Mr. Burris Goes To Washington — Because He At Least TRIED To Raise Money For Disgraced Former Governor Rod Blagojevich (Source: Chicago Tribune)

“But, GTL — whatchya doin’ goin’ after crooked Democrats?“, one might ask. “Aren’t you a liberal?” Indeed, but I’m an independent liberal and I’m not a hypocrite.
Wait, hold up. Yeah, I guess I am a hypocrite sometimes but not when it comes to the topic of calling out a crook regardless of his or her political party when that crook has been entrusted by his or her constituents to ethically fight for their interests while holding public office on their behalves.
Yes, I do realize Mr. Burris was “appointed” by The Cabbage Patch Kid to former senator and current President Barack H. Obama’s abandoned seat but that’s what the great State Of Illinois’ constitution called for and it is officially recognized and endorsed by the People of the state by proxy if nothing else.
Not to mention the fact I’m not the ONLY liberal blogger who is hoping to see Mr. Burris pay the price for his crime of lying under oath about his participation in The Cabbage Patch Kid’s Pay-To-Play scandal either for those who believe we all toe the “party line” no matter what. Okay, wait — that’s true for the most part in the Blogospheres when it comes to liberal bloggers but this seems to be an isolated case for whatever reason.
Anyhow, dear readers — I say just drop the purjury charges and indict Senator Burris for attempted murder. If you happened to click on that link above, you will have learned why I say he is an attempted murderer who is free and on the loose and why he should spend the rest of his days in the Crossbar Hotel with a “bi-curious”, dominant cellmate by the name of “Bubba”. Click here if you’re not in the mood to scroll up. Consider it a “Public Service” on behalf of GTL Media and THIS blogger.
Buh-bye, Mr. Burris. You are the weakest link, sir.

SHOCKINGLY ENOUGH — Even some bloggers from the “right” seem to largely agree with we “lefties” on this issue, including: Hot Air’s Ed Morrissey; Political Byline’s Paleo Pat; Patterico’s Pontifications

And no matter what gets turned up he will keep his seat in the US Senate. I hope he likes his stay in Chicago D.C.

Its the dems fault for being lilly-livered and seating him in the first place. I smelled the snake oil the moment in stepped up to the mic, salivating for that seat, mumbling, “Me wants it, the precious!”
And I’m no political guru. The fact that they let him and Blago get away with that obvious ploy makes me wonder how many other senators clearly don’t deserve to be there.

I would say at least 98 of them.

what is really sad is that there is no citizen recall process in our Constitution. Burris wouldn’t be in office three more days if there were. Or if Joe is right there might not be any left.
Maybe Burris should change his name to Xe.

I’ll tell ya, I wouldn’t mind seeing 100 vacant seats in the Senate and 435 in the House and getting a fresh start with no professional politicians.

Wasn’t it George Washington who warned us about political parties? And it was another General/President who warned us about the military/industrial complex. I’m with you on this one, Joe. I think we would be bewtter off if we drew names out of a hat.
And a A+ to you, GTL, on your photo shop.

Just a distraction from the real problems permeating Washington. Burris is an also-ran, a meaningless political lightweight.
Gaia mentioned George Washington… I’ll throw in another plug for him too – if you haven’t read George Washington’s Farewell Address before (or lately) it is worth the read. The man was quite enlightened in terms of what it would take to keep our republic alive. Your mental image of Washington the Statesman could be changed forever.
