It’s not going to work, Hill. You’ve been trying to recreate yourself in the public eye for years and years and the public sees you for exactly whom you really are — cold, calculating, and a frighteningly power hungry authoritarian neoconservative and it hasn’t worked thus far and it will not work in the near future either.

Let me pose a question: would anybody know who this person was had she never met Bill? What are her REAL qualifications to be our next president of the United States Of America anyway? I’ve heard her speak of her “experience” in the Oval Office. Again — PUH-LEEZ. So she watched a president preside and that now qualifies her to preside? I once watched a surgeon perform open heart surgery on the Discovery Channel and I assure you — you do NOT want to hand a scalpel to me either…
Ain’t gonna work, Ma’am. Even the sheeple won’t buy this one.

Ya know, when it was revealed that Karl Rove was not actually an evangelical despite all the pandering to that part of the Republican base, I think it was Kevin Drum that made a very interesting observation. That Rove is a purely political entity, that for him it didn’t really matter which side of the aisle he was on, just that his side won.
That he was a Republican was only a matter of fate, and had the Democrats gotten to him first, he may be pulling the same dirty tricks for the Democratic Party.
The more I look at her, the more I think that Hillary Clinton is the Democratic Karl Rove. As you point out, she was a Goldwater activist but married a Democrat who became president. Had Bill never happened, it’s quite possible she would still be pulling for the other side, but here we are.
