President Bush, Fed Chair Ben Bernancke, Congress Mulling Obvious Solution To Mortgage Crisis — Sell Your Homes And Land To Foreign Countries’ Banking Institutions
I, as has Congress, President Bush, and all of the “evil financial geniuses” in the wake of the largest financial crisis facing the American People since those good ole’ days called “The Great Depression”, have been mulling this whole thing over; searching for “THE answer”, and now The Politco is reporting “Team Bushco” and the “New Democratic Congress” may have discovered the obvious — “We may simply need to sell America to foreign countries now in order to maintain our lavish American lifestyles“. And hey, if one doesn’t care about this nation’s sovereignty, why not? It’s a great “quick fix”.
By no means am I a “financial genius”; in fact, just by reading this website and my personal writings here, one might arrive at the conclusion I feature an I.Q. of seventy, but it seems to me this just might be a great idea. That is, of course, unless you object to your leinholders mailing your bills to you with the Dutch, Swiss, Scottish or even Red Chinese flags prominently displayed at the top. And why would anybody mind their homes and acreage being technically owned by China, for example? At least you’ll get to stay there until China decides to call your debt suddenly due, correct? Sounds great to MOI. It takes us just one step closer to that “One World Order” our politicians have been trying to push us toward for decades and perhaps, it isn’t such a bad thing after all.
Just one point I’d like to make — if we allow our King President to ramrod this whole “bailout for irresponsible CEO’s” thing, we must play “fair” with those countries who shall now hold ownership over vast areas of our once-sovereign country. We should allow the Chinese, the Swiss, the Dutch and the countrymen and women of any other nation who holds ownership over the United States the right to vote in at least our General elections. It wouldn’t be fair to limit the votes directly affecting the livelihoods of these fellow world citizens to those who have purchased the leins of our once-American owned properties to we Americans who would be technically “subservient” to them, would it? If we do this, I am advocating the right to vote to any country who participates in this purchasing of America our fearless leaders on Capitol Hill appear to be saying is now a “necessity”.
As explained in The Politico article, Fed Chair Ben Bernanke is suggesting that EVENTUALLY, we should require these VICTIMS irresponsible CEO’s who are partially (along with our President and his “New Democratic” and “Old Republican” Congresses) to blame for this whole “mortgage crisis” mess to be held somewhat accountable, but we can’t go there just YET according to Benny Boy. Nope, we must FIRST sell America to foreign nations, THEN come back to the table to see if these soon-to-be bailed out CEO’s really do deserve their multi-billion-dollar paychecks — but hey — first things first, he says.
“Sub-Prime”? Hey, don’t blame anybody but ourselves — it was “Team America” who voted for the President and Vice President who gabbed and gabbed their way into office by pushing for their “Ownership Society” as they simultaneously gabbed and gabbed about how they were going to be holding white collar criminals in the corporations who run this Oligarchy of ours “accountable”. Now, we’ve seen how that turned out, haven’t we? Surprise, surprise — it turns out the Bush-Cheney team we appointed to the White House are up to their ears in white collar crime themselves along with all of their buddies in those “smoke-filled rooms” in Washington D.C. and Wall Street — ALL sides of the political divide represented.
Like a Thief In The Night — but this time around, Jesus isn’t anywhere in sight.
P.S. — Yes, I am indeed aware of the fact our politicians sold this country to the highest foreign bidders long ago…

My blogger roundup — skepticism at best from different sides: Damozel of Buck Naked Politics offers a heckuva roundup of her own; Glenn Greenwald of Salon chastises and Democrats for going along with the Bush-Cheney scam; Prairie Weather asks why there is no debate going on by Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid; John Cole of Balloon Juice points out the hypocrisy with an interesting analogy; The Anonymous Liberal, as with all others in this roundup of mine takes a much more thoughtful approach to the issue minus the sarcasm and satire found at The GTL™

I propose that we start a new benefits program for Senators and congressmen who serve longer then 12 years.
Anyone who retires or is defeated after 12 years in office will be sent Immediately to the state prison of their choice where they will write upon the black board 1 billion times……I will never spend more money then I make the rest of my life.
Thanks for your time.
Hmmmm…..sounds like the rejected Gore Doctrine, or the proposed Obama Doctrine.
Oh, wait. Those were for GIVING away our nation. Silly me.
Yes, silly you. That’s if silly means making baseless assertions with a cynical tone.
