U.S. Set to Offer Huge Arms Deal to Saudi Arabia
By DAVID S. CLOUD
WASHINGTON, July 27 — The Bush administration is preparing to ask Congress to approve an arms sale package for Saudi Arabia and its neighbors that is expected to eventually total $20 billion at a time when some United States officials contend that the Saudis are playing a counterproductive role in Iraq.
The proposed package of advanced weaponry for Saudi Arabia, which includes advanced satellite-guided bombs, upgrades to its fighters and new naval vessels, has made Israel and some of its supporters in Congress nervous. …” – New York Times
Makes sense, doesn’t it? Indeed, it DOES. Supplying a country with advanced weaponry; a country who’s given us nothing but oil and dead fellow Americans over the years; makes perfect sense for an oligarchy whose economy is based upon perpetual WAR. Yes, I’m talking about the United States of America, of course.
We sold millions of dollars worth of arms to Saddam Hussein, we also did this with Osama Bin Ladin, and where did this get us? Now, we’re in the process of wheeling and dealing arms to the Saudis without questioning WHY they suddenly wish to have BILLIONS of dollars worth of advanced, sophisticated weaponry. This is a REAL “Bush-ism”. And, folks — this one’s not funny at all…

This mush is rather incoherent and as mean-spirited as most lib-leper offerings, though with a patina of literacy lacking on almost all other leftard posts.
Basic question: do you actually think the Saudi government had anything to do with 9/11? And are you aware that almost all the so-called “Saudi” participants were of Yemeni heritage? And what that means, given UbL’s own Yemeni heritage?
Follow-up question: If we do take some sort of notional “high road” and not sell the Saudis the arms in question, do we simply lose money, or do we also lose some influence & leverage on a country key to the Middle East and Islamic world in general?
And finally: Do you actually labor under the misapprehension that a Democrat administration would NOT do exactly the same transaction with the Saudis, though perhaps with different US defense companies that were more generous to the campaign coffers of the Dhimmi-crat Party?

Basic question: do you actually think the Iraqi government had anything to do with 9/11?
And with all due respect, I don’t think you are the right person to be lecturing anyone else about mean-spiritedness . And even less are you the right person to be making snide comments about the literateness of other people’s posts. I’ve never seen a comment of yours that was *not* mean-spirited, incoherent mush, and illiterate to boot. And I should know, since I rejected one this very morning.

Everyone is surprised and talks about how senseless and incompetent the Bush Administration is. But it lies.
But those ARE mutually exclusive. They aren’t senseless and incompetent. They didn’t have a plan for the aftermath because they want it to be a mess. The Project for the New American century wanted to effectively colonize the Middle East. Our Iraq strategy is a more devastating form of divide and conquer that the Britains played in the early part of the 20th century. That’s why Bush’s approval is in the twenties and they do absolutely nothing to compromise with Democrats.
The 1991 Iraq War was a lie too! Jim Baker told Saddam the US wouldnt respond to an invasion of Kuwait. The same Jim Baker who helped get Bush elected, who has been a longstanding Bush family friend, who produced the “critical” Iraq Study Group report, etc.
Likewise with Saudi Arabia, Bush and Jim Baker and Carlyle and the bin Laden group have decades-long ties to each other. Ties that are measured in the billions of dollars.
Incompetent on Katrina? They turned down aid from foreign countries, refused aid in the critical hours during Katrina, and are now telling citizens to stay and suck in carcinogens in their FEMA trailers purchased from defense contractors, which by the way, you can get arrested for videotaping!
They are criminals, who have sold us on the idea that they are incompetent.

If the 15/19 were from say, France- would we be giving France a 20 Billion dollar arms deal?
