As long-time readers already know, I’ve always been a HUGE fan of ambulance chasers John Edwards‘ and you’ve got to give the man credit where credit’s due for having the GUTS to step up and admit to all of the above charges; charges, which were first brought up by The National Enquirer almost a year ago.
Due to the recently-aired damning photos of John Edwards holding his beautiful love child, ABC News‘ Rhonda Schwartz and Brian Ross, anxious to get to the bottom of it all, were eager to dig deeper into the allegations and confront Mr. Edwards who was not only willing, but grateful for the opportunity to step up to the plate and accept FULL responsibility for his “mistake”…
SO, FRANCES — WHO’S YA’ DADDY?
OOPS — my bad. I missed something in the ABC News article the first time I read it, but after re-reading it, it appears John Edwards is actually insisting the beautiful baby -slash- “love child”, Frances Quinn Hunter, belongs Rielle Hunter and his former campaign aide, Andrew Young, however; the rest of the story is completely true. Hmm. Are the two men (Young and Edwards) trying to insinuate Ms. Hunter was their “boy toy” or “rag doll” here? DOUBTFUL, considering the stellar reputations of all of the “players” in the “game” — doubtful, but possible, I suppose. That is, if one were willing to step way out on a limb to jump to unnecessary conclusions. That said…
If both guys were boffing making love, sweet love to Ms. Hunter during the failed Edwards campaign, how would anybody know for certain whether or not the father was John Edwards, Andrew Young, or even Vice President Dick “Shotgun” Cheney for that matter? There are, after all, “rumors” floating all around Capitol Hill that the latter might be a possiblity, by the way. Not saying I concur; just saying it’s “floating around” and there IS some circumstantial evidence worthy of mention…
SHOCKING EVIDENCE THE FATHER MIGHT BE OUR VICE PRESIDENT AND INCREDIBLY IRRESPONSIBLE GUN OWNER:
ANOTHER GTL™ “OOPS!”
You see, in my earlier coverage of this story, I mistakenly ASSUMED “Frances”, the love child of the Edwards-Young-Cheney “quadst” (Is that a word? “tryst” means three in a love-triangle, correct?) was a MALE child based purely upon the slightly masculine features evident in the (above) clarified National Enquirer photo above — thanks to the trusty “clarify” feature available to me in Paint Shop Pro X.
Of course, my sincerest, heartfelt apologies go out to whichever one of the three “distinguished” gentlemen in question is the REAL father and to Ms. Hunter for a comment I made in my coverage of The National Enquirer story and the blurry photo a couple of days ago (the photo I was the FIRST to clarify, by the way) — an embarrassing “snip”:
“… As for the baby boy — what a great looking kid! But then again, we would expect no less from the Democratic Casanova, would we? …”
Again — I apologize from the bottom of my heart for the gender mistake the other day. It’s just that I’ve known many more boys named “Frances” than I have known girls with that name — personally speaking, of course. And, I just KNOW little Ms. Hunter will grow up to be a beautiful young lady someday…

Somebody posting by the handle, Elizabe The Dwards (first name most likely pronounced: “ella-zah-bee“?) over at The Daily Kos has this to say (just some “snips“):

While I’m not sure who this “Elizabe The Dwards” is, I think she speaks for most American families, including my own, who have been BLINDSIDED by the negative press our hero, John Edwards, has received from the mainstream media, the blogosphere and, of course, The National Enquirer. We must be strong, my friends, during this time of healing and my hat is off to Mr. or Ms. Dwards for her VERY eloquently-written piece…

This story would be long forgotten by now had JE (Douche Bag 1st Class) confessed the whole thing, like any sane person would have. But now that he’s (inexplicably & moronically) dangling this denial about fatherhood out there, we’ve got guaranteed DNA drama through the democratic convention. *Yea!* And there’s NO WAY they’re stupid enough to let this jackass open his pie-hole in front of one of their microphones.

It IS sad. Don’t get me wrong. But don’t waste all your Kleenex on his wife & kids. Elizabeth Edwards knows damn well what she married. Just the same as Hillary made her tragic deal with the devil so many years ago. But the butcher’s bill inevitably comes due, doesn’t it.
I doubt this is any surprise to Elizabeth. The money & attention all felt so good she was willing to write off this (these) indiscretion(s).
…because this IS the 1st time he’s ever cheated on her… Honest Injun’!
Only his kids (+1 now) are the real victims. But I suspect they know who their father really was already. It’s like the kid of some famous alcoholic who beat them every day, but still managed to pop them up in front of cameras whenever he needed a ‘Leave it to Beaver’ photoshot.

I hate to think that I’m actually going to defend John Edwards here but here I go. His personal life and the mistakes he makes in that part of his life are his own. Who the hell are we to pass judgement on him for whatever he has done privately in his life. This battle is out of the newspapers and the blogs and between his wife and he. It is a private matter now that he is no longer or will never be a credible candidate for President. End of discussion!

Exactly. His personal life is just that; personal. Yes, he’s sleazy. Yes, he made a huge mistake and lied about it. Yes, he’s somewhat of a horrible, horrible man. But it’s a personal matter. We shouldn’t let his political ideas die because of this personal affair. We need new leaders to take up his causes!

While I do think these cretins need to be exposed for their misdeeds, if only to shine a light on their character, at that point the job is done. We don’t need 5 weeks of sordid details to remind us. I don’t share y’all lefties affection for his ideas, but for the love of God, leave the man and his family alone. Of course, OTOH, it was the incessant coverage of Pres. Clintons’ indiscretion that helped me lose my Clinton Derangement Syndrome. Turned out he was simply another flawed human being and not the Anti-Christ.

Gosh, I don’t know? The American electorate? Ya’ know, the people who until recently were vetting as a presidential candidate? John Edwards, who until two weeks ago, was being seriously considered for VP, Attorney General, Health & Human Services, possible Supreme Court nominee?

Ok..I think some of you are losing sight of the issue here. It has somehow got lost in the fog. Mr. John Edwards lied while running for President of the United States of America about his affair. This is a severe character flaw..cheating …lying..and we as Americans have the right to know the character of the men and women running for our highest offices..Character my friends..that is the issue..and the topic that started this conversation..He is a complete and utter sleaze…
