NOTES:
Here we come, entering the time of the year in the NFL where there are NO “sure winners”. With only four regular season games to go, this is when the substandard teams’ players and coaches go into overdrive to save their careers while the teams who’ve already locked up their playoff berths tend to lay back a bit and rest their starters; a time of the year when a “Miami” can rout a “New England” on the road; a time of the year where the folks who make the “expert picks” start to slide back toward the middle. In other words — don’t bet your house on ANYBODY — the Dallas Cowboys, the Green Bay Packers, the Indianapolis Colts, the New England Patriots — ANYBODY…
Speaking of the New England Patriots, will they go undefeated in the regular season this year? While my math says “yes”, my head says “no”. I’m going with the math (my math) for another week despite the fact that the Pittsburgh Steelers have the defense to inflict a VERY long day upon Pats QB Tom Brady and the Pats have proven they are, indeed, “human” after all. Not only that, they are more than due for their first loss. If I were to go with my gut feeling on this one, I’d say the Steelers win, but I’m going with my (so far) fairly reliable math again to predict another “W” for Brady, Belicheat Belichick and company. As for the rest of the weekend, anybody else’s guess is as good as mine, but I’ll go ahead and take another stab at it anyway…
Here we go again: My STRAIGHT UP WINNERS

It’s the week for the black and gold. The Steelers have a better team than the Eagles and Ravens, who narrowly lost to the Pats. Don Shula will pop his annual bottle of champagne…

OK – help! I’ve hung in a football pool that started with 375 people and we are down to 37. We pick A team to win – no spreads involved – each week to stay in it. Pot is $7,000 and like you said, we are getting down to the wire where there are now no “sure” winners. So, my question is, who should I pick this week for the win, straight up? I’m thinking the Vikings, although I never pick away games. Green Bay or Jacksonville are my other two choices. Any comments?????

Good luck, Chris… my straight up picks have been made, but I wouldn’t lay 7 grand on ‘em

We differ on two games this week. Tennessee vs. SanD, the the pros have got that one off the board; and Houston vs. Tampa Bay.
Good luck!
Sounds like Chris’ pool is getting down to the wire. I was in a two-and-out pool the other year, but it was too nerve wracking. That being said, I’d suggest Vikings this week….

GTL,
We differ on only two games this week as well, but different ones from Ishmael.
I’ll take the Rams and the Giants.
If I were Chris, I’d take Jacksonville or Buffalo.

So, we’ll call it a draw.

Hey, looks like we all did pretty decent this weekend despite the uncertainty. 12-2 so far, with the Colts already blowing out the Ravens, so I’m going to call it 13-3 (.813) with confidence going into MNF on ESPN
If the Colts win, I’ll be 130-64 (.670) on the year going into the N.O. vs Atl game tomorrow evening… I’m stickin’ with it
Gotta LOVE the NFL… WOO-HOO!!!
