Roger Simon Of The Politico Reports The Worst “Zinger” We’ll Hear In Biden-Palin Debate Will Be “I am not sure what Gov. Palin meant there…”
Roger Simon seems at least slightly concerned about whether or not the best strategy for vice presidential candidate Joe Biden in his debate against Sarah Palin will be his planned one of being “gentlemanly” with the Governor of Alaska and instead, focusing his attention mostly upon the dismal record and policies of her new boss, Señor Juan Sidney McCain of Panama Arizona. After all, Joe Biden is “The Slingmeister” of Capitol Hill if there ever was one and one could make the major stretch to argue my former classmate from Wasilla, Alaska has made a “gaffe” or two along the way and could conceivably make another one or two during her debate with Biden this weekend.
Just after the Palin announcement was made by the Señor Juan Sidney McCain Paŕa Él Presidenté Campaign, my “GOP insider” buddy and I chatted about it (isn’t it strange I have a GOP “insider” who is pretty high in the Republican “food chain” but no a Democratic “insiders”? Go figure… accepting applications, of course) and the first thing I told him was “I wonder how shocked Barry Obama and Joe Biden are? He’s going to have to be careful with his “zingers” or he’ll look like a bully to our fellow Americans” to which he agreed. And don’t forget — my friend had already given me the strong hint Sarah would be nominated back in May.
Obviously, my point is this — good call on behalf of the Obama-O-Biden team. Unfortunately, and I use this word not because Sarah is my political hero by any means, she is (was, at least) one of the nicest “kids” in junior high school, she will most likely not NEED any “bullying” to make herself look bad based upon her performance in her interview with Katie Couric (Source: CBSNews) — Katie didn’t come off as a “bully-type” either, did she? Well, unless excessive eye-blinking can be construed as “bullying”, that is.
And believe it or not, Sarah’s no “ditz” either — she was a great student, very nice and very intelligent in school and people don’t just suddenly “lose it” like that. The only thing I can figure is Señor McCain’s “handlers” and “coaches”, who’ve helped him to produce too many “gaffes” to keep count of anymore, must have gotten into the head of “The Barracuda” and turned her into a “gaffe machine” in her own right but that’s just MOI.
Oh well, regardless of most of the above, I’m glad Joe Biden has made it known he is choosing this strategy for his debate with Sarah Palin. Despite the fact Sarah, I and her husband, Todd Palin, seem to have drifted WAY far apart from a political and religious standpoint, it’s hard for me as a former classmate of both Sarah (Wasilla) and Todd Palin (Glennallen, Alaska) to sit down, tune into the television, and watch them and their family members be grilled, and torn apart by the media, too. On the other hand, do NOT get me wrong — I completely understand it, aside from the mainstream media versus the Palin kids (that’s just WRONG).
All of the above having been said, the time has come for me to take on the “Panamanian Psychic” and predict a Biden victory in this vice presidential debate.

Biden better not screw this up!
All he has to do is sit back and let her make a fool of herself. Biden has a history of slip-ups too so he should say as little as possible, lol
I’m pretty psycho myself every now and then GTL. I predict that all the O’bama supporters will think O’Biden won, and all the McCain supporters will think that Gov. Palin won.
OOPS! Looks like the fix is already in. The so-called “moderator” Gwen Ifill is totally in the tank for Obama. So much so that she has written a book, “Breakthrough: Politics and Race in the Age of Obama” about her god-hero that will be released on Inauguration day in January 2009. A fact that was not revealed until after both parties agreed to her selection as moderator.
No need to waste any time expecting a fair debate tonight. Gov. Palin will have to fend off cheap shots from O’Biden AND the “Moderator.”
Something tells me that Palin will peel him like a grape. She does need to be quicker to spot traps and turn them around though. “Um…exactly WHICH Bush Doctrine do you mean? Will you tell me exactly what you mean by that?” She isn’t going to be able to ‘nice’ her way through this.
If the GOP didn’t research Gwen’s book, which was mentioned in Time Magazine in July, then they are truly incompetent. Gwen was picked to be the moderate by both parties in first week of August.
At this point, I think we could all get hired by the GOP and do a better job. They’ll use this Gwen deal IF Sarah performs badly.
Get out of jail free card.
heck…all you have to do is google Gwen’s name and there you have it…silly
I predict that Palin will benefit greatly from the lowered expectations. She’s been training like Rocky.
Biden should definitely be civil. The high road has taken the Obama campaign this far. No need to abandon it now.
I take back everything bad I said about Gwen Ifill, almost. She was about as impartial as anyone could expect, with the exception of letting O’Biden have a few extra rebuttals and a few extra minutes to make his obviously weak case. Also, nearly all of the questions were geared toward O’Biden’s strengths and Gov. Palin’s admittedly weaker areas. But at least Ms. Ifill didn’t try to prevent Gov. Palin from turning the table on her and providing a much needed summary of her own history and background. This was quite refreshing and clearly demonstrated that Gov. Palin is probably more in tune with the American people than any of the other candidates.
Beyond that, it is very clear that my prediction was accurate. All the Obama* supporters think O’Biden won, and all the McCain supporters realize that Gov. Palin won.
I watched the follow-up on MSNBC, the Communist News Network (CNN), Fox News, NBC, and CBS. It was hilarious, every single talking head (and even a few talking torsos) were singing the praises of their own candidate. Not one democrat had the cajones to admit that Gov. Palin clearly won the debate. And not one republican failed to recognize that same fact.
Regardless of the outcome of this election, I think we’ll see Gov. Palin again, running for President in the not-too-far-distant future. She’s about as close to a female version of Ronald Reagan that I’ve ever seen.
And if Obama* is elected, we’re going to need another Ronald Reagan to come in and clean up Obama’s* mess.

Heh… I think it was a tie and being such, a loss for McCain… a very great debate IMNSHO
