Don’t let us down, Sir. I held my nose as I voted for you and I PROMISE you I’ll be on your butt like white on rice should you start playing “poly-tix” versus leading our great nation and its middle class to a better “tommorow”.
Enough said on MY part. Now it’s YOUR turn. Change? I DEMAND IT, Mr. President. PRODUCE. You are now MY employee…
O-PINE, please.

Thank you for the vote, GTL. I know it was hard for you as you weren’t all too happy with any of them if I remember correctly. Obama’s not going to satisfy all my needs, I’m sure. But I am very happy this evening, and I could help crying when I discovered his victory. I have confidence in him. A refreshing change from Bush, indeed. But don’t get your hopes up too much, ya hear. You’ll set yourself up for disappointment that way. He’s still a politician.
My pleasure, Tix. You are correct on all counts
Just because I voted for the man doesn’t mean I will not hold him accountable. HE works for ME; not the other way around…
I voted for a vice president tonight for the first time in my life
I agree with the both of you…at least there is a Paradigm shift in conciousness already…baby boomers thought they’d never see this in their lifetime.
It’s gonna get interesting indeed!
oh let’s not forget about that “Community Organizing” joke/labeling during the GOP convention…I don’t think Rudy G, Sarah P and the bunch will be laughing much about that anymore.
200 years shattered.
Senator McCain was gracious in defeat last night, which bodes well in his return to the Senate. Senator Obama was eloquent in victory, and spoke to the issues that needed to be addressed.
While it remains to be seen whether he will, in fact, listen to the people when they disagree with him, it’s certainly refreshing to hear that sentiment from an Executive Branch official as opposed to “you’re either with us or against us.”
I wrote a draft congratulations letter after the 2006 election. I’ve not reread it yet, but it may still be appropriate now. It can be read here.
And as I read it again, I see that there are some points that need to be edited, particularly the part about the unpopular president, as we will have a new president and it’s unclear what his popularity will be 100 days after entering office…
True. Just as we did with Bush and co.
The look on Palin’s face last night was so classic I thought they had hired Tina Fey to stand in for Palin.
McCain displayed dignity in his speech last night. Where was that during the election?
Exactly — where was that dignity during the “Different Kind Of Campaign” the “Straight Talk Express” promised us he’d run? Had it have been there during the race, things MIGHT have turned out the opposite way for Juan Sidney Mac. I hope future wannabe presidents have learned from this huge “oops” and will conduct their campaigns with dignity, respect and focusing on the issues versus 2-bit personal attack after 2-bit personal attack.
It was truly a choice between the lesser of two evils. But what we have right now is pure evil. January can’t come soon enough.
I respect your right to vote GTL, but I think you chose the BIGGER of two big government guys running…nanny state here we come!
All, I have to say is “Don’t blame me, I voted for Chuck (Baldwin, not the poster chuck, heh heh heh)”
Steve
I think big government is on both sides of the fence. Conservativism is a thing of the past. Neo-Conservativism is big government for big people. Democrats are big government for the middle class.
They are both tax-n-spenders.
Now, as far as I’m aware, Ron Paul was for the least amount of government, and I favored him. Hopefully, he’ll run again in the future.
This will be the best thing that has happend for conservatives in a long, long time. True conservatives, not the GOP as we know it. When Barry, Nancy, and Harry can’t make their grand golden vision smoke and mirrors plans come true, and IF the conservatives can retake control of the GOP, expect a House cleaning (Senate too) in the ’10 mid terms.
I just realized another good thing about Barry winning -
RACISM IS DEAD!!!
(well, until the progressives need it as a tool again)
Yep, we got ourselves an honest to god BLACK President-elect. Jesse and Al can close up shop and get real jobs. Racism is a dead issue now and we can get past it.
EXACTLY, JOE!!! No more of this Affirmative Action CRAPPOLA in regards to being tied to skin color. Economic standing? SURE. Race? PI$$ OFF. That is now a dead issue forevermore. I agree with affirmative action to some degree; just not in regards to skin tone.
GREAT POINT, Sir — as always
OK. The Foreign League of Anti-Americans have already declared Obama “The Token Negro” that only won due to Affirmative Action.
In my opinion, that is way out of bounds. Not to say that there weren’t people that voted for him because he was black, but to go as far as implying the majority had done that was a bit too delusional for my taste.
I’ll try posting this a 2nd time so I apologize if this is a duplication.
Racism didn’t end last night BUT the economy trumped Race in this campaign for sure!
Racists and Bigots are the new minority!
I did not vote for Obama yesterday as the lesser of two evils, nor did I vote for him because he is black. I voted for him because I choose courage over fear, unknown change over the status quo. inclusion instead of exclusion. I voted for Obama because I was voting against secrecy and signing statements, torture and secret prisons. an immoral and unjust war and social conservatism.
I do not expect Obama to be perfect, nor do I expect him to keep all of his promises. I do expect him to keep his promise of being President for all Americans not just those who agree with him. I am far more worried about the Democratic congress and what they may do in the voice of revenge.
The greatest thing about voting yesterday was not who I voted for but that I was able to vote in privacy, know that my vote would remain private and that it would be counted. That I had a choice of five different presidental parties to pick from and that no one could tell me how to vote.
The other greatest thing about yesterday was that a majority of the American public realized once again that WE are the government and that we could and did vote the rascals out. Now the Democratic congress needs to remember that they have been the rascals in the past and may be again in the future. That there is a new, younger electorate that seems to be fed up with politics as usual.
Obama had almost twice as much campaign money as McCain had…and with the help of the liberal MSM illuminati~ there you have it! Obama is now President!
mnotaro, So, are you against donations toward campaigns? Or only against them when the president of your choice isn’t elected?
Ok. The media brainwashed us? How did the Republican presidents of the past get elected? I guess the Left weren’t watching TV’s then?
Cheer up, guys. I just found out today that Obama is really a Republican.
OT —
Sorry, I just realized that I used both Tix!! and Virgomonkey on this site. We are the same person. Thanks to GTL, I use Tix!! and I like it, but I have a habit of being Virgomonkey. But I’m really Tix — I swear.
LOL
“mnotaro”…please explain the MSM Illumanit’s role in electing Obama? I gotta hear this one.
Dammit, where the hell is my free case of Bubble-up and my case of rainbow stew?
I hope he does something right, because he knows nothing, and the left-wing illuminati don’t know much more, but how to spend money.
