Question: Should Barry Obama Go After John McCain’s Wacko “Spiritual Guides” Or Should That Be Considered “Off-Limits”?
Thus far, Señor Juan Sidney McCain Of Arizona Panama’s long-standing ties to the VERY controversial (to say the least) self-proclaimed “spiritual guides”, Reverends Rob Parsely and Ted Hagee, who were (in)famous for some of their recent remarks, have been considered “off-limits” by the Barry Obama Campaign. To re-wind a bit, let’s take a look at some “greatest hits” from these two “highly-respected” (by Señor McCain) “reverends”:
Rod Parsely: “America was founded, in part, with the intention of seeing this false religion [of Islam] destroyed.” …
Ted Hagee: “Hurricane Katrina was, in fact, the judgment of God against the city of New Orleans.” …
Not to mention the fact Sarah Barracuda Palin’s spiritual advisers have been known to play around with rattlesnakes, daring them to pierce the “Inpenetrable Veil of Jesus” and bite them as rumor has it.
Obviously, both Barry Obama and Joey “0″ Biden have PLENTY of ammo to use in going after the religious “wacko-ness” of the headliners of the Señor McCain Paŕa Èl Presidenté Campaign’s spiritual guides, yet, they’ve been quite “gentlemanly” so far and have elected to stay away from such tactics, whether true or not.
But now, Sam Stein of The Huffington Post is reporting Rick Davis, Señor McCain’s Campaign Chief and well-known chief lobbyist for both Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, is thinking it might be a good idea to dust off the ole’ “Jeremiah Wright, Jr.” Card. I can understand the reasoning. I mean, after all, we can’t have a guy who goes “pallin’ around with terr’ists” in office, can we? Anything it takes to relieve ourselves from this horrid possibility, I say. Bring it on, Señor McCain’s stinkin’ lobbyist broski campaign manager.
Although, I would caution the campaign to the fact they might get a three-for-one deal they MIGHT not be bargaining for as far as the “Who Has The Wackiest Spiritual Adviser” game goes.

Other great reads from the Blogospheres (just “snips” — read in their entirety, please — if they weren’t must reads, I wouldn’t be linking to them): Andrew Sullivan of The Daily Dish says “… guilt by association would, however, be a fitting end to the McCain campaign. …”; Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic asks if Rick Davis is simply trying to “fool the base“; Kyle E. Moore of Comments From Left Field is saying this is a direct reflection on McCain’s lack of morals and principles; Josh Morton of MyDD says this will just prove to the voters how desparate McCain’s campaign really is…

Whatever McCain tends to throw at Obomber bounces off and hits McCain in the face. Reagan may have been the teflon President but Obama seems like the rubber candidate

I was going to post on this issue over at Papamoka but I thought I would wait till the first volley was thrown at Obama from the GOP and not just McCain and his talking heads. You nailed all the topics I was thinking and I swear to bejesus we are twins!
I just might follow your well pointed out lead on this issue and do a post anyway. Ya rock bro!

I think they’ll do it anyway. You know, in that underhanded, GOP, ‘Hey, I didn’t do it’ kinda way.
FOX was just wondering if McCain would use Rev. Wright (while showing the clips, of course). How many times are they going to ham-fistedly posit this tactic before it develops a life of its own?

Not a post for this subject in particular, but I have noticed you frequently refer to Senator McCain using “Juan Sidney ..”, yet you never use Obama’s middle name — why is that? hmmm?

This would just be one more boneheaded re-exploitation of another worn out misrepresentaion of the facts which is the only thing this morally bankrupt campaign has got left. Not only that, but as you point out, McLame and his little whore Palin have much weirder and nastier religious figures in their camp. That’s why we’re not seeing any Reverand Wright crap so far. They will probably give it a shot in the final five days so there isn’t much time for rebuttal or retalliation by the Obama camp.

Hiya, Gunboat — here’s your easy answer: Because I’m BIASED
Want Fair And Balanced? Tune into FoxNews and you’ll be sure to find it there. This is a blog and I’m not ashamed to admit my bias:
ANTI-McCain (as in WON’T be voting for the man who attacked our 1st Amendment with McCain-Feingold) under ANY circumstance.
NOT FOR Obama (as in, I’m still trying to figure out whether or not I’ll be voting for one of the third-part/independents, writing somebody in, or voting for the lesser of so-called “two evils”)
Now, isn’t that refreshing? I admit it here, versus ANY mainstream media so-called “news organization).
That’s why I’m glad you dropped by and we’d be grateful for you to bookmark, or add this site to your feeds or favorites and keep on loggin’ in and being heard

Do you think Fox is fair and balanced, Gunboat?
11:22 am on October 22nd, 2008 9
Fair and honest? I am not sure what that means, exactly, and undoubtedly varies widely depending on a person’s views and pre-conceived notions. People tend see what they are looking for. If you are looking for bias, you will find it. That said, I don’t watch FOX all that much, but it is clear they lean conservative. However, there always seems to be air time given to someone with a liberal viewpoint. And not just the left wingnuts, but people with real credentials. They seem to make a real effort to air both sides and they usually manage to do it without the usual screaming and name calling I see elsewhere, including here.

Good answer.
