Just a few weeks to go ’til the Iowa Caucasus and it looks like it’s still Barack Obama versus Mike Huckabee, although anything can happen at this point — up to and including a liberal dose of a “Hillary” or a “Mitt” brand of Swift Boating against their surging opponents…
CAMPAIGN ’08
Huckabee Surges, Obama Gains in Iowa
The new NEWSWEEK poll shows the former Arkansas governor now has a two-to-one lead over Romney, while Barack improves against Hillary.Former Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee has vaulted over his major GOP challengers to take a commanding lead in the race to win the Iowa caucuses, while Barack Obama continues to edge ahead of Hillary Clinton among Democrats likely to participate, a new NEWSWEEK poll shows.
The most dramatic result to come out of the poll, which is based on telephone interviews with 1,408 registered Iowa voters on Dec. 5 and 6, is Huckabee’s emergence from the shadows of the GOP race into the front runner’s spot in just two months. The ordained Southern Baptist minister now leads Romney by a two-to-one margin, 39 percent to 17 percent, among likely GOP caucus-goers. In the last NEWSWEEK survey, conducted Sept. 26-27, Huckabee polled a mere 6 percent to Romney’s 25 percent, which then led the field. …”
(Snip!)
“… Among those most likely to attend the caucuses, Obama has moved substantially ahead of Clinton, 35 percent to 29 percent, while Edwards falls back a bit, to 18 percent. Obama also gets more support from those who say they will “probably” attend a Democratic caucus (40 percent vs. 27 percent for Clinton). …”
Poor, poor ole’ Mitt — ain’t looking good for him right now. As for Her Royal Highness, Queen Hillary, the throne surges further and further from Her Royal grasp. Imagine a Barack Obama versus Mike Huckabee race and imagine an “America” led by either one of them. While this may seem like a gloomy scenario to some, I think it would just be more of the same in Washington for another four to eight years. Then again, the alternatives aren’t much different either…
“Police State”, or “Nanny State” — take your pick.

Off topic, but I got a post on my blog recently that is from a “group” that apparently supports violence against teachers on my blog. It seems too stupid to be true, but there it is, and I think it should be something people see for themselves.

I just cannot get pumped up about this Presidential cycle. Everyone knows that Hillary cannot win unless it is just out of apathy from the populace. Not one Republican appeals to me. I got nothing on this one, GTL. It is more of the same stuff and the elected officials keep spending my hard earned money. Barry Obama scares me though. I think that once elected, since he possesses such a weak intellect (he’s dumb as a box of rocks) we as a Nation will wind up back at the Carter years, because your party will run the economy into the ground just like it did before. Oh well, there’s always Costa Rica!

Police state or nanny state…can’t there be a “small state” option? I’m voting Libertarian this year. I don’t like any of the major candidates.

Are you kidding me about Obama? Do you guys really want a Muslim who studied at at a Islam University in Jakarta to be holding the reigns in the White House? At least Huckabee has a great track record in office and at least Hillary isn’t a Muslim…..think about what may happen if Obama gets elected…..disaster!!!!

And what, pray tell, is wrong with Muslims? I sincerely hope you’re not under the misguided impression that all Muslims are out to destroy Western civilization.
Besides, Obama isn’t a Muslim. I’m not really sure where you’re getting your information, but it’s quite wrong.