GTL said “if we allow our King President to ramrod this whole “bailout for irresponsible CEO’s” thing,”.
Hey buddy, since this thing is going to continue well into the next Presidents term, does this mean Sen. Obama if elected will bring this to a screeching halt? I mean, Sen. Obama couldn’t ever be for bailing out irresponsible CEO’s….could he?
I have to disagree with Fogg’s comment – Joe Lovell’s statements are accurate.
If you want to see what baseless assertions look like, the best place to look would be the lies that are being spread about Gov. Palin, as if lying about Gov. Palin and her record somehow makes Obama more qualified to be President than he actually is.
I am also curious as to how all the anti-war folks are able to reconcile the fact that Obama told the Iraqi government to delay the withdrawal of any U.S. troops until after the Presidential election in November. First of all, of course, his actions in this matter are crimes and he should be prosecuted for interfering with U.S. government business. Second, he is a two-faced liar for claiming to be in favor of pulling our troops out of Iraq while telling the Iraqis to wait until after the election. Anyone who would pull that kind of crap in order to win an election is lower than dirt.
Yeah, that’s your Barack Obama for you.
FandB, speaking of two faced liars whatever happened to Bush and Cheney? The media is so busy chasing McCains two faced Caribou express that they’ve forgotten all about them! BTW loved the way they pulled Palin from going to California so she can “meet” with the heads of state at the UN. I guess just like knowing foreign affairs because she can see Russia from her house she will now be able to talk about her experience with heads of state. Woo Hoo sort of like her tour of europe and the middle east because she flew near the countries. Who are the liars again????
Nobody can bring three or four trillion dollars of debt to a screeching halt – at least without devaluing the currency to the point where we have $20/gallon gas and a third of the country at the starvation level. I’m not convinced that it’s possible to save the USA in any form resembling what it used to be.
Lies about Palin? That’s pretty hard to do. I suggest you made up your mind without doing any research because it’s pretty hard to find anything true in any of her statements. Even Fox and the WSJ have discredited every claim she has made. She thinks it’s worth a nuclear war with Russia to settle a border dispute with Georgia! She believes in witches – I think that’s the only true statement so far, but who cares what you believe? It’s not her howling ignorance, her obvious inexperience with life in the lower 48, but even her basic dishonesty and massive mediocrity are less frightening than her “war is God’s will” attitude.
Sure, I’m not going to convince anyone so deranged as to support her, any more than I can teach theoretical physics to a moose, and I don’t care to try. The economic debacle these liars and scoundrels will bring isn’t going to hurt me and I have dual citizenship. It’s you who will suffer and if you vote for that demented duo, you’ll deserve it.
Thanks Left Coast and Capt. Fogg, you both illustrated my point perfectly.
Ah, the politics of deception. You gotta love it!
BTW, Capt. Fogg, in addition to a degree in Business and an MBA, I majored in Physics at the University of Chicago and I do have a reasonably thorough understanding of theoretical physics. Do you?

So you’re good at school? The unibomber was pretty smart too but he is still insane. I have a a Masters as well but I’m pretty sure you’d still say I was full of crap.
So far I’ve been good at everything I’ve done
You’re welcome fandb, you’ve illustrated your own point very well — and mine too.
Amir Taheri, the right wing Iranian ‘journalist’ with even less credibility than you have, seems to have invented that Obama story. The Iraqis want us out by 2010 and announced that long before Obama went there, so it makes no sense for him to push for 2011, does it? Of course the right wing media and the losers who read it will believe anything, quod erat demonstrandum. This smorgasbord of lies is kind of like a Hustler Magazine for guys who can’t get laid.
Guess what, Obama isn’t a Muslim either and he really was born in the US. There aren’t any witches. Sarah didn’t say “thanks but no thanks” or even give the money back. She didn’t sell the jet at a profit on eBay or go to Iraq. Alaska doesn’t supply 20% of our oil and she set a record for earmarks – that’s right, the earmark queen and the Alzheimer kid lied about it with a big, cheap smile.
Left coast,
No, I’m a retired investor with experience in electrical engineering who gets a great deal of amusement out of being lectured to by people who assume I’m as much of a nobody as they are. No, I don’t have an MBA, I’m quite sure I never would have arrived at where I am if I did.
I have a recreational interest in many things, including physics, if that makes any sense. Other than that, what’s the use in describing myself in a place where everyone invents a straw man and pins your name on it? You can’t convince an idiot that he is one, but sooner or later, and even if he blames in on witches or hook nosed Liberals, he will pay the same price as nearly all Americans will. I’ll be able to laugh, but of course grief for my country will prevent it.
