruption in pot users’ ability to form coherent thoughts.

      Have a nice weekend.

FandB..Show me where marijuana STATISTICALLY is worse than beer and cigarettes please…especially when it comes to fatalities caused by health problems and car accidents…you can’t.

Alcohol is bad…cigarettes are bad….Marijuana has actually cured or helped people with certain diseases; AND taking A LOT of it has known to produce negative effects also.

Now..if Alcohol is bad and cigarettes are bad then there isn’t a reason not to legalize marijuana and tax it…either that or just make cigarettes and alcohol illegal because all 3 are bad and unhealthy at a certain point.

Fandb, for you believe that Obama has majical horns poking out of his forehead, only to be covered up with majic makeup to conceal him being the anti-christ…talk about someone being kooky and living in their own mind!…well, based on that belief, I thought you’d be a strong advocate of pot smoking lol…or maybe LCD…who knows…anyways….but hey, as long as your twisted Obama Anti-Christ reality makes sense to you in your own mind then it’s all good bro…your entitled to all that non-sense.

All 3 stimulants/depressants are bad “at some point”…legalize all 3 or none at all. Heck…maybe if all the world leaders “took a hit” maybe we’d have some PEACE in the world by now. Obviously, liquor and cigarettes can’t achieve it!

    • Fandb

I’ll let you off the hook on this one Springer, since you clearly didn’t read my post. It’s probably that whole attention span thing.

Lately it seems that Obama is far too stupid to be the antichrist. Sadly, he’s more like just another Jimmy Carter. But I still like my gravatar!

    • springerfan

      hahaha…nice return!…allright…heck it’s sunday..why not :)

    • Papamoka

I think that my brother GTL and I have been pointing at the facts behind this very issue for years now. The GOP is the party of “Do as I say and not as I do” as one after another is caught up in some kind of sex scandal. It’s a documented fact in all the news across America on the holier than thou folks on the political right that have succumbed to the sin of the flesh.

      Great post bro!

    • Fandb

“Sins of the flesh” are wholly unrelated to religious affiliation and are spread uniformly across the spectrum of people regardless of race, creed, color, or political or religious beliefs.

Of course the MSM primarily reports political affiliations for the instances that involve republicans, for obvious reasons.

For example, most of the instances involving Teachers and their students are reported but the political affiliations are not reported. Most of the “teachers” in these cases have been registered democrats, but you’d never know that from the MSM reports.

My greatest concern is that these occurrences, that involve very small percentages of people from the right or the left, are used in an attempt to discredit religion as a whole.

My concern is based on the wisdom of the Founding Fathers regarding the importance of religion to the Morality of our country. As I mentioned above: “George Washington said; “Of all the dispositions and habits, which lead to political prosperity, Religion and Morality are indispensable supports. … reason and experience both forbid us to expect, that national morality can prevail in exclusion of religious principle.”
