Señor J. Sidney McCain Pulls The Ole’ “Bait And Switch” On Mainstream Media — Cheats CBS Into Taking Pictures Of Face-To-Face Discussion Between Sarah Palin And Afghan President Hamid Karzai

J. Sidney McCain Paŕa Èl Presidenté Campaign Tricks MSM Organizations Into Snapping Photo Ops Of Event Then Breaks Age-Old Tradition Of Allowing Followup Interview Questions…

John McCain shields Sarah Palin from the press and any press interviews -- can one assume he is hiding something from the People is the question...They’re going to look FANTASTIC — the fresh photos of Alaska Governor Sarah Palin pictured with the president of Afghanistan; looking sharp, professional, ready to prove she does indeed possess “foreign policy skills” to folks with low IQ’s who shall see such pictures, while completely unaware of the fact her “handler”, Señor McCain of Arizona Panama, had removed ANY possibility of pressure on Sarah Palin by protecting her from curious reporters (Source: CBS News). Indeed, instead of some nice soundbites, i.e., “Mrs. Governor, what did you and President Karzai discuss?” followed by a straight-up answer, we hear NOTHING. All we see is an Alaskan Queen sitting down to chat with a key figure in America’s immediate military, financial and political future and again — wow, did she look “important” just sitting there with the guy or what?

You see, this says a helluvalot more about her boss from Panama and HIS handlers than it does about Sarah Palin herself. I’m of the opinion my former classmate from Wasilla, Alaska, can more than hold her own with the press, but obviously, Señor J. Sidney is proving more and more by the day, the fact he does NOT trust his running mate; a former LIVE TELEVISION REPORTER, by the way (Source: U.S. Magazine) — to aptly handle the press. Her responses to questions might be sharp-toned, gutsy, contain a tad bit of “spin”, but she cannot POSSIBLY be any worse than her new boss, Señor McCain “Doubletalk Express” when it comes to facing the media can she?

As much as all of the above tells us about J. Sidney’s character, or lack thereof; what about the “Bait And Switch” trick he has now been caught playing with CBS and other news organizations? A “snippet” or two:

“… After media outlets complained to the McCain/Palin campaign about its attempt to prevent an editorial presence at Gov. Palin’s first meeting of the day, a pool producer was allowed in to the photo spray with Palin and Afghan President Hamid Karzai.

She has been a candidate for the second highest office in the land for nearly a month, but Sarah Palin has yet to hold a single press conference. …”

(Snip!)

“… But just a little more than an hour before Palin’s first meeting was set to begin, the pool producer was notified that he would not be allowed in to the photo spray. This means that the McCain/Palin campaign would get the benefit of free pictures of Palin’s meeting with world leaders without having to face the possibility that the candidate might have to answer a question from the media.

Television networks, including CBS News maintain a policy that if they are prevented from having an editorial presence at an event, they will not allow cameras to shoot it. …”

In other words, sound like it went down thusly

  • News crews: “Snip-Snip-Snip” (cameras snapping photos) –
  • Señor Juan Sidney McCain Paŕa Èl Presidenté Campaign: “Okay, y’all — that’ll be enough now. Buh-bye (Secret Service spooks usher them outside) –
  • See now, if you lean (far) to the Right, there is nothing wrong with such a scenario, but to Democrats and independent voters such as myself, it’s downright CREEPY. Again, not to beat a dead horse; I attended junior high school in Wasilla with Sarah Palin and the woman’s no mental midget; never was. Being a former member of the Mainstream Media, she surely knows how to handle the questions she herself once would ask of the Elites before she became one of them. So, the REAL question is…

Just what IS Señor Juan Sidney McCain afraid of when it comes to the thought of having Sarah Palin answer a few questions; questions of The People; THE same People our Founders risked their lives to protect via our First Amendment and the Freedom Of The Press? Oh, and they risked their lives to protect The Press because The Press IS an arm of The People; particularly the skeptical ones such as I and hopefully you as well.

Be afraid. Be VERY afraid of a presidential wannabe, no matter his or her party cartel affiliation, when they are too fearful of allowing his or her “Number Two” to face The People and Their Press. No doubt, this is even SPOOKIER coming from the party cartel of “If you’ve nothing to hide, you’ve nothing to fear”, wouldn’t you agree?

