No “Gentlemanly” Congratulations From Sir Hillary Rodham Clinton To Barack For Recent Wins
Gone are the days — apparently — when one gentleman would congratulate another on a victory in American politics; particularly in the Democratic Party of 2007…
Clinton: Still no congratulations for Obama
EL PASO, Texas (CNN) – For the second election night in a row, Hillary Clinton failed to acknowledge or congratulate Barack Obama after he won the day in dominating fashion.
On Tuesday in El Paso, hours after Virginia had been called for Obama, she stuck to her “Texas campaign kickoff” message and did not stray from an energetic, Lone Star-themed stump speech. She did mention Obama by name, only to chide his health care plan.
On Saturday night in Richmond, Virginia, Clinton spoke to a crowd of thousands at the state’s annual Jefferson-Jackson dinner, but she ignored Obama’s quartet of blowout primary and caucus wins that day as well (Obama also won the Maine caucuses the next day).
The courtesy of conceding a primary or caucus loss — and then congratulating your opponent — is by no means required. But it has become standard practice during campaign season. …” – CNN Political Ticker
WOW… isn’t that rude…
Correct; no “gentlemanly” congrats from the former “First Black Co-President”; former Wal-Mart Director; former G.O.P. (Barry Goldwater campaign) activist to her “fellow” Democratic foe. Of course, she may just be a little “grumpy” these days with her campaign falling apart at the seams (source: Washington Post)….
Clinton’s Deputy Campaign Manager Steps Aside
Mike Henry, deputy campaign manager for
Sen.Sir Hillary Rodham Clinton (N.Y.) has resigned, according to a source familiar with the decision.Henry tendered his resignation yesterday morning but worked the last two days on a volunteer basis. His departure is not entirely unexpected, as he was brought into the campaign by Patti Solis Doyle, who stepped down on Sunday. …” [strikethrough, mine]
Poor, poor Hillary — whatever happened to manners and loyalty? They’re dropping like flies in the hostile working environment known as the “Hillary For President Campaign 2008″ these days. “Comeback”? Possible; hardly likely though, in my not-so-humble opinion. Furthermore; let this serve as a hard lesson to ANYBODY who was daft enough to fall for the old “Hillary’s a nice person” routine…
Hillary: the end is NEAR. Just be a gentleman about it and save face for a 2012 run. Perhaps, by then, you’ll learn how to ACT more “likeable”.

The problem for Clinton is the problem she has had since the start of her campaign. Her negatives are too high and it is impossible for her to get much above 50%. And what’s damning is that if she hasn’t been able to lower her negatives by now, she’s not going to. It’s not her fault, she’d probably be a great candidate on her own but there is simply too much baggage from the previous Clinton administration to overcome.
I just hope she and the party superdelegates acknowledge this before too much damage is done. Tearing the party apart to squeak out a tiny delegate win is a recipe for disaster.
I thought the republicans had trouble posting a decent candidate this year, but the only choice the democrats have is between Hillary and the anti-christ Obama. You get to sell your soul to Socialism or satan. That’s a tough choice.
“former G.O.P. (Barry Goldwater campaign) activist” – Come on now, you can do better than that, she was like 13 or 14 years old at that time. Are you the same person you were at 14???
(dang, had to apply Stokes Theorem to get past that spam blocker!)
F&B: I don’t understand calling Obama the “anti christ.” What’s that about?
Buffalo – he just is, that’s all.
So many anti-christ references have been made about him already, when I heard him say the following I thought WTF?
“As I see it, you can’t have lasting peace without Satan’s cooperation [...] We can’t keep following the failed Bush administration strategy of only talking with our allies. I’m willing to invest the time to find out if we have something the Devil wants that could bring an end to war and strife.”
Just enough doubt to keep me off his bandwagon for sure.
F&B: Thanks. I have pretty much removed myself from the election frey in an effort to lower my blood pressure and preserve what little sanity I have left. Hadn’t heard him called that and it didn’t seem to make sense.
I don’t think any of the candidates are presidential material. In my opinion Obama is the best bet of the lot.
I’m a whole lot more concerned about our vanishing freedom.
F&B: Anti-Christ? All the candidates are saying pretty much the same things abot uniting america. The difference is, people believe he actually can bring the country together. He’s not unlike Ronald Reagan in that sense. It’s just that people likd you need the partisan bickering to give your life meaning. Sad, really.
Anti-Christ? Why not call him a leprechaun or a unicorn? Such ridiculous superstitious pap. Do you believe in the Easter Buffy too?
Darian: “It’s just that people likd you need the partisan bickering to give your life meaning”; give my life meaning??? You know nothing about me yet you feel somehow entitled to attack me personally for my political views… In my book, people who stoop to that level are worthless idiots.
Sorry, NOTHING like Ronald Reagan. Reagan was an experienced executive with a vision and a plan. All Obama (the anti-christ) has is EMPTY RHETORIC.
And, no, I don’t believe in the “Easter Buffy”, do you?
F&B: Antichrist??? LOLOLOL!!!!!! You beleive in the boogey man too??? IS Obama gonna crawl from underneath your bed and get you? You sleep with the light on at night? You are entitled to your beleifs, but PLEASE GOD DO NOT PROCREATE. F&B: Best arguement for keeping aborttion legal and safe.