Typical democrat claptrap – if you don’t like the facts being presented, resort to personal attacks (2 in your last 2 posts). Discussion over.
I’d better stop here anyway, my gorgeous wife of over twenty years would probably disapprove of the Hustler comments.

“Amir Taheri, the right wing Iranian ‘journalist’ with even less credibility than you have,” – Amir Taheri writes for the New York Post, and he happens to have been born in Iran (sort of like how Obama was raised in Indonesia). Another LIE and another JAB, eh Capt. Fogg, is that all you’ve got??? Lies and personal attacks? That’s a shame.
The “negotiation” was confirmed (inadvertantly) by Wendy Morigi, a spokesperson for Obama, and by Obama himself when he admitted that he told the Iraqis they should not rush through a “Strategic Framework Agreement” governing the future of U.S. troops until after President Bush leaves office (reported by the Associated Press). So, it may not make sense to you, but it did happen. Obama even tried to exert additional pressure by indicating that the next administration would not be bound by agreements made by the Bush Administration.
“by people who assume I’m as much of a nobody as they are … can’t convince an idiot that he is one” – So, now I get it, duh, you view yourself as one of those ELITE liberals, and anyone who doesn’t agree with your point of view is an idiot. You can’t support your position with facts, so you resort to lies and attacks.
Yeah, there’s your Obama for you, and there’s one of his supporters.
Q.E.D.
A simple question FandB. Since it is obvious how much you dislike Obama and anyone who might support him, why is it you think McCain will be such a great president with Palin at his side? With rhetoric and vitriol towards Obama absent, convince me why I should vote for McCain Palin.
Yes, lies and personal attacks, that’s what anything I say would be because so far all we’ve had from you are lies and personal attacks. I don’t care if you studied with Einstein – I don’t have to be a physicist to recognize a p-brane.
The fact is that you rabidly uphold anything negative said about Obama while you ignore the irrefutable fact that Palin has lied about virtually everything she has said – you don’t even pretend to address that, but you’re happy to play a victim, aren’t you. Poor little victim of the elitists. Can’t defend yourself against the elitists, even with all your degrees from expensive schools – at least not without all the standard crap from the playbook.
Sure, tell us why Ms Palin is honest when she says she doesn’t accept earmarks and is the most capable person to be President of the US.
Yes, I know – elitist elitist! Liberal Liberaliberal!
Left Coast, I’ll do that some time on another thread, this one has become rather distasteful.
Capt. Fogg, funny thing is, you also are doing everything you accuse me of doing except from the other side of the aisle – but I’m sure you can’t see that through your rose-bama colored glasses. I do not, however, view myself as a victim. Not of you or anyone else – I have never been a victim. People can pretend to be elitist all they want, it doesn’t affect me. I believe completely in personal accountability and responsibility and I practice what I preach, unlike like most elitist liberal snobs who want to tell everyone else how to be, but have a different set of standards for themselves. Typical.
Oh, I get it, p-brane, pea brain. You’re trying to show off how much you know about physics now, aren’t you? Good job!
I thought you’d appreciate the little physics joke and why would I try to impress someone like you? I’m sure you’d have degrees to suit any topic and degrees are very important to being important. I’ll save the Calabi-Yau pretzel gag for someone more appreciative – maybe a Northwestern grad. Better school, doncha know.
Of course you’re a victim. It’s the basic battle plan of the McCain/Palin ticket. Otherwise why would you care if I thought your candidate was less qualified than Zippy the wonder chimp or that your hyperbolic accusations of treason were a rationalization for something else? Why would you be so furious about being contradicted? If you weren’t a victim, you could just issue some condescending fatwa of something like “elitism” and ignore me. Oh – wait. . .
Prejudice. That’s how hundred million dollar McCain with his jet and houses and fleet of cars and network of lobbyists is not an elitist, but Obama is. That’s why I’m an elitist for being as rich as the non-elitist but much richer than the elitist. That’s how an unbroken record of deception by Palin and the Republicans is trivial and some bit of contrived slander about someone you hate for your own reasons is graven in stone by the hand of God.
It’s just empty outrage and tactical hyperbole on your part. Of course you’d rather leave than answer for it.
