Republican Congressman: Fire State Dept Officials Who Refuse To Serve In Iraq And Offer Their Jobs To Wounded Troops At Walter Reed

Sounds pretty extreme and cold, doesn’t it? Fire the government PEONS who refuse to head off to Baghdad at the request of our GUTLESS lawmakers in Congress and replace them with recovering military amputees at Walter Reed — good idea, you say? I say we send all 535 members of Congress, including the Senate, over to Baghdad to vote on their next “war spending” request by President Bush King George II and see how quick they are to sign on the dotted line.

Congressman Duncan Hunter says FIRE the low level government workers who refuse to serve in Iraq and give their jobs to Walter Reed amputees...Oh, it’s so EAAAAAASY for a gutless lawyer, oilman or school marm in Washington D.C. to vote to send our men and women in the military to their possible deaths, but IMPOSSIBLE for them to entertain the idea of serving themselves in a hostile fire war zone, or even the opportunity for their OWN loved ones to hold their hands up and take oath to serve without question in the U.S. military. “We’ll just FIRE them”, say the neocons of the ilk of Congressman Duncan Hunter (R [of course] CA – whose son actually DID serve in Iraq, to his credit)…

From WorldNetDaily:

Plan: Use wounded troops if diplomats refuse service
Rep. Hunter urges Bush to fire rebellious officials who complain Baghdad assignment ‘death sentence’

Responding to reports that State Department officials are refusing to serve in Iraq because it’s too dangerous, Rep. Duncan Hunter, R-Calif., has proposed a novel plan to President Bush – to bypass the agency and recruit from among U.S. military troops discharged after suffering injury.

Hunter, a candidate for the Republican presidential nomination, told talk-radio host Glenn Beck today he met with Bush just 30 minutes prior to the interview and gave him a letter outlining the plan.

“I said, ‘Let’s go over to Bethesda and Walter Reed (hospitals) and as we get these new – these soldiers and Marines who are embarking on new careers,” Hunter said, “let’s recruit them for the State Department; and let’s fire these guys that refuse to go, and we’ll give the State Department careers to these military guys.” …

(Snip!)

“… In the radio interview today, Beck responded enthusiastically to Hunter’s idea.

“That is fantastic,” Beck said. …”

(Snip!)

“… Hunter replied, “Exactly. …”

(Snip!)

“… Hunter said Bush indicated he might be open to the idea. …”

Mr. Hunter, of COURSE, has never been to Iraq. Vietnam, yes; Iraq, NO. While my hat’s off to him for the latter, I cannot “doff” it for the majority of his fellow neocons and so-called “New Democratic Congress” members who seem to be awfully quick these days to make snap decisions to send anybody other than themselves off to a DEADLY WAR ZONE. The last batch of “oh, so BRAVE” legislators, including my own Congressman from Alabama, to venture into Iraq had their plane shot at and to my knowledge, none of these gutless folks have had the gonies to venture into “The Desert” since. Correct me, please, if I am wrong about that one…

Yep, I’d dearly LOVE to see the entire Bush Administration and all 535 of our so-called “legislators” head off into Baghdad to propose and vote on our next set of Middle East issues; particularly, Iraq. They MIGHT just have a different “airplane view” of the whole fiasco. I say, let it happen and may Darwin’s Theory prevail.

And the staff memebers of the capons, too. Sometimes it seems like the staff pulls the strings that make the capons dance.

And they know the correct message – Peace through superior firepower!

Excuse this small point, but if you are going to call President Bush, “King George,” he would be George III (Remember George Washington?)

    James,
Well, given that the last George III who ruled America was an incompetent and insane king, you could have a point.
