First Vote Count In New Hampshire Primary: Barack Obama – 7, Hillary Clinton – 0

No, that is NOT a first quarter football score where the team who won the toss scores a touchdown on the first possession; it’s more like a 49-0 ROUT in progress in the first half. Yes, I realize we are only talking about one little town in New Hampshire with 99.99% of the votes yet to be casted and counted, but we are also talking about a state with an official motto of “Live Free Or Die“; an anti-authoritarian state if there ever was one.

Don’t get me wrong — Barry Obama is an authoritarian, too — he would LOVE to impose his “Utopia” on the rest of us. Sir Hillary Rodham Clinton, on the other hand, would probably double the prison population by the end of Her Royal Reign by imposing her own “Nanny State”, authoritarian, “Big Brother” version of “Utopia” upon Her countrymen and women Royal Subjects.

The point IS — New Hampshire traditionally loves liberty; hates tyranny — always has. If things change by the end of the primary and New Hampshire elects somebody who runs around the country, sounding like a pissed off “mommy” on a rant while in hot pursuit of a bunch of “naughty little butts” who need a-spankin’; I’ll eat my words. I just don’t see that happening though, do you?

Oh, and if Gloria Steinem wishes to label me a “sexist” (source: NYT) for that last observation, she can STUFF IT. I’d vote for (Libertarian – Alabama) activist Loretta Nall for president ANY day of the week. Unfortunately, she didn’t toss her hat into the ring. Maybe next time, Loretta? Pretty please? With sugar on top?

Anyhoo — CNN has the latest scoop on the New Hampshire primary:

First votes counted in New Hampshire primary

DIXVILLE NOTCH, New Hampshire (CNN) — Voters in two New Hampshire hamlets cast their ballots Tuesday just after midnight in the state’s first-in-the-nation presidential primary, hours before the rest of the state’s polling places open.

First votes have been tallied in New Hampshire primary -- Barack Obama 7 - Hillary Clinton 0...The first ballots were cast in Dixville Notch, a hamlet of about 75 near the Canadian border.

People there favored Sen. John McCain in the Republican primary — he got four votes — and Sen. Barack Obama in the Democratic contest, who won seven votes.

Obama and McCain also won in midnight voting in Hart’s Location, population 42. The two senators hope to see those results duplicated statewide by the time all the votes are cast.

The last polls close at 8 p.m. …”

Lots of time to go and another half a million votes to be casted and tallied, BUT, don’t look for too much of a deviation from the Dixville Notch results when the final tallies are in. The Republican candidate with the least amount of the “Police State” virus coursing through his veins should prevail on the GOP side of the aisle and the Democratic candidate with the least amount of the “Nanny State” infection should lead the Donkeys at the end of the day…

It’s just a “New Hampshire” thing after all.

UPDATE: Looks like Andrew Sullivan of The Daily Dish is equally impressed with Gloria Steinem’s attempt to bring the “gender” thing into this one (H/T to our friends at RealClearPolitics)…
