Barack Obama Simply Ran A Better Campaign, Says Mark Penn

I know, I know — Everybody else has been writing their obituaries in the last few days for Her Royal Highness’, Sir Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton’s failed campaign, so I might as well gleefully join my fellow “Hill-hating” buzzards in circling over Her Royal Carcass as well. Why? It just FEELS good; that’s all I can give you at this moment.

She’s DONE. D-O-N-E, DONE, and one can only hope Barack Obama has the guts to stick to his guns and avoid adopting Hillary Diane Rodham as his vice presidential nominee. Despite the FACT She feels “entitled” to such power, she should never be allowed to preside over the American People, much less the Senate. As Dick “Shotgun” Cheney has proven; a dangerous, egotistical, self-serving, vain, power-hungry jackass with a criminal mentality “serving” in the capacity of the “Vice President Of The United States Of America” can lead to massive deaths and disasters, not to mention high crimes and misdemeanors — and that is the last vehicle Sir Hillary needs to park Her Royal Butt in. Stick to your guns and better instincts, Mr. Obama, for God’s Sake…

A couple of “snips” from Mark Penn’s Sir Hillary Obituary in today’s New York Times Op-Ed piece:

The Problem Wasn’t the Message — It Was the Money

By MARK PENN

Hillary Clinton advisers claim the main reason she lost to Barack Obama was because of her campaign debt -- Message to Mark Penn -- it wasnPerhaps the most frustrating part of losing a close race is thinking about what else you could have done to win. You replay the campaign over and over again in your head. As an adviser to Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, I sure do. …”

(Snip!)

“… she had no message; she ran just on experience; she should have shown more of her warmer side; she was too negative; President Clinton’s campaigning hurt her; and she presented herself as inevitable. It is amazing she got any votes at all. …”

(Snip!)

“… Experience was a major part of the campaign message, but far from the only one. …”

(Snip!)

“… And sometimes your opponent just runs a good campaign. …”

Hmm… “experience”… “inevitable”… Let’s talk about those two points for a moment, shall we?

I cannot agree more with the “inevitable” part, so let’s start there. Sir Hillary Diane Rodham Clinton shoved Her Royal Self down everybody’s collective throat; rightly or wrongly, coming across to the American People as our ONLY choice. She “deserved” the presidency; She was born to inherit Her Royal Throne; She was “smarter” than everybody else; She knew what was good for everybody else and was rightfully entitled to rule the masses; Her Royal DNA was unflawed and anybody who couldn’t see all of the above needed to have their eyes checked, if not their brains. THAT was Her Royal Presentation to We, The People, and thank God, we didn’t make the purchase. It’s no small point at all to make mention of the fact we’d not even know who in the hell this woman was if she hadn’t have married a guy named “Bill” either.

“Experience”? Again, I ask — WHAT “experience”? I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t give a hoot HOW many times you’ve watched open heart surgery being performed on television; you’re NOT qualified to take a scalpel to MY chest, Sir. A worthless analogy? Hardly. It’s the Truth with a capital “T” on purpose.

And now, the pundits are talking about a Hillary vice presidency. Forget my earlier point about what happens when [ahem... "alleged"] criminals are appointed to the seat those who “served” in that capacity before him had previously demonstrated to be “irrelevant”. Forget the fact we now know better than that — lesson learned. Instead, let us simply peer through the hype behind Hillary Clinton and see her for what she really is and what Her next “inevitable” Royal appointment SHOULD be, according to Her.

She is nothing more than a “newbie” Senator, hugely overinflated, and far from qualified to be the president of the Senate. How on Earth can anybody who demonstrates critical thinking skills believe a “newbie” Senator is qualified to preside over Her MUCH more “experienced” (yep — that word again) peers is beyond me. Should you disagree, I suggest you wave your hands in front of you and clear the proverbial “smoke” from your view and LOOK DEEPLY through the (two-way) “mirrors”. See it yet Keep looking…

Yes, Sir, Mr. Penn — we agree the “problem” wasn’t the “message”. Where we differ is where YOU claim it was “the money“. I say the “problem” was the “messenger“.

Having watched her speech on Saturday it sounded like she was giving Obama full backing but she did hang out the magic number of 18 million supporters, almost as if she owned each and every vote. One of the biggest problems with Hillary as VP would be BILL! In the same respect I would have to say that the biggest pro reason to have her as a VP is BILL. Catch 22 so to speak.

If it takes Senator Clinton’s running as VP for Senator Obama to win, then I’ll take that over another four moreyear’s of Bush policies carried out by Senator McCain. We should get some idea in the coming weeks about whether Barack can get the Hillary voters without Hillary on the ticket. If he can’t, put her on the ticket. I don’t think she’s as bad as you gentlemen make her out to be. She’d make a better VP than Cheney has been; that’s for sure.
