Reports: U.S. Air Force NUKED Syria

UPDATES BELOW — 4:00 PM, CST

If what The Jerusalem Post is reporting today happens to be TRUE, on September 6th of this year, the United States once again proved itself to be the ONLY country to EVER attack another country with a nuclear weapon by dropping tactical nukes upon alleged nuclear sites in Syria.

If rumors are true -- George Bush - the insane man with his hands on the nuclear football -- has attacked Syria with tactical nukes...While I would HOPE and PRAY the Commander-In-Chief of what will most likely become World War III, President Bush King George II has NOT committed this act, which would be labeled as yet another “high crime” (forget the “misdemeanors”). If true, it should CLEARLY lead to his immediate dismissal from the Office of The Presidency in cuffs since only CONGRESS can declare war and I do not recall Congress declaring war upon the nation of Syria. I also thought it was internationally ILLEGAL to detonate nuclear weapons during an act of war, but maybe there’s some sort of “fine print” allowing a DICTATOR to nuke nuclear facilities? If so, I missed that one.

The troubling report from The Jerusalem Post:

‘USAF struck Syrian nuclear site’

The September 6 raid over Syria was carried out by the US Air Force, the Al-Jazeera Web site reported Friday. The Web site quoted Israeli and Arab sources as saying that two US jets armed with tactical nuclear weapons carried out an attack on a suspected nuclear site under construction.

The sources were quoted as saying that Israeli F-15 and F-16 jets provided cover for the US planes.

The sources added that each US plane carried one tactical nuclear weapon and that the site was hit by one bomb and was totally destroyed.

At the beginning of October, Israel’s military censor began to allow the local media to report on the raid without attributing their report to foreign sources. Nevertheless, details of the strike have remained clouded in mystery. …”

Okay, should this prove to be the truth, and I have little doubt to its authenticity; the lesson of the Bush Administration is clear: nations who cannot be “trusted” with nukes will face nukes from a country who has PROVEN it cannot be trusted with nukes — my good ‘ole U.S. of A. And with the so-called “threat” of Iran who is allegedly (according to the neocons who froth at the mouth for Middle Eastern Oil and Southeast Asia nation building) are apparently, telegraphing their intentions to declare NUCLEAR war upon Iran; Congress involved or NOT. I have a huge problem with a President who wages war upon those nations his paranoia tells him are “evil”, whether or not they were included in his “Axis Of Evil” speech following the 9/11 WTC attacks in NY City. It’s UNCONSTITUTIONAL. It’s IMMORAL. It’s ILLEGAL. There is very LITTLE to find “right” about any of this behavior — again — I STRESS — should these allegations of the nuking of Syria prove to be true.

Regardless, I think it’s crystal clear to any clear-thinking individual; the “nuclear football” is now in the hands of one of the most dangerous men this planet has seen since the days of Adolph Hitler. “Good intentions” on behalf of President Bush? I’m SURE — but good intentions coming from the mind of a far-right, theocratic-minded “end-timer” has already proven how dangerous the results can be — witness FELLOW far-right, theocratic “end-timer” Osama Bin Ladin’s wake of death and destruction caused WITHOUT the benefit of nuclear weapons; without the benefit of an Army, Air Force, Navy, or Marines and their weaponry at his instantaneous command at the drop of a hat.

Did I just compare President Bush to a terrorist? I suppose I did, but it is hard to argue there are many shared qualities in both his mindset and the mindset of OBL, who’s family has been doing “bidness” with the Bush’s for many, many years now. Think about THAT one for a few moments and think about the rest of this piece before you just cover your ears and eyes and deem me as being “everything that’s wrong with America today”. Particularly when there is evidence (I didn’t say PROOF) the man has gone about the “bidness” of nuking other nations with the usage of WMD’s and without proper authorization from Congress…

Which, at the very least, would be quite TROUBLESOME INDEED.

