President-Elect And All Fifty Democratic Senators Protest Appointment; The Former Calls For Blago To Step Down
Everybody from both sides of the political divide seems to be upset about it but it is what it is — the [still] governor of The Great State Of Illinois, Rod Blagojevich (a.k.a., “The Cabbage Patch Kid” in these circles), has exercized his Constitutional duty to the constituents of his state and has appointed a MANDATORY “black guy”, Roland Burris, to replace the departing “black guy’s”, President-Elect Barry “Steve” Obama’s vacated Senate seat.
Look, not only was it Blago’s Constitutional DUTY to take this action; Mr. Burris had won the “somewhat-disputed” auction for Steve’s vacant seat by hooking the “Gub’nor” up with over $20,000.00 in “donations” (Source: Chicago Breaking News; H/T to MemeOrandum for the pull), thereby winning his new Senate seat. My heartfelt congratulations go out to [New] “Freshman Senator” Burris.
President-Elect Steve, on the other hand, is not so gracious, most likely due to the fact he and his new Chief Of Staff, Rahm Emmanuel were unable and/or unwilling to beat Senator Burris’ $20K bid. In a demonstration of “sour grapes”, Steve blasted the “Gub’nor” for exercizing his gubernatorial MANDATE to quickly shove the highest-bidding person, never mind the highest-bidding BLACK person into his rightful Senate seat before the prison walls and bars would prevent him from doing so.
Folks, my hat is off to the “Gub’nor” and I send a huge raspberry in the direction of the Democratic senators and their soon-to-be president for promising a unanimous and united vow of refusal to recognize Senator Burris’ status as THE newest senator in Washington, D.C. To make matters even worse, the former U.S. Senator from The Great State of Illinois, President-Elect Steve, overstepped his bounds even further by abusing the newest “office” on Capitol Hill, “The Office Of The President-Elect” (Source: NewsMax), by calling out for Blago to avoid due process and “step down now” (Source: USAToday). UNACCEPTABLE, Sir.
While I, of course, have already welcomed Senator Burris aboard, many of my fellow bloggers; both sides of the blogospheres, with too much time on their hands, have “ISSUES” with this brilliant appointment, which, rightfully, AGAIN, was awarded to the highest bidder in the “Senate Seat For Sale” so-called “scandal”. Sorry, my fellow bloggers, but Blago was crystal-CLEAR about the rules: he or she who “donates” the most WINS and it is indisputable, the fact that new Senator Burris has done just that…
