From Governor To Regular U.S. Citizen — Long, Boring, Self-Incriminating Speech Fails To Change The Minds Of The Illinois Senate Who Votes 59-0 For Removal From Office For Rod “Former Governor” Blagojevich…
Ladies and Gentlemen, our “Cabbage Patch Kid” from Illinois is now an officially unemployed multiple felony suspect. On the other hand, I wonder why I should even call this guy a “suspect” any longer when he admitted to committing felonies on national television and before the Illinois Senate? “Those four tapes speak for themselves”, he said. “We’re all politicians here and we all know you do what you’ve gotta do to get re-elected” (paraphrased). “Buh-bye”, said the Illinois Senate just moments ago (New York Times). This guy reminds me of a former (through marriage) cousin of mine who got his butt busted for trafficking endangered turtles awhile back. “Don’t talk to anybody”, urged the man’s lawyer, and what does he do? He goes out an holds a press conference proclaiming he was simply the innocent victim of entrapment caused by overzealous federal investigators, hungry for a conviction, set him up. OOPS. Let’s just say the strategy didn’t work out very well for him. “Guilty”, said the judge as he pounded his gavel the next day. This guy also reminds me of another guy by the name of Richard M. Nixon who once said “When the President does it, that means that it’s not illegal.” (BrainyQuote.Com)
What now for Governor The Cabbage Patch Kid? Will he just be a-ridin’ away into that proverbial “sunset”? Again, let us turn to the NYT for our answer…
“… Mr. Blagojevich still faces federal criminal charges in a wide-ranging corruption case that, among other things, accuses him of trying to sell President Obama’s former United States Senate seat to the highest bidder. …”
So, last but not least, now that we have audio and video of The Cabbage Patch Kid admitting that was him on those four tapes and they are what they are, leaving no reason for a prolonged trial at this point, what should we expect for Blago’s future? Will he see a day behind bars or will new Illinois governor, former lieutenant governor, Pat Quinn, pardon him once he has been found guilty “officially”, meaning once the gavel has pounded?
I think we can guess the answer to that one, can’t we?

A trip around the Blogospheres tells me there is little if ANY divide on this one between the left and the right…
“Good riddance.”
“But what will become of The Children and The Elderly and The Vaccines?!!!!”
“… cold as it may be in Springfield, it’s time to open the windows and air the place out — and maybe to count the silverware.”
“… let me toss something out here, Ron Burgundy style, and if you don’t like how it sounds, send it right back: Fox News analyst Rod Blagojevich. Think it over. …”
“GOOD OR EVIL?”
“… quite the exclamation point on the entire affair… “

It’ll just be another waste of time. Sure, the man is now out of office for good, but what’s going to happen? He’ll probably be pardoned and he’ll fade away into civilian life for the rest of his life. If he was corrupt, he should go to jail. He should spend his time in jail and then, when he is out, be able to live his life. But, politicians do it all the time: scratch each other’s back.

Whatever happens in the future it feels good now that Blago is gone. But with his balls he will probably not be forgotten. He is only barred from running for political office in Illinois. So where will he pop up next?

Didn’t expect it so soon, but I did expect it. Any of the capons in IL who want to keep their cushy jobs had to vote to convict. Otherwise they would be next on the block.
And, do you really think that with the connections with The Obama, or the connections that Blogos people had with The Obamas people, he will ever face trial? Can’t risk having any hints of collusion between Blogo & The Obama see the light of day. It will plea down to something minor, he will get his wrist slapped, and be free to live like a king.

Heh… Joe… always the skeptic — that’s why you fit right in around here

This is just the beginning. Don’t forget who was one of Blago’s biggest supporters and closest friends . . . that’s right – the antichrist Obama The Indonesian.
When Sarah Palin talked about how Obama likes to pal around with terrorists, she neglected to mention that he also likes to pal around with criminally corrupt politicians like Blago.
Blagojevich is a relatively young man with young children. He won’t go quietly to prison without throwing a few of his traitorous friends under the bus. Even the big O can’t roll around in the mud without getting dirty!
Watch out Obama, Blago is about to spill his guts.