Yeah, let’s bash the U.S. because of a report in Al Jazeera… “The September 6 raid over Syria was carried out by the US Air Force, the Al-Jazeera Web site reported Friday”

I guess if Al Jazeera reports it, it must be true, right?

You can’t hide the use of nuclear weapons, and if we had nuked somebody, I’m pretty sure at least ONE of the three network news shows and/or CNN would have reported it by now. I doubt very seriously that this happened, and if it did, you can bet this president would immediately be subject to criminal charges, and we would instantly become the “evil” outlaw subject to very bad world scrutiny right now.

I hope like hell we don’t have any officers in the armed forces right now that would accept such an order, because if we do, we are in BIG trouble.

I don’t put much stock in al-Jezeera either, but remember — this is being reported in the Jerusalem Post and I don’t see any Israeli officials disputing the reports so far, OR American officials either for that matter ;-)

The Russians would know; the Chinese would know. They’d both be screaming bloody murder.

The plane that would be used for this would be a B-2. The purported accompanying, Israeli, non-stealth planes would not just be unhelpful, but would compromise the B-2’s stealthy attack.

IF there were US planes involved, and IF they dropped any ordnance, odds are it was a weapon that uses depleted uranium– and a bad Arabic translation has morphed that into a “tactical nuke.”.

Hey man, you make great points on the Congress must declare war point of this being a big deal. However, you should know, that nuclear weapons are not illegal to use IF war is declared. In all the Geneva Conventions stuff, and what I’ve learned over and over in the military, to many people’s shock…nukes are not illegal weapons in war.

The smallest nuke we have, the B61 variable-yield (or the B61-11 ground penetrator), has a nominal yield of 10 Kt. Even if detonated below ground, it would leave a hole the size of Ground Zero in Manhattan and eject roughly a million cubic feet of radio active debris into the atmosphere, not to mention send out a seismic shock wave that would have registers around the world.

    “BDS” was right.

The radiation from a nuclear strike would also be easily detectable by an increase in the background radiation. the fallout would probably be detectable worldwide

  • Evrviglnt

I’m not surprised that Al Jezeera would report such a thing, it plays great to the Middle Eastern crowd and those here in America on the left who like to play the moral equivalence game, saying things like – “Okay, should this prove to be the truth, and I have little doubt to its authenticity; the lesson of the Bush Administration is clear: nations who cannot be “trusted” with nukes will face nukes from a country who has PROVEN it cannot be trusted with nukes — my good ‘ole U.S. of A.” Your comparing Syria and its nuclear plans to melt a million Jews with the nuking of their nuclear plant? Is that very thoughtful? Raise your hand if you’ve got foam coming out of your mouth every time you say Bush!

GTL – you have little doubt to its authenticity regardless of the source because you want to believe it – it’s this BDS that has crippled so many on the left. I can only hope that should Commander Clinton gain the presidency that the right doesn’t descend into such jaundiced, myopic hatred – this country can’t take much more it.

But hey – If the Liars have put it on their site – it must be true!

  • Lee Michaels
    3:11 pm on November 5th, 2007 24

OK, I think GTL gets the drift that none of us reading this “report” believe a word of it, and that he might have passed it along as “possible” truth a little quicker than he should before some more extensive research. Even now he might be trying to come up with a dignified retraction, as he should, which I will certainly accept so that we can move on. Those of you who want to smack him upside the head for it, well, you’ve done that, now YOU move on.

However, I myself will wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that DUBYA has already proven that he can do things that are practically as irrational as what our enemies seem capable of. He has already proven a willingness to dismantle our constitution in order to “protect” us. He has already proven that torture is no longer something we can high and mightily accuse our enemies of doing. He has proven he can lead us into a fake war, then turn around and try and lead us into another one using the same lame arguments. And, here and abroad, he has proven that at least to THIS government, life is cheap.