  • My personal blogger roundup on the topic: Our good buddy Kyle E. Moore of Comments From Left Field says when he (rarely) thinks of Sarah Palin, he prefers to go back and watch the SNL’s Tina Fey impersonation of her; James Joyner of Outside The Beltway points out this act on behalf of McCain might damage his previously decent Press relations; The always brilliant Andrew Sullivan of The Daily Dish (The Atlantic) points out the blatant sexism in the McCain DISS of the Media to “protect” Sarah Palin; Michael D. of Balloon Juice says this just goes to show a Sarah Palin look-alike strolling the streets of NY has more foreign policy experience than “the real one”; Tony Campbell of The Moderate Voice believes this was a good idea; Doctor Steven Taylor of PoliBlog (a fellow Alabamian blogger) says the whole idea of hiding the “Number Two” of a ticket from the Press is INSANE; Marc Ambinder of The Atlantic says this marks the beginning of a “standoff” between the Press and the McCain Campaign; Our good friend William Teach of Stop The ACLU points out this is no big loss since the “left-wing media” wouldn’t be voting for Sarah Palin anyway; Our good friend Libby Spencer of The Impolitic points out the fact it’s now been 40 days since the last time McCain has had the guts to hold a Press conference of ANY sort; And last but not leastMichelle Malkin writes about the actual Sarah Palin look-alike Michael D. of Balloon Juice wrote about — apparently, The Big Apple did, INDEED like the fake “Sarah” pretty well

You beat me to the punch on this one. I am 100% surprised that McCain would go to the point of not even allowing his pre selected reporters into the meetings. Only allowing cameras, as to ask for the photo op without asking for it. I want to hear Palin speak about the issues without cue cards and ear bugs. How long can he protect her. I would love for her to meet with China or Russia and then hear what she thinks of foreign leaders.

HMMMM….. Maybe it’s because when it comes to Gov. Palin the MSM has shown itself to be unable to resist asking questions they would never ask of a MALE candidate. Or maybe it’s because they are so far in the tank for Obama they have lost the ability to be impartial in the way they approach it. The truth is if they can’t twist her words they just make somthing up. Either way the MSM is doing a great diservice to the viewers.

McCain is obviously protecting Sarah Palan until she gets up to speed on foreign policy. Its a wise move. Rather then turn her lose and let her make one gaffe after another he has allowed her time to learn, study and get up to speed on foreign policy.

Obama’s team has found traction by deflecting to smearing Palin. They have retaken the lead. Why stop a good thing. Obama is not a new candidate. His approach is just a bit different. Let everyone around him smear the opponent while he himself pretends that that is unacceptable. I think that is why I personally dont trust him because he quite clearly is a liar and non genuine and the more he is exposed the more his minions call you a liar.

And before you become angry with me. Remember we are talking about a politician here who has groomed himself to be president. NOT THE POPE.

Postulate. Politicians are liars. Obama is a Politician.

“McCain is obviously protecting Sarah Palan until she gets up to speed on foreign policy”

Seriously can someone get up to speed on foreign policy in the 60 days before McCain may tip over? On the other hand Palin being hidden just means one less person spinning pre-election lies. For that at least in thank McCain.

As far as “smearing Palin”, that’s an interesting choice of words from our centrist truth pointing Compass when basically all they have to do is be factual about her inexperience, how she didn’t sell a jet on eBay nor is she, as he like to say “READY”. You don’t have to smear when you have that much to work with. By the way what is it exactly she thinks she is ready for? Is she blindly that unaware of how “unREADY” she really is? The mere fact they are hiding or “protecting” her as you put it (how fatherly of you btw) basically just screams SHE’S NOT READY.

Letting “everyone around him smear the opponent”. You state this like Obama is unique and dirty in this tactic. You can’t tell me you missed McCain’s mouthpieces wallowing in the same approach. Well I guess you can but then I’d have to say the Compass is pointing south when actually facing north, but still INSISTING it’s SOUTH and the error is the elite liberal medias fault.

A friend of mine that has connects in Alaska said that the GOP has media up in Alaska on lockdown….nothing negative is coming out of AK about Sarah right now…forget about it…he said it’s quite scary up there at the moment. What are we truely being distracted from paying attention to?

On another front…this might be worth researching to see if it’s true or not:

So Chuck, is everyone who mentions all of McSh*tbag’s lies and gross misrepresentations, or his flip-flops in the “Obamedia”. When are they going to talk about his disgraceful and dishonest involvement in the S&L scandal, which is so very relevant at this time. Instead of this bullsh*t bailout, we should seize the assets of all the utlrawealthy scumbags that were involved in this, and then shoot them in a big long firing squad. It’s been McLame’s media for the most parso far. He and his little whore Palin are the ones getting the free ride.

So, DaveM, errrr…. I mean Springer fan – are you going to come back here and recant when that turns out to be just more hate coming from the hate party (aka democrats) and contains not even one shred of truth???