If you couldn’t make it distasteful you’d have to actually support your assertions with something more than waving dubious diplomas, citing scurrilous websites and making accusations of “elitism” and treason. You’d have to answer questions about why lies aren’t lies when you like the liar. You’d have to risk someone having you by the hadrons. (oops)
Bluster your way out of it. I don’t care.
Northwestern a better school? Not likely.
I am not ‘furious’ about anything, and I hope I didn’t sound that way.
How is it that you have come to the conclusion that McCain is less qualified than ‘Zippy the wonder chimp’??? Any sane, rational person can see that he is a great deal more qualified than Obama. Even Bill Clinton asserts that McCain is qualified and ready to be President.
“an unbroken record of deception by Palin and the Republicans is trivial and some bit of contrived slander about someone you hate for your own reasons is graven in stone” – Again, you are taking the same position from the other side of the aisle. You believe all the contrived slander about McCain and Palin while completely overlooking Obama’s unbroken record of deception, inaction, and poor judgement.
I haven’t left. If I do it will be the result of boring and childish personal attacks rather than any informed discussion that may or may not occur.
“…waving dubious diplomas, citing scurrilous websites …” Dubious diplomas, hmmmm… well, that’s up to you, believe whatever you want. What “scurrilous web sites” did I cite?
Elitism has more to do with attitude and state of mind than size of bank account or number of houses. Oh, but you should already know that, since, as you said, you’re so much more important than I am.
“Any sane, rational person can see that he is a great deal more qualified than Obama.”
So everyone on the left is insane?
Albert Einstein defined insanity as doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results. The GOP policies of the last few generations have been the biggest failures in American history. Other than fighting for the second Amendment, everything they do is wrong and doesn’t work and sane people know it. Thinking that McBush will somehow bring change truly is insanity.
Tennis anyone?
Welllll, look where the top MBA banana got us, eh??!!
Sane and rational? That sounds like Fair and balanced, doesn’t it, but it isn’t about me, even though I am indeed more important. What I’m telling you is that I’m well off enough that I don’t have to work – haven’t had to for a long time and I became financially independent by knowing a bit about monetary matters. If that sounds elitist, why then I’m so sorry, but I get tired of Republicans pretending to be financial geniuses while punching a time clock. It isn’t about having an MBA or not having an MBA either – Bush has one, doesn’t he? I’ve hired dozens and fired a few.
You don’t seem to want to acknowledge McCain’s established mendacity – he’s for whatever it is you want to hear and against it at the same time: the war, the surge, the bailout. Everyone else is aware of it. Ignoring it takes a huge effort, what with every reputable news source attesting to it. I have to credit you for that. Few sane men would have the stamina.
And then there’s Palin – statistically the most likely VP to become president we’ve every had. Any sane and rational person sees what a liar and pretender and incompetent she is. Her own handlers know and that’s why the media are kept away from her by claiming she’s a “victim.” You apparently agree.
But again, it’s still not about any of this – it’s about having the audacity to tell us how Obama wants to endanger the troops while anti-surge/pro-surge, 100 year occupation, bomb-bomb Iran McCain is the GI’s best friend. How do you expect to get any respect with Shinola like that all over your shoes?
The facts are what they are and the facts include that you can’t win an argument with a drunk, a communist or a Republican. Why should I try?
Tschüss, Kamarad
I friggin’ LOVE this place — I didn’t even have to step in as the “word cop” and you two (FandB and Capt. Fogg) managed to steer the conversation back to the issues where they belong minus personal attacks…
Way to go, my friends!
“I’m well off enough that I don’t have to work – haven’t had to for a long time and I became financially independent by knowing a bit about monetary matters” – Oh my, I am so impressed!!! (ROFLMFAO) What a dip!
“even though I am indeed more important” – (ROFLMFAO again only harder this time), ahem, regaining my composure… OK dude, if you REALLY BELIEVE THAT, you can have the last word, and I think this subject has been beat to death. Although considering how important you THINK you are, you should have already convinced a great number of people.
Both Obama and McCain support the bailout, not just President Bush. Why aren’t you frying them as well?
Are you zoltan from Circle of Iron? If so, I’ve never met anyone who has even seen that movie.
No, I’m zoltan from a lame Gilmore Girls joke. Never seen Circle of Iron but judging from its IMDB profile it looks like you got Christopher Lee’s character of “Zetan” mistaken for me.
Yeah, my mistake, I haven’t seen the movie for about 25 years. It was one of those really bad kung fu movies – so bad it was good – sort of. David Carradine played most of the characters himself.
