Why Does The Mainstream Media And Talk Radio Give The Panamanian-Born U.S. Senator From Arizona, John McCain, A “Pass” For Claiming Taliban-Esque Pastor As “Spiritual Guide” While Insisting Upon Focusing On The “Obama Versus Jeremiah Wright” Debacle?
It’s a fair enough question, isn’t it? THINK about it, for crying out loud. While the G.O.P. has succeeded in keeping the allegations of Democratic corruption and “guilt by association” at the forefront of the so-called “Left-Wing Media”, and as always; the “oh-so advanced and superior-brained” Democrats eat it up, hook. line and SINKER. If you take a glance at The New York Times (Courtesy of MemeOrandum), it’s ALL ABOUT “Jeremiah Wright Versus Barack Obama”. Meanwhile, ole’ “Panama John’s” got a bit of “splainin’” to do for himself; yet — NOBODY’s holding the man accountable for a few VERY important ALARMING facts:
“Panama John’s” OWN so-called “Spiritual Adviser”, Reverend Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church of Columbus, has blamed Hurricane Katrina on gay parades in New Orleans and has gone on the record to claim America was founded to wipe out Islam (Source: Mother Jones). John McCain has THUS far, REFUSED to distance himself from those fanatic points of view, unlike Barack Obama, who HAS distanced himself from “Jerry” Wright. Therefore, we MUST assume Senior McCain agrees with his declared “Spiritual Adviser”… As a “victim” of his own draconian “McCain-Feingold” (so-called) “Campaign Finance Reform Act”, he has exploited EVERY possible loophole available to him, even if there were only one or two words in the multi-thousand page document to keep the handcuffs off of his wrists. For example, using his own private jet at DEEP DISCOUNTS despite the OBVIOUS fact it was unethical if not ["technically"] illegal… His recent STIFFING of a publicly-owned venue in Homewood, Alabama, while in cahoots with the local city mayor, to rent a building for a FRACTION of the going rate. Both the mayor AND “Panama John” were caught red-handed (Source: FoxNews) and the mayor is begging and pleading for John McCain to pay the difference between the going rate and what he was actually CHARGED; post-fact. “Johnny Boy”, thus far, refuses to return his frantic calls and the Homewood, Alabama mayor is considering paying the missing money out of his own paycheck…
So, HEY — all of this has been going on behind the backs of the bloggers and the MSM while they all argue whether or not Barack Obama is a “Black Archie Bunker” like his former pastor OBVIOUSLY is. As IF, we all know what our “spiritual advisers” are up to behind the scenes and after the sermons. As a man who was born and raised Catholic, I can say with certainty — not ALL parrisioners actually have any idea in HELL what their “Holy Men” are up to when the pews are empty. There ya go; chomp on THAT one, why don’t you?
If you think for ONE MOMENT, “Panama John” lacks a “skeleton” or two in his closet, you’d better think AGAIN. The man’s been to war and he was captured as a POW. My hat’s off to him for that, and I sincerely do mean that. On the other hand, I’ve been to war, too, and I guaran-damned-TEE you — you do NOT want MOI to be YOUR “Leader Of The Free World”. I’ll never be the same again, and I wasn’t even captured and/or tortured by the enemy like “Panama John” was. God Bless him, but it is simply not POSSIBLE for the man to be even the slightest bit “normal”. Ask any other war veteran and unless they, like “The Sherrif”, are blinded by the G.O.P., they’ll wholeheartedly agree.
In closing — go ahead — doff your hats to the guy. But if you insist upon allowing him a “pass” and seeing the vision of a halo hovering over the man’s head, you’ll get EXACTLY what you deserve for it.

For shame GTL, holding the next American dictator accountable for his actions and associations. You better watch out…you might just get disappeared. The “Maverick” will surely get a pass on this issue,just like the one he received when lobbyists were whoring straight from the Straight Talk Express . Too much money is to be made with this war and the one still to come. The beneficiaries of these wars over at GE,Halliburton,and Congress etc…have yet to make enough money.
I have until 12Nov08 until my IRR time is up. The way this election is going so far makes me think that I should just head out to the garage,dust off my DCU’s and wait for that re-activation phone call.

I wouldn’t trust John McCain for a second. I’ve met a few Veterans and heard comments by others that still have some questions about what went on while John was a POW. I don’t remember ever hearing about Reverend Rod Parsley of the World Harvest Church. Now I’ve got something else to do. Great post.

I’m sorry but for your supposed moderate stance you don’t to be very even in the treatment of the truth here. Neither of the pastors mentions in relation to McCain (Hagee sp? and Parsley) were chosen by McCain…he did not go to their churches. They, like Farrakahn did for Obama, chose to endorse him on their own.
There is no parallel between the Rev. Wright/Obama situation and the one you mention or quote above. What you wrote was a lie…not misleading.
The issue with Wright is that Obama knew the man for 20 years and wants people to believe he knew nothing of his racist, bigoted, ignorant, divisive opinions…Obama thinks that people are stupid enough to believe that. I find that insulting, and I believe that Obama thinks a lot more like Wright than he’d ever admit, otherwise he would have left the church years ago.
