To Put Into Perspective: Number 10 Was Dick Morris
A huge “thank you” goes out to Wonkosphere for recognizing The Gun Toting Liberal™ for being the number THREE blogger -slash- “media pundit” in regards to my “psychic” pre-debate commentary, forecasting and predictions involving my former classmate from Wasilla Junior High, Sarah “Barracuda” Palin and her clash with Joey “The Hammer” Biden.
While any long-time reader knows there is NO WAY I’m going to vote for Señor McCain of Panama Arizona and I’m just SLIGHTLY more excited about Barry Obama (and I do mean EVER so slightly — no “white guilt” here), I’m more than happy to kick Dick “Toes” Morris’ butt by seven points in the “This Guy Knows What’s Going On” lowdown “contest” at Wonkosphere.
This is most likely what got the attention of Wonkosphere, from my pre-debate post (and yes, it IS “unfair” since I did happen to know both Sarah and her husband, Todd Palin as a young man growing up in The Great White North)… a “snip” from my sarahnormal paranormal article:
“… Meanwhile, the MOST up-to-the-minute debate happening in “The Blogospheres” tonight is the REAL debate — the one between Sarah Palin and Joe Biden. The Politico’s Mike Allen is reporting Sarah will come out swinging in her legendary “barracuda” mode. If so, this will make tonight’s one and only veep wannabe debate all that more interesting. It was just last night I told my GOP “insider”, whom was quite worried about Sarah’s performance tonight against Joey Biden based upon her recent, piss-poor media appearances, my former classmate would be just FINE if they’d stop “coaching” her and let her be her natural, brilliant “self” versus the “ditz” they were forcing her to come off as. Not that I’m a McCain fan OR a political fan of Sarah Palin’s, it’s just one of those “You scratch my back, I’ll scratch yours” moments. …”
Anyhoo — thank you again, to Wonkosphere, and Dick Morris — you are welcome to a head-to-head interview with The GTL™ ANY day of the week. The offer stands, Sir.
That said, and chest-thumping over and done with (for this moment), you all are welcome to o-pine in the comments section below as to who won the debate — I’d love to hear it. Frankly, MY opionion is that the debate was an overall “tie” and the “tie” goes to Barry O-Bomber and Joey O-Biden (Sarah’s words, not mine) this time… but by a VERY slim margin of victory.
Speaking of “GOP Insider” stuff, and speaking of “One Step Ahead” — look for the testiest Señor “Panama John” McCain of Panama Arizona the general American Public has ever seen in Tuesday night’s next presidential debate against Barry O-Bomber. This time, I’m going on the record to advise Barry it’s HIS turn to bring his “A-Game” and, as Andrew Sullivan of The Daily Dish (The Atlantic) puts it — the “Alpha Male Obama” or he’s TOAST.
Ladies and Gentlemen… there is no more room for ladies, OR gentlemen in this race.

Hey, Guns, if it is a tie, then isn’t that really a victory for Sarah-girl? I mean, Joey-boy was supposed to just bury her with his 63 (or is it 36? He has been there so long) years of experience in the Hallowed Halls of the Senate and his superior intellect and education. He could do it with one face tied behind his back. Or so it was said.
So, if an experienced professional politician and master debater can barely hold his own against a lipsticked hockey mom with zero debate experience, how would he do against someone like Dear Leader or ackmjenida, um, amdjemany..the guy who runs Iran? Do we really want someone that inept a heartbeat away from the Oval Office?
As an aside, I saw a good tee shirt the other day –
McCain/MILF
I doubt that it will change any minds, but I think it is funny.

Congratulations, you!!!!

Joe-Biden did bury her.

He may have sprinkled a thin coat of dust on her, but considering his unfamiliarity with Art. 1 of the Constitution, and him being a lawyer and a 6 term Senator whose job is described in that article of the Constitution, I have serious doubts that he “did bury her.”
Not only that, but many of his comments on coal, oil, taxes, were, to be charitable, “imperfectly true.”

Congrats to you Bro!!! You earned it through well thought out commentary and reporting. Now go take out the trash like the wife has been telling you since September 30th!!! LOL!

Joe — LOL at the McCain/MILF slogan! As for Sarah’s Cheneyesque comment about the veep being a fourth superbranch unto itself, are you SURE the Constitution created FOUR equal but separate branches or am I misunderstanding you here, bro? If so, I guess we’ll just have to agree to disagree on that one because I felt it was one of her weakest moments aside from quoting Scotty McClellan (or was it General McClellan who was fired by President Lincoln she was referring to?) H/T to my twin brutha, Mat for that pull…
Tix and Mat — THANKS!!!
And yes, Mat — those “Honey Do’s” are piling up, brotha
G — a lot of people agree with you, bro

OH,congrats, Guns. But why only 3rd place?
Yeah, her 4th branch was pretty lame. But then the Honorable Joe Biden was off saying that Art. 1 describes the duties of the Exec. branch.
don’t get me started on Lincoln, his political generals, and HIS poor understanding, or outright ignoring, of the Constitution.

Meanwhile…the stinky Sarah Palin troopergate case still lurks in the background like a potential bad dream:

[...] the real psychic here anyhoo? Why, it’s Chris Floyd, foks.. Now. heh heh. My simpatico Gun-Toting Liberal is referred to by the Wonkosphere as the One-Step-Ahead, Numero 3, psychic – for his pre-debate [...]

No problemo, Guns. I figure that after 36 years Biden should know his job description (US Constitution, Art. 1) by now.
2:39 am on October 5th, 2008 12
Can’t argue with that logic seeing as you were kind enough to cede the fact the the Cheney/Palin 4th [separate but equal] “Superbranch” claim was NEVER a part of the Constitution, NOR was it EVER the intent of our Founders (?) when they drew up the ALMOST-perfect document we’ve come to know and love as The U.S. Constitution…
3:21 am on October 5th, 2008 13
That is a mighty fine document our founding terrorists came up with. I think they should have given grounds for impeachment to incompetence as well as to high crimes and misdemeanors.
12:38 pm on October 5th, 2008 14
G — if only Congress had “a set”, there are plenty of high crimes and misdemeanors in the White House for them to have acted long ago

No doubt. There is also the possibility of criminal prosecutions. That is one more reason we need change.