Oh, and speaking of lies…….did you hear the one about weapons of mass distruction, Sadaam Hussien, and Al-Quida…………….?

  • ahz
    4:24 pm on November 5th, 2007 25

God, I hope this is true. Maybe it will scare Ahmanenutjob into deconstructing his nuclear sites, lest we deconstruct it for him.

I cant believe we didnt take out his plane over the Atlantic, I thought we had a real cowboy in the White House.

Yea, OMG! The US used Nukes against Japan!! We’re sooo evilll.. Too much focus on the suffering of the Japanese and not enough emphasis on the fact that the Japanese not only started the war, but took pride in unprecedented levels of brutality. (rape of Nanking?)

As far as Iran goes, the sooner we destroy their reactors the better. Long live Pax Americana.

Here is a great example of BDS:

“However, I myself will wholeheartedly agree with the sentiment that DUBYA has already proven that he can do things that are practically as irrational as what our enemies seem capable of. He has already proven a willingness to dismantle our constitution in order to “protect” us. He has already proven that torture is no longer something we can high and mightily accuse our enemies of doing. Oh, and speaking of lies…….did you hear the one about weapons of mass distruction, Sadaam Hussien, and Al-Quida…………….?”

President Bush is practically as irrational as the terrorists? Then why hasn’t he declared from every church that the Bible sanctions the murder of unbelievers? I saw the first lady in a burqa the other day – does that mean that Chimpy McHitlerburton has finally cast away all pretense?

He has dismantled the Constitution? Like President Lincoln? Like President Clinton? You kooks and your Patriot Act nightmares – you make a mockery of the seriousness every citizen should take regarding the protection of our liberties from a rapacious government when you distort things such as this.

Is there no difference in the torture chambers of Pol Pot and Saddam Hussein and the America’s Abu Ghraib and Guantanamo? Can they even be compared? You’re a regular Dickie Durbin – without the apology…

The war in Iraq is a fake war? WTF? Tell that to Al Qaeda.

And this tired lie about Americans being lied to about the weapons of mass destruction – What did the British think about Saddam’s WMD? Germany? Italy? France? To insist that after 9/11 that you were still willing to give Saddam the benefit of the doubt is astounding. Saddam may have had good reason to lie to us, and he had better reasons to think that the international community would never hold him to the surrender agreement he signed in the first gulf war – but we have been ignoring the war declared on us by extremist Islam for decades (apparently that’s your plan for dealing with them) – and three thousand people died for it.

Are you ever going to take our enemies seriously, or is it all Bush’s fault, too?

    Get some counseling.

  • Lee Michaels
    7:05 pm on November 5th, 2007 27

Oh, I take damn serious our enemies, and thanks to this idiot we have running our country, we have a lot more of them. The capital of empathy we banked on 9/11 was totally squandered by the invasion of Iraq, the totally incompetent occupation that Rumsfield engineered, and yes, the likes of Abu Grieve and Guantanimo. Damn near everybody, the international community included, gave us GRUDGING approval for that invasion based on the totally bullshit song and dance that Colin Powell delivered at the U.N., and thanks to this fubar, a following that was once reserved to the extremist extreme has now become a mainstream hatred of all things American, and the West and democracy in general. Oh, you think all these young radicals strap on that dynamite and target the innocent because WE were NICE to them?
The big difference between us and the monsters such as Hitler, Pol Pot, Stalin, etc, was that we at least made a show at respecting human rights and did not commit wholesale murder for mere political convenience. We were better than that. Now, we accept “captured non-combatant terrorists” and lock them away in Guantanimo who in the end turn out to be simply someone who pissed someone off and got turned over to the coalition in exchange for favor or a reward, because we denied them any method whatsoever to prove otherwise. These neo-cons know all to well the method of creating external threats in order to garner their power at home. Every tin-pot dictator in history has used the same recipe.

Oh, and don’t make me laugh. DUBYA is about as “saved” as your average pedophile congressman.
