COUNTERPOINT: Should The Weekly Standard‘s Neocon Extremist, Bill Kristol, Be Wiretapped And Data-Mined By The New Obama-”O” Biden Administration Without FISA Permission In The Name Of “Good Intentions” To Investigate His Possible “Ties” To “Timothy McVeigh-Ish” Far-Right Criminals?
Now, I’ve heard it ALL…
“… Bush should consider pardoning–and should at least be vociferously praising–everyone who served in good faith in the war on terror, but whose deeds may now be susceptible to demagogic or politically inspired prosecution by some seeking to score political points. The lawyers can work out if such general or specific preemptive pardons are possible; it may be that the best Bush can or should do is to warn publicly against any such harassment or prosecution. …”
(Snip!)
“… the NSA officials who listened in on phone calls from Pakistan, should not have to worry about legal bills or public defamation. In fact, Bush might want to give some of these public servants the Medal of Freedom… ” — Bill Kristol of The Weekly Standard
Hmmm. Okay, now Billy-Boy; let’s get this straight. “Politically inspired prosecution”? What’s that? The law is the law and the Constitution is the Constitution and only a total FRUITLOOP like yourself believes “politics” should weigh in when it comes to law enforcement. After all, Billy — isn’t it you who is always whining about those “activist judges” who “legislate from the bench” and push hard for those so-called “strict Constitutionalist judges” to be appointed to their benches? If so, and it IS so — your “advice” to President Bush (above) has exposed you for what you really ARE, Sir — a total hypocrite.
“Let’s not only bend the law of the land for these well-intentioned felons; let’s shower them with medals!“, you cry; as IF President “Surge” Dubya Bush gives a rip what you think in the first place, or even reads your neoconservative RAG. After all, “Surge” has already, on more than one occasion, claimed he doesn’t even read the newspapers, much less your pathetic excuse of a “newspaper”, Sir.
But — back to the point alluded to in my sub-title. I’m somewhat suspicious now, that Mr. Kristol MIGHT just have “ties” to torturers, G.O.P., CIA, and FBI “crooked cops” who, like their compadrés and fellow Republican extremists, Timothy McVeigh and Ted Bundy, believe as long as your crimes are committed in the name of whatever YOU believe is for “the greater good”, the law of the land should NOT apply. And, this being the case, I should be allowed to use the same logic against Mr. Kristol and his fellow wackos — I think they’re all dangerous and in the proverbial “bed” together. Therefore, I should be able to take it upon myself to data-mine and eavesdrop upon Mr. Kristol without any lawful approval from our Judicial Branch and bring any “evidence” I’d like to a secret Obama-”O” Biden undergound court and if Billy-Boy gets “roughed up” a bit as a result, no problemma, Señor — I get both my pardon AND my Medal of Freedom for fighting the “good fight” against domestic “terr’ists”. I absolutely LOVE how these nincompoops think. Without ‘em, life would be as dull as their brains are, wouldn’t it?
Our friend from the Right, Don Surber of The Charleston Daily Mail, of course, couldn’t agree more with Mr. Kristol:
Sounds like a good idea
Think Progress: Bill “Kristol Calls On Bush To Pardon Torturers And Wiretappers, Reward Them With Medal Of Freedom.”Sounds like a good idea. …”
Ahem. With all due respect, Mr. Surber — if that sounds like a good idea, than so does mine. Adding you to the “Kristol-Bundy-McVeigh-type secret Left-Wing Good Patriot Watchlist”. Just kidding, of course.
Andy Sullivan of The Daily Dish, on the other hand, sees things a bit differently and adds a completely different dimension to the argument (just a tiny “snip” of a huge “must read”):
“… As the French essayist Michel de Montaigne once commented, and Shakespeare echoed, even the greatest philosophers have difficulty thinking clearly when they have a toothache. These wise men were describing the inescapable frailty of the human experience, mocking the claims of some seers to be above basic human feelings and bodily needs. If that frailty is exposed by a toothache, it is beyond dispute in the case of torture. …”
But hey, you know the truth — Bill Kristol believes the lawbreaking extremist torturers were “Patriots” and should walk away from their crimes scot free and with medals dangling from their necks. Fellow Republican Timothy McVeigh was a similar “Patriot” in many ways, as was paid G.O.P. staffer, Ted Bundy — “Patriots with self-defined good intentions”, ALL of the above. Easily SPOOKED, but hardly ever FOOLED…
If you can buy that one.
