Allegedly true, and to no surprise, the freshly former North Carolina legislator also just happened to be the Vice Chairman for the House Committee on Children, Youth and Families…

David Almond had the decency to resign almost as soon as word of his inappropriate behavior came out. The North Carolina House Republicans are trying to keep his transgression a secret, but they did force him to resign. An insurance agent, Almond was serving his second term in the House. Impeccable DWT sources tell me he exposed himself in front of a female employee and chased her around the room yelling “Suck it, baby, suck it.” It is unclear whether or not there was physical contact. She filed a personnel complaint.

In a one-sentence letter to House Speaker Joe Hackney, the two-term Republican lawmaker from Stanly County immediately resigned his seat representing the 67th House District. …”

“… Stam, R-Wake, said Republican leaders asked Almond to resign “if the allegations were true,” but that Almond resigned on his own.

“He did it himself. The leaders of the caucus asked him to resign if the allegations were true. We don’t know the truth or not,” Stam said.

In true Republican fashion Almond was the vice chairman of the House committee on children, youth and families. …”

I’m beginning to wonder if it might just be unwise to leave children and small animals unattended around Republican politicians these days with this guy joining Bob Allen (R-FL) (charge – prostitution) and David Vitter (R-LA) (solicitation of prostitution – D.C. Madam phone records scandal) in the Republican Weekly Hall Of Shame. And somehow, I seriously doubt any of these men will ever be required to register as “sex offenders”…

    And it was proper that Almond resign. Matter of fact, the local dirt here in NC is that the state GOP told him to hit the road.

    We take care of our own when they boo boo. Funny how, when it is a Democrat who is in trouble, they rarely resign, and the Party rarely says “hit the road!” Witness Cold Cash Jefferson, still in Congress. Democrats never even tried to force former NC house speaker Jim Black out. And there are many other examples.

    Humans make mistakes. It is interesting how each Party deals with the issue.

    Good old cold cash Jefferson, still in the congress. But what about the puggie Ney. Pleaded guilty, and refused to resign until a week before he had to report to jail.

    Why did you forget to mention this? Jefferson hasn’t had a trial yet. Why did the puggie’s in NC force him out? Oh, I know, his actions didn’t fit into the theme of “family, moral, nice values” BS that the puggies just love to spout. But really, it’s do as I say, not as I do, correct?
