CNN Spokesman Confirms Network Chose “Diamonds And Pearls” Question
By Greg SargentOkay, we’ve got some more detail for you on the controversy surrounding CNN and the girl who asked Hillary whether she prefers “diamonds or pearls” at the close of last night’s debate.
Specifically, a CNN spokesperson confirmed to me that the network chose that question and asked her to ask it.
But in the network’s defense the spokesperson also says that the girl wasn’t “forced” to ask it. She submitted the question in advance — it was her question — and voluntarily agreed to ask it. CNN selected the question and asked her towards the close of the debate if she wanted to ask it. She said yes.
As you may have heard by now, the girl said on her MySpace page that she was forced to ask this question and that she would have preferred to ask one about Yucca Mountain. She said this in response to the storm of criticism and ridicule the question has since received.
And it looks like the girl is right: Though she did submit the question, CNN did select it and ask her to pose it.

Okay, YES — I admit — I’m PICKING on her. I don’t like her one BIT. And it has NOTHING to do what dangles (or not?) between her legs, but with the eight-PLUS year “project” to mold her as our next President, right in front of our eyes, as if it is “reality TV”. This woman is no more qualified to be the Commander-In-Chief of the world’s strongest military than she is to suddenly move to New York and become their Senator simply because she starts wearing “I Heart NY” t-shirts.
This “Dog and pony” show being played out before our very eyes to transform this IDIOT into the next “Leader Of The Free World” should serve as a SEVERE WARNING to anybody who MIGHT just see a few caution flags in their brains when they picture a Bush/Clinton/Bush/Clinton/Decades-long MONARCHY being layered over our once proud Democratic Republic. When someone will say ANYTHING to get elected; accept money from FELONS to finance their campaigns; the electorate should be asking a few questions about their motives.
And the very LAST question in matter of importance would be what precious STONE(S) they might prefer. You call that a “debate”? You’re out of your freaking MIND.
I’m sorry about the “visual”, but the REALITY of this situation is MUCH MORE GROTESQUE than any third-rate photoshop could EVER properly convey. THINK, and then, we’re filing this one under “Duh!”…

This is wrong on so many levels. Funny but wrong. And yes, it is frustrating to watch the Hillary parade, and really that was the stupidest question to have asked. It has absolutely no relevance to anything, and just focuses on the fact that she is a woman–something I think the Dems are banking on when it comes to Clinton. No wonder her opponents have started taking some shots at her. Someone needs to.
