I’ve said it before, I’ll say it again — prostitution should, by ALL means, be LEGAL. Sex workers shouldn’t be labeled as ‘”criminals”, nor should their patrons. It’s the “world’s oldest profession” for good reason and it’s not going anywhere soon; live with it — it’s a fact of life. I don’t partake in this genuine industry in any way, shape, or form, but I UNDERSTAND it and, as a semi-capitalist, I see plenty of reasons for it to exist and thrive without government interference. Yet, I just LOVE to pounce on the hypocrites who prosecute those who thrive in the industry while being blatant, WILLING participants simultaneously. We MUST throw the proverbial “book” at this guy. Not for the fact he cheated on his wife with a hooker; for the fact he violated provisions of the USA Patriot Act; an “act” he backed publicly, as well as for the fact he, as the State of New York’s highest law enforcement officer, directly incarcerated many of his fellow Citizens for patronizing the same “bidness” he, himself patronized regularly. It’s inexcusable. No “country club” for this guy” — hard labor ONLY.
It’s that Darwinian behavior I’ve pointed out many times on this website; behavior most TYPICALLY demonstrated by “toe-tapping” Republicans, I’m referring to. In this case, we’re talking about a Democratic governor, BUT — for those of you who admire and bow down to the Patriot Act, letting this guy off the hook would hurt your cause GREATLY. If you allow Eliot Spitzer to “walk” without incarceration consequences, you must ALSO allow anybody named “Mullah Abdul Shiiicanni” to walk for those “suspicious wire transfers” the USA Patriot Act despises and directly targets.
Let’s take a gander at Eliot Spitzer’s “ho”, shall we? Five grand? NO WAY. A couple of drinks and a hope and a prayer? Perhaps…

Woman at the Center of Governor’s Downfall
She left a broken home on the Jersey Shore at 17 and came to New York City to work the nightclubs as a rhythm and blues singer. Now, at 22, she is the unwitting, and as yet unseen, star of the seamy drama that is the downfall of Gov. Eliot Spitzer of New York.
Kristen, the prostitute described in a federal affidavit as having had a rendezvous with Mr. Spitzer on Feb. 13 at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, has spent the last few days in her ninth-floor apartment in the Flatiron district of Manhattan. On Monday, she made a brief appearance in federal court, where a lawyer was appointed to represent her. She is expected to be a witness in the case against four people charged with operating a prostitution ring called the Emperor’s Club V.I.P.
In a series of telephone interviews on Tuesday night, she said she had slept very little over the past week, with all the stress of the case.
“I just don’t want to be thought of as a monster,” the woman said as she told the tiniest tidbits of her story. …”

I am in the adult industry.Except I work legally and pay my taxes on it.Here’s my take on this situation..Of course I believe prostitution should be legal everywhere.We’ve all heard the reasons why..If it’s regulated,the ladies will be tested one time a week for several STD’s,there will be security present to protect the women and the “Trick”,and the gov’t will get their money.

When people ask me why I chose this line of work I did say,”If I didn’t come from such a fucked up upbringing,I am sure I would have chose a different route.I went to college and got a degree and a career and I STILL work as a stripper.I have no sympathy for someone such as Miss Dupre’,who cries,”Poor me,I have an apt. that costs thousands of dollars a month and I can’t pay my rent.

You know you can be a stripper or porn actress if you are really that desperate.Then you are within the legal limits.If you are desperate and afraid of being homeless you can start off my moving out of Manahattan(One of the most expensive cities in the U.S. next to San Francisco and L.A.).Then you can find a roomate,and an apt. that costs a few hundred a month.I lived in the cities I just named for you and I have never paid more than $1000 a month for rent.And I lived alone some of those times.I don’t have to be a stripper because I have a career that can pay my bills.
