Would-Be President And First Lady McCain Quickly Write A Check When Caught By The Authorities; $1,742.00 In Taxes Remain Unpaid And Overdue
While I understand taxes, I despise taxes and hate paying them when I feel I’m not getting a bang for my buck. MANY of us feel that way. On the other hand, if I were to run for the presidency like Señor Panama John McCain has, I think I’d find a way to make damned certain they were paid in full.
Either that, or I’d take the opposite approach and say something to the order of, “Damned RIGHT I didn’t pay those property taxes and I ain’t gonna. It’s highway robbery and I’m not gettin’ my bang for the buck. Folks, this is exactly what is wrong with America. ” But that’s not the way Cindy and Panama John McCain chose to deal with a lawfully issued tax bill for the McCains… at all. Instead of choosing to pay their tax bills or legally dispute them, the McCain’s chose to simply toss them into the garbage can. OOPS. Can we say, “ILLEGAL“?

Mrs. McCain, San Diego County Would Like a WordBy Suzanne Smalley, Andrew Murr, Mark Hosenball and Nathan Dinsdale
When you’re poor, it can be hard to pay the bills. When you’re rich, it’s hard to keep track of all the bills that need paying. It’s a lesson Cindy McCain learned the hard way when NEWSWEEK raised questions about an overdue property-tax bill on a La Jolla, Calif., property owned by a trust that she oversees. Mrs. McCain is a beer heiress with an estimated $100 million fortune and, along with her husband, she owns at least seven properties, including condos in California and Arizona.
San Diego County officials, it turns out, have been sending out tax notices on the La Jolla property, an oceanfront condo, for four years without receiving a response. County records show the bills, which were mailed to a Phoenix address associated with Mrs. McCain’s trust, were returned by the post office. …”
Snip –
“… after NEWSWEEK inquired about the matter, the McCain aide e-mailed a receipt dated Friday, June 27, confirming payment by the trust to San Diego County in the amount of $6,744.42. County officials say the trust still owes an additional $1,742 for this year, an amount that is overdue… “
Snip –
“… Dan McAllister, treasurer- tax collector for San Diego County, said that about 3 percent of San Diego’s approximately 1 million property owners default on their property taxes each year. …”
Snip –
… “We do hear an awful lot of excuses for why people don’t pay,” McAllister said. …”
ANY excuse will do, Mr. And Mrs. McCain. Just because Señor McCain wasn’t born on U.S. Soil doesn’t mean he gets a “pass” when it comes to financing our government’s ambitious projects, Sir and Ma’am.

Huh??? La Jolla Shores beachfront property – even small condo’s – is well into the millions. Even if the McCain’s bought many years ago – even before Prop. 13 – their property taxes have to be many times that amount….. unless something is very “fishy”.
Some scandal… they never got the bills. When they did, they paid them. If they were democrats, they’d be hollering for a property tax bailout package and holding hearings to blame Bush for the post office screwup.
